I think they actually have exploration options for everyone now. Rogues open doors, mages can fix bridges WITH MAGIC, warriors break barricades. They also mentioned a long time ago that some characters only would know about like, certain dwarven runes or elven writing, etc. There's no winning, I think. You just have to keep taking everyone back to the same places and making them look around. lol
If this is so, I will be months finishing the game.
I can see me, sometime in mid-March, sitting hunched in front of the television, eye twitching while I mutter to myself, "I know there was a funny-looking rock around here somewhere...and I've only looked at it with six of my companions...what if there's loot under it I can only find with a different combo? What if there's a cave I'm missing nearby? WHAT IF?" At which point all the companions onscreen will turn and look at me like I'm nuts. Because I will also be hallucinating by then.
I'm not sure if he'd be a blood mage even if it was available? The main reasons we've seen it for are power and he doesn't seem the type to need it? He might talk to demons but he doesn't seem like he'd need to boss them around either.
Rift mage is definitely the specialization I'm most curious about. Like....What the hell does it do? Do you open up a big hole in the Fade right under people and just suck them in or what? Can you summon spirits to help you fight?? I imagine it's less about fighting and more about debilitating or giving buffs or....SOMETHING but it's just so hard to guess right now.
Maybe it's just the vibe in this thread, but...I still think he'll be the Disney princess of our group. A combo of the Sleeping Beauty/Snow White of the Fade.
"Come, my incorporeal friends! Rain death upon our enemies! Fly! FLYYYYY!"

I'm expecting an interesting bag of tricks. He's an unconventional mage, so I hope his spells are unusual too.
