i know a lot of you have moved on to equine faced ex templars and blighted priests but i'm still pretty hung up on this
it's so sad, and i just know i'm not getting any more content for this ship because solas as an antagonist is so much more useful to the writers than throwing a bone to those who romanced him
Laidlaw said they would only address some of the prologue. Worst case scenario we do track him down but he leaves again to be the antagonist of da4, and if you romance him you only get one extra little snip of dialogue to acknowledge that.
even without the whole stupid pantheon thing, he's still the best love interest i've ever played. He's a huge lore dump, the relationship is an amazingly satisfying slow burn, high quality cut scenes, plus he is a huge bundle of endearing faults and eccentricities.
The dread wolf thing is actually a huge downer for me, i don't like life span differences and bittersweet tragedies and i REALLY hate when they yank control from me and bottle necking everyone into more or less the same world state concerning solas is probably the only thing they can do at this point.
i need the blanket fort
I've been thinking about that worst case scenario lately and I think it's very likely. There's a percentage of people, who don't buy DLCs and are quite vocal about it. They would be furious if the entire post-game epilogue were solved in a DLC instead of DA4.
I really hope I'm wrong, but I'm still scared.
D: Ugh I know! This is what I'm expecting - less than 2 minutes of talking to Solas with one extra romance-specific line. Then he's gone. Poof. Onto being the DA4 antagonist if he's not already dead...
I'm so depressed right now. I just want Solas and Lavellan to run off into the Fade together.
Yes! The the two of them reuniting in the Fade has been at the top of my "I wish it would end like this" list.
Hypothetical scenario:
The Inquisitor's path will be resolved in a DLC where she ends up in the Fade somehow. Maybe there's a rift that can only be closed from the other side and she'll have to be the one to stay behind this time. Whatever the reason, she's gone and in the Fade.
Then cometh DA4, where Solas will die. In his final hour, the new protagonist would approach his dying body and ask if he's sad to go. Solas would say no, because he's certain he died for a good cause and he would be going to the Fade, where someone is already waiting for him. He dies with a smile on his face.
(Not sure if dying would actually result in him ending up in the Fade, but he's a dreamer, he'll figure it out. I don't know how the soul-to-fade mechanics work)
..I'll be in the blanket fort.
