Why is there no Carver?

 Adding my voice to those who experiences feelings in a huge way.  In my opinion, being extremely emotive is certainly not something to feel ashamed of,

 

 I have similarly learned to poke fun at my ability to feel ultra deeply or cry at news articles or the right combination of whatever triggers it.

I know those who do not react in the same way to or believe the same things often have a shame-subtext (we are different therefore you are strange, your reactions are inferior to my own) in the joking, so if I have contributed to this, I apologize, as it was not my intent. I was just trying to make a distinction, though, between the capacity to feel emotion, intensely or otherwise, and the demonstration of emotion, intensely or otherwise. The common association between the two often divides where it needn't.

 

I only ask that you consider it, because those ideas being linked in people's minds often leads to the assumption that someone who is not demonstrating emotion does not think/feel/care about a situation, when it may well be that they care so much they have put their own feelings aside in order to deal with it. This is, of course, not true for everyone, but that goes for many things.

This may seem random but I finally took the time to read all 8 chapters of Aicosu's Message Sent and right now, I am just dying of cuteness, feels, and squeeing like a madwoman.

Never took it that way. I have had this kind of conversation with others before. Some of us are just more outwardly demonstrative. I went to Imagur just now and clicked on a picture of a cute puppy and was then treated to tears over someone putting the family dog down due to illness. I don't think being more outwardly expressive means that others who aren't like this are lacking in feelings or anything.

 

And you just reminded me of one of my favorite Solas moments from a dislike path.

 

 

It's delicious snark on his part, but the pain behind it is there. We know it is, as a part of who he is, but this is essentially, one person's frustration with a lack of outward expression in this conversation.

As far as dreams go, I woke up from one where DA and Doctor Who mashed up together and I got stuck on a ship (sea, not space) battling some enemies and at the end, one of the remaining people (there were 4 of us) wound up a cyberman, so because of alleged taint on the ship, my boyfriend declared he couldn't be with me, but Solas was also post-breakup so I guess I was some mix of myself and Lavellan and what the hell are you doing, brain?

 I was told it's possible. You can get Solas to minimum approval (the hitting scene) and then back up to a romance even. But it requires deliberate planing and postponing of quests. And I myself did not try it yet.

 

Yes, sorry I wasn't clear - I did this, too. I took selected disapproval dialogues with him, wanting the Dalish one in particular, and then swung around to romance afterward to simulate a ... I don't know, Beauty and the Beast style relationship*?  Bittersweet and strange, finding you can change, learning you were wrong... As well as giving the character more insight into what was going on, since he's more revealing in argument.

 

It's just that I'm not sure how much disapproval it took to get there. I had to speedrun the early stuff a few times to get the right amount, but lost count in the process. I had intended to find out either an exact number or, if plot-locked, a plot-point, in order to provide more information than the wiki had, but was unable to do so in the end.

 

*This amuses my mate to no end. People do not come away from conversation with me and think of Disney movies, but I do have nieces...
