Even the characters I don't like usually have an interesting story to tell me. I don't trust Morrigan in the least, for instance, and she usually irritates me with her disapprovals but she's got a whole lot of crazy in her back story and she's definitely interesting. Without those stories the games would be a tiny sliver of themselves. Without romancing or even agreeing with Solas you still get a weird new perspective (spirits are people, too) that deepens the world.
Same for me. In Inquisition Sera runs hot and cold for me though I'm in the like camp more than not. And I really dislike Vivienne, but she's not a flat character. She is how she is due to the circumstances she came up through, and she keeps her position by being both powerful and shrewd. Doesn't mean I like her self-centered, arrogant personality, but I think she feels realistic.
I had the same issue with Morrigan. I disliked her and didn't remotely trust her, though I let her drink from the well because my Lavellan chose to trust Solas when she asked his advice. My second will do it herself anyway. But even Morrigan, by the end of Inquisition, I sort of found myself liking a bit after she realizes she doesn't quite know everything and has grown up a bit.
It's a bit frustrating when someone tries to minimize your interest in something as down to romance or call that a deciding factor. Like, look at all of these other things I'm interested by/in/all the lore stuff and characters.
But this is one reason why I am here.
The first time I saw this scene, I was like "Bioware, you didn't!"
The butt grab is still the best thing ever.
There's a reason I use a shot of this as an avatar. ![]()
