It seems I should dust the last Deus Ex game off at some point from the depths of my unplayed Steam library.

 

You totally should.  Because it's glorious, and Adam Jensen is growly cyborg glory.  You also don't have to stealth.  The game encourages you to play conservatively and does somewhat favor stealth/non-lethal since it gives you extra XP and ammo is relatively scarce.  But with the right combat augmentations, gunslinging Jensen is just as viable as stealth Jensen, and probably better in boss fights.

 

 

Okay. This is not a stealth game anymore. There goes my full ghost pacifist run. It doesn't matter. In love there must be compromise. If they want me to slice open throats to be reunited, I will do so with my teeth and fingernails if need be.

 

 

Not necessarily.  This was just a cinematic trailer, and the one for Human Revolution also had Jensen going full guns akimbo.  Apparently you can stealth past bosses in Mankind Divided among other features.

You don't have to go stealth. You can play it as a full fledged shooter. Equip the assault rife or whatever you like and launch a full frontal assault.

But you can full stealth even HR, you just need to buy the Director's Cut release. They reimplemented the boss fights to allow taking them down with hacking and shadow attacks.

Uh... Then use the rocket launcher. It's quite effective. Just... make the first hit count or else you'll die while reloading.

The pistol is your best friend   Armor piercing rounds.  Laser sights to make it a poor-man's sniper rifle for long distance.  Relatively plentiful ammo.  For augments, grab the Typhoon, both take-down augmentations, inventory space, recoil reduction, damage reduction, and Icarus landing system.  And you're pretty much good to go for shooting.  I may have thought too much about this game in the last few days.

LOL.  That was me at the beginning of HR since it was only my second game where I've tried stealth (the first was Skyrim, and that was laughably easy after 60-ish points in the skill).  I'm pretty sure my Jensen picked up Snake's bizarre love of boxes.

I loved the stealth in that game. It really rewarded smart gameplay but I didn't feel it was cheaply punishing.   

 

@Catfishers - I would recommend giving the game another go.  I would try the full stealth route, or just put it on easy and just play it like a normal FPS.  Adam Jensen is beautiful and wonderful and the King of my robot heart. Also the story is pretty fantastic...minus a few hiccups.

YAY! There is a special place in my heart for stealth. Oh, how I wished I could drop a piano on Barrett's head from a ventilation shaft, instead I had to hide behind a pillar and wait for him to blow himself up.

And please don't mention Snake. For months after the release of Ground Zeroes I'd waited for Phantom Pain so bad. (I no longer believe that game will ever exist.) This is a scar I do not wish to be reminded of...

Do it!! I went with Part B of Kissiebear's suggestion. Chose "Tell Me a Story", chose "Give me all the big guns!" and had a blast getting Jensen some revenge

Alright, now I wish we had this weapon in the new Deus Ex for non-lethal takedowns. I can predict with a 100% certainty, that I'm going to be disappointed.

Not so sure they will place us in Detroit again. He could have moved. I would have in his shoes. And the rest were just travels. It's easy to pick other places.

Jensen was okay, not too significant anyway. I would have hoped for another protagonist, simply to have a brand new experience. But no need crying over spilled milk. In the end I will love it just the same.

 

I hated that they killed his dog while he was recovering... And he has to suck up to his mom in law... It weren't too bad but it would have been nice to have another equally good character and, uh, female...

I would have loved to have all my PCs that saved the day be elves but DA2 robbed me of that choice. Grr...

He totally does. I turn off helmets but I want the option to selectively turn them on for characters, so Cole's floppy hat, Vivienne's horns, and even Solas in a cowl could happen while others remained hidden (okay, Bull's special helmet is awesome too). Cassandra currently has the flower crown.

I would love that. I also wonder how Cassandra would react to being put in a flower crown. It looks really nice on her. Solas is currently in the DLC  helmet  since I felt like taking him out of the obnoxious Orlesian mask, and it looks ridiculous so I'm glad that's hidden.
