Until the Inquisitor starts showing signs of possession, you don't threaten your superior.
As part of the Inquisition, she does what the Inquisitor tells her to do or else you'd better put her in charge instead because you shouldn't be running a large military and political organization.
If you ask me that's only a stone's throw away from dictatorship and a Forth Reich. Too many bad things in the world only happened because people did not dare question* their superiors until it was too late. Because as it is, waiting until the atrocities actually happen tends to be a bad idea.
(* Sera did not threaten, btw, she tested. When not seeing an initial defensive mechanism she takes down the bow.)

I like Sera. I realize she can rub people the wrong way. Her character certainly isn't going to appeal to everyone. But I feel the "Sera is a whiny child" viewpoint of her character is unfair. There's reason and logic to what she does. It's just not everyone agrees with it. And that's fine. I can get behind that. But I don't agree she's "immature" in her actions. In fact, I find there's a lot of sense in what other people might consider to be her more nonsensical moments.
This was a great post. A like is not enough to express how impressed I am.
And this last bit I second. I see why many people dislike her, because it takes a certain kind of open-mindedness to understand her. Those who are not willing to engage in it don't have to, that's okay. Those who do will see noble and deliberate motivations in her.
I feel like Solas' rival dialogue is the most interesting. Everyone else throws a bit of a tantrum, but Solas' is really interesting...I wish there was a rival-mance path with him.
Somebody (veeia) recently suggested to "simulate" a rivalmance. First gain disapproval until the slapping, then do all the quests, judgements etc. that gain approval with him and build up a romance. She said it adds some compelling dynamics and I guess I will try this in my next playthrough. I did this with Cass once and it was really interesting to see the development (and getting more content).
