It really is. Even when it was three in the morning and I had four hungry kittens screaming at the top of their lungs.  I'd never fostered kittens before, and every shelter I called was overflowing, so it was a bit of a crash-course in kitten care.

 

My own cat was actually a huge help.  He cleaned them and mothered them and showed them how to use the litterbox.  (And got tapeworms for his trouble, the poor guy  )

Oooh, I like that idea.  A burn/sear mark that looks like the patterns on the orb.  It doesn't seem to cover his/her whole hand. 

I tried to make the pattern appear on the fingers/palm. 

I bet the mark would be bumpy and have ridges too.

Maybe I should play around with it more.

I actually have no clear opinion if he is "racist" or really simply a "misanthrope".

I think he's an immortal being who's just seen it all and so his generalizations have plenty of justification. Arrogant and pessimistic, yes. He's hardly a misanthrope, however. He approaches all the members of the Inquisition with intellectual curiosity and open mindedness. Yes, really. When he challenges people, I think he's waiting for the counter-challenge that will disprove his argument on rational grounds. If you can give it, he not only is capable of changing his mind, he'll have greater respect for the person who does it. If you take all his dismissiveness personally, or personally on behalf of whomever he's dismissing, I guess that does look like misanthropy, but he is willing to respect and like anyone who doesn't live down to his grim fatalistic expectations. Love, even.

This video has made my day. The two of them are so painfully cute together. Ralphee gets along surprisingly well with her crazy wobble. :')

He's so bitter and disappointed in the disapproval conversation with the Inquisitor.  Personally, I think part of him wants to be proven wrong.  It must be terrible thinking you've created a world worse than the one you tried to overthrow.  Varric, Cole, Cassandra, Tal-Vashoth Iron Bull, friendly or romanced Inquisitor...they all provide sparks of hope, proof that it's not as bad as he thought it was.

We and a few others eventually caught them all, fixed them up (mites, fleas, worms, vaccinations) and fostered the kittens until they found appropriate homes through a local feral cat rescue group.

All these kitty stories are making me teary reminding me of my own baby.

 

I found my cat while I was doing art department for a (really terrible) film. She was starving out in the bush in the rain, so I popped her in my jumper and kept her warm while I worked. I've had her for a couple of years now and she's just the sweetest thing. Rescue pets are the best.

 

On topic: If there was a 'Solas cuddles kittens' simulator, I would play it.

For me, it's hedgehogs. I'm like, the Queen of Hedgehogs. My garden is huge, full of thickets and trees and bramble bushes and compost heaps. It's like hedgehog heaven. So maybe two or three times a year I'll get a sick little hedgehog, due to hypothermia or this skin fungus thing they get, and I'll be Florence Nightingale for the next few days. It's all worth it though. Can't leave an animal to suffer through indifference. It's lovely to see other people are the same.

I'd much see him surrounded by bunnies though. But I'm sure he'd love cats as well. He's the type to love everything, and I can relate to that. (If I had the financial means, my home probably would be a gigantic shelter/field for all kinds of animals in need).

No nug killing is allowed in-game. I'd like to think my characters have put an outright ban on it and informed all their companions. Cole totally agrees. The others just note it down as one of the Inquisitors more baffling eccentricities. Leliana, while never saying it out allowed, secretly greatly approves and it's one of the reasons she doesn't go craycray and stab the Inquisitor in the eyeball.
