A mutual, er, friend... I guess, used to say he wanted to see my husband "be sick on himself" anytime we'd go out for drinks, since my husband is outwardly kinda buttoned up and has loads of self control. I used to think this friend was being a moron when he said **** like this. But I think I can finally understand where he's coming from, because I wish the exact same thing for Solas. Let's get dat ancient elf god drunk as ****.

Solas occasionally confuses cuddlin' prior to snoggin' with chopping off the noggin. Sometimes the reception in the Fade isn't very good. It's his cable provider's fault.

If anyone wants to..she has long white hair that she usually keeps up in a pony tail when she's away from Skyhold, but down when she's running around in her pajamas. She has the full Mythal vallaslin and light green eyes. Oh..and she's a rift mage.

Awww...thank you!!  I don't have any screen shots since I play on a 360..but here are some of a Lavellan who looks almost exactly like her...except she has white hair instead of the light blonde.

I've already mentioned the boyfriend who complains about DAI and thinks I like the game and Solas due to romance. Because that must be the reason why I'd play 'a bad game'.

IF I had a bf who said that. I would tell him to get the f*** off because even if you may not agree that it is amazing game but I cannot stand people saying things like that. I mean.. I personally don't really care much of call of duty but if my bf would love that game and stuff... the last thing to say to him would be sth like that.

This is kind of what bf has said to me even though I'm not all buttoned up or anything, but he thinks I'm serious for some reason. I'm a huge nerd, but I'm extroverted and social, so I don't understand that. Anyway, I don't really drink very much. I limit myself to one or two. I've been drunk once in my life and I really hated it, so I've never gone there again.

 

I do very much enjoy Drunk Solas though. I just become a super giggly, faster-talking version of myself. I don't have an adorable gigglesnort though.

 

Oh and bf tried that thing  again just now and I shut him down. I don't know why he keeps wanting to send me critical articles while still ignoring that I've made the same comments on some of the game's flaws and even changed the way I normally play and enjoyed it more like that.

That was a rather sad turn from the last chapter, but not in a bad way, as you're progressing the central conflicts and we all know to expect at least some angst from a Solavellan fic series. I guess my one quibble is about pacing. This is post-Halamshiral, and you stated you wanted to bring in other characters so Maiwe clearly had friends to rely on (along with herself) after the breakup, but she's still coming across as not that close to anyone but Solas just yet. After Halamshiral comes the temple of Mythal and while there is time in between, obviously the breakup happens right after that, so I am just wondering how you'll pace this.

Sorry if I'm misconstruing anything you've said, or coming across at all as snarky. Certainly not my intent, and perhaps I shouldn't be commenting on this at all, because it's your personal life of which I know very little (feel free to tell me to p!ss off if I'm upsetting you). But I can't help but be kind of concerned, as a generally empathetic person, because it sounds like you're describing the actions of a pretty disrespectful dude. :/ Doesn't sound like a very nice relationship, from the glimpse you've provided on these forums.

 

I hope I'm wrong, but if not, good for you for shutting him down. Sorry you have to deal with his negative approach. I don't think I was clear enough. He's said that about the drinking thing but he knows I don't much and has never tried to force me. He just said it's something he'd like to see. We just had a nice chat on the phone since I was out of town. He didn't bring up DA at all. These things always pass, as will happen when you've been with someone for a decade, but he has an annoying need to be 'right' sometimes. Still, totally not having this discussion anymore. It's especially silly since he hasn't even finished and I need to vague talk around some of the very major reasons why I like Solas, for example. Or the lore stuff. So I kind of laugh it off at this point.  If he keeps trying I will just spoil grandpa sexy elf for him after all.

Want a wild educated guess? Because you dismiss his opinion, which makes him feel... unimportant or something. As if the game won over him. He wishes you to acknowledge him and in an attempt to reach this goal he looks for further evidence to convince you (because he is your bf, so he feels he should be more important than a game). Maybe he is even a bit jealous.
I am not sure how you talked about this, but most likely he does not understand how you feel. Frankly, this sort of behavior is very common, I know I'm not immune to it myself and I know a lot of people who tried it on me. I don't think it's meant negatively or that he tries to hurt you, he's just a tad stubborn. Tell him that it does hurt you, that you are aware of the flaws but that you enjoy the game and do not wish to let this be spoiled. That's also what I tell people, "I see your point, but I decided to ignore these flaws because I like the game". Should he still go on, ignore it and just show some spine. It is an unpleasant trait of character, but it is not so bad really. A few compromises are necessary in a human relationship after all.

However, should he actually dismiss nearly everything about you, constantly attack you in a (passive-) aggressive way, or hardly accept any criticism you have, ignoring your feelings (e.g. completely disregarding that you feel hurt by him and wiping it away with "But that's not true so stop it"), this would be a different matter. But usually this leads to separation anyway. No matter how strong feelings are, one can only take so much negativity and sooner or later it will be enough and the feelings vanish ("Love... love will tear us apart again...").

I don't know what is the case for you two, so far what you described does not sound inherently abusive to me. But should RogueBait be right and you find yourself in a relationship that makes you unhappy, with a person who does not care about your feelings, you should reconsider your life choices (in case the feelings don't vanish like I remarked above).
