The fact that Weekes is head writer does give me some hope.

 

But he's all about fan tears. I mean, he wrote Rannoch for ME3. Which was beautiful, but also incredibly soul crushingly sad.

 

And he killed off Best Elf...

Damn it.  I was happy in the Solavellan hellspiral shallows.  It was warm and occasionally sunny and I had a nice comfy cabana there.  And you're all pulling me back into the actual storm.

 

I DON'T WANNA FEEL THESE FEELS.  I'm gonna go watch Star Wars instead.  

I try to make fun of him but I think all I can do is make people feel sad.  I manage to make Elora cry about once a day about Samson.  Even gave Liz feels over my Solas meta.  

He's just too sad.  I feel for him, but  maybe I'm just on the crazy ex-gf train of 'oh we'll see him again.  it'll be ok. IT WILL BE OK' . jk my lavellan is not that crazy. i have to agree with you sable on JoH. it was just too optimistic and too heartening for me to feel sad. I think once we get ALL the DLC and i can properly play through the story in one go - that one is going after Solas leaves.  

 

also i was just at a concert where I was imbued with a sense of...self-importance. what kind of ******* goes to an indoor concert and wears sunglasses. also there was a serious lack of metal at this concert.  i was very sad. the things i do for my friends.

Well...even if the ending is sad..if it's done in a beautiful way..it won't be so bad...  We'll be able to cry for a while and then move on. 

 

If it's done badly, we'll all be pissed off forever!!

I didn't see it that way. I think it gives your Inquisitor a sense of purpose AND you can be optimistic about Solas' return.  These things are not mutually exclusive.  Even at the end - Ameridan was still pretty positive and reassuring.

Yea.  No, it doesn't push the story further but I thought it added an incredible sense of depth to the world. I thought the lore presented is almost all foreshadowing.  I don't think anything that was put was just in there for nothing. I know in the past, there's been a tendency for the LIs that female PCs can romance to turn out tragically (Thane) or just plain badly (Jacob).  Hopefully that's not deliberate, and Solas's romance gets some kind of resolution like Morrigan's did.

i think their handling of thane was wasteful and cliche, and i suspect p.dubs would have more of an issue with that than championing the rights and happiness of fan girls.

rannoch *could* be sad, you got a choice about tali jumping off that cliff.

 

legion always dies but only sort of? He was introduced very late in me2 and didn't have a lot of screen time. His character arc on rannoch was way better and his death was a meaningful climax to that story, not just a cheap gimmick.

 

me3 had so many tragic heroic deaths it stopped being sad and started being almost hilariously predictable like oh wow who's it going to be this time oops there goes miranda. interspersed with unskippable, slow mo dream sequences of you chasing a dead child through a forest. because ART.

 

rannoch was a nice balance, plus you got to play chicken with a reaper.

I don't think it will. I sincerely don't. Obviously I can't be certain, but like the fandom is so insanely loud and have been pestering and begging PW to resolve this and for more info, I don't think they will be ignored.  I don't think they would have set it up that way to just let it go.  

 

 So unless BW/EA go completely bankrupt...I think we'll get something.

Legion and EDI - that whole thing. holy ****. i cry every time, really hard.  it has not gotten better with time. it was so well done.

Let me tell you a little story. About this girl who's been looking to break into her amazing new career and has been unemployed for a thousand years at least. And this girl looked at this amazing job posting yesterday, which this girl believed she was totes under-qualified for, and almost didn't apply to. She actually closed the tab. But then it nagged at her for several minutes. So she said to herself, **** it, and re-opened the tab and applied. Then got called for an interview within the next two hours.
