I don't think I could love this more.

Well, considering the popularity of the theory that Sera herself is/harbors another elven god, it makes sense if he calls her "our people" while distancing himself from the Dalish and other elves. Further proof, Sera is Andruil! Haha hahahaha.

No. Get outta here with your nonsense, you.

Oh, and Solas. He's cute too, hehe!
:3!!!! Thank you!
Have I mentioned that I love animals, guys? I love animals. In fact, I was the kind of awesome awkward dork who'd wear wolf t-shirts in middle school. Also, I have this t-shirt that's super tatty and full of holes with a wolf cub on it that I got from a museum when I was like 11, and it still fits me because I am a child and I wear it to bed.
No regrets.

My friend tagged me in Facebook pics of her adorable dog with "don't steal my dog, (my name)". The running joke among everyone is that I'm a secret kidnapper of cute animals everywhere. I am not allowed a pet in my apartment but bf has a kitty. I'll take one of your wolf pups - it's magical, right? Never grows, fits in tiny apartments? ![]()

NO. No. ANDRUIL IS A BADASS. Sera is...well....Sera....
I have absolutely no opinion on this theory. I also prefer it not to be so.
But just for the sake of mind gaming: Andruil could be asleep, or a passive observer, not yet controlling Sera.
If there's one thing to be said about BioWare then it's that they know how to write in a way that allows opposing theories, supports each, and does not provide clear evidence for either.

This is the best puppy drawing. You can always tell if somebody's an animal person by the way they draw critters (so I arbitrarily decided just this moment - but whatever, I think it must be true.)
I'm sorry about your in-laws' dog. What's the point of all that science, if they haven't figured out how to make pets immortal.

I think it's true. You can always tell in animation when someone has actually studied the way the animals move and act and those who haven't. Dug from Up is a good example. Everything about him is just so real. And am I the only person who gets distracted by Rocket's tail and ears in Guardians of the Galaxy? They're so fluid and expressive. In DAO there's our Mabari who needs a 'hug, cuddle and tummy rub' option because I don't care if he's a video game dog, he's my big cuddly puppy.

I'm with you on this, in that I don't have much personal stake in it, and I'd also prefer it not to play out that way (going from what we have, at least).
But when I've brought up the theory (of Sera/Andruil) with more casual dragon age players, they always react to it negatively. Like, "That would be really stupid. Why would they ever do that?" etc. Of course they don't care about how every scrap of lore relates to every other scrap of lore - and OK, to be fair we're talking, like, a sample of maybe three people - but the immediate knee-jerk dislike still surprised me. They weren't even curious.
I sort of get it - in most things I prefer stuff to remain mysterious. It shrinks the world to have all the questions neatly answered and then linked together in a pattern. But my obsessiveness totally dissolves that reasonable attitude.

I haven't even seen either of those movies, but I still know what you mean. It's like, when they nail it - or actually, even when they just approximate it - it switches on some part of your brain that wants to respond as if it's real.

So. Solas. Here's a legitimate question: do you guys think the ancient, immortal elves' bodies stop aging prior to what we as humans would consider old age? Or do you think they'd get there eventually, but the process of physically aging would slow down massively as they approached it? Do we have any lore relevant stuff on this? Or do we ever see any very, very old looking immortal elves in any capacity? I'd like to know the rate of body ageing v.s. years lived. These fantasy mechanics interest me.
My opinion based on nothing whatsoever outside my own head canon is that they aged albeit very slowly, I also happen to think that Solas is ageing now, but I cannot tell at what speed, I suspect at that of ordinary contemporary elves, given the hurry that he appears to be in. Let's face it, he's 44 now, his youth is pretty much behind him, and he still has to save the world.
Lav is almost certainly not his first love, but she may well be his last love.
Not only that but what kind of a ****** god do you need to be to give even the smallest modicum of power to a MAGISTER DARKSPAWN?! I don't care how weak you were from a long slumber, a multi-millenia old being would know better and hence, my problem with the writing for Solas. [/spoiler]
Seems to me pretty clear that Solas does not think of himself as a god, so I see no reason why we should think that he is one, either. Furthermore there is far more tradition of fallible, limited gods then there is of omniscient, all knowing, all-powerful gods, which is only a recent development and a fairly limiting one for any form of creative endeavour. I really like Solas as he is, but I can appreciate your disappointment.

It would seem that Solas gave the orb to Corypheus fully intending for him to unlock it. That's what he wanted. He simply assumed that Corypheus would be killed in the resulting explosion (which, to be fair, he probably was). No one could have guessed that Corypheus would possess an archdemon's ability to regenerate in a new body. Also I think Solas just underestimated Corypheus. He is kind of arrogant. (kind of… lmao).
Solas isn't infallible (he's sort of the king of poor decision making, it's his thing). And it would seem that none of the 'gods' were. They're far from the omnipotent beings we've come to expect from the term 'God'. From comments/evidence produced in game, it would appear that the Elven Pantheon were no more than incredibly powerful beings, with the term 'God' being either self declared or retroactively applied by others.
Solas' poor decisions are part of what make him an interesting character. There's nothing compelling about someone who just always gets everything right and never messes up. If he were perfect from the start there'd be no way for his character to develop.
(And the romance is notably lacking in scenes when compared to the other romance arcs so… can't fault your opinion on that one.)
Y'alll need Andraste.
My love of playing a mage in DA2 is 25% because it's my favourite class, 25% because I think the story works best with a mage and 50% because I would kill Beth myself if it meant protecting Carver (sorry Beth).
I played DAO exclusively as a rogue because I felt that was the best way to make sure you could get all the loot (Zevran and Leliana being weaker in the damage department than say Alistair or Morrigan, so I don't take them around much). So when it came to DA2, I was eager to play a different class. And I just love, love, love Bethany. There's no way I'd ever be able to play a mage and put up with Carver the whole game - I tried it once. That playthrough did not last very long.
I just love Bethany.

I find Bethany a very shallow character compared to Carver. And I really do love playing mages. In DAO I was a rogue!Tabris until I controlled Morrigan and fell in love with the class. In DA2 it's my favourite class, favourite version of the story and favourite sibling. Trust me, rival!Warden Carver + sarcastic Hawke is the best. The relationship is pretty much Hawke trying to get Carver to lighten up and Carver being 'sister no.' Then he grows up a ton and admits what an ass he was. I think my favourite Carver/Hawke sibling moment is at the end of Fenris' recruitment. Fenris immediately starts insulting Hawke's magic and Carver leaps in with a 'you have a problem with my sister, you have a problem with me.' Anyone who thinks that Carver's problem is with magic is just not paying attention. Carver doesn't hate magic, he hates Hawke putting herself in danger from the Templers by helping other mages. He even makes it clear in early Act I that he wouldn't let the take Hawke to the Gallows alone. If Templers are taking one of them in, they're taking them both even though he's not a mage. Because he does love his sibling, even if he acts like a prat.
*blinks*
Ummm, sorry. That got a little bit away from me.
tl;dr I have a lot of feels about Carver.
And yes, I'm a Brit.
EDIT: If you play on PC there's an unlock spell for mages, and a mod that backports the Manuals of Focus into DAO. Means you can actually make Leliana and Zev useful and open locks without them.
That WoT pic is interesting, though Fiona's lack of inclusion is very sad.

Bethany and Carver, are the only companions I liked in DA:2, along with Varric. It makes choosing which class to be really difficult lol.
