I felt the same way about Liara. She's sweet, but I felt like Bioware has been pushing her on my face when I'm really not interested in romancing her.
As for Tali, I'd love to try romancing her with a male Shep one day. (My male Shep romanced Jack.)
Is expecially evident the favoritism/nudge towards Liara if your Shepard romanced one of the non companions LI. With my Jack romance I always had the impression, thanks to the fact that she appear averywhere a non companion LI is not for "reasons" (Citadel DLC, for example) that she have a big arrow pointed on her "sempai notice meeeeeee!!!"
One of the other motivation I don't use my save with the Thane romance is because I killed Kaidan in that run. So, my Shep would be forced to became lesbian to not be alone. I would have jumped in a moment the Vega train (if it was possible) in that run. But I don't want to play a run without romance. Already Shep have to endure the end of her story without chance of having a happy ending, at least during the game I want her to be loved.

Hahah! I know, it's nuts. This has without a doubt been the fastest turn-around for obtaining a job I've ever experienced, by a long shot.
To elaborate, I sent in my application Friday afternoon, got a call back within a couple hours, had an interview arranged for the following day (Saturday), and was offered the job on the spot. When they asked me when I wanted to start, I said whenever suits them. So I have already received my employment contract and NDA and all that jazz, and start tomorrow.
So I'm now employed as a 3D Modeller for a VFX studio, working on feature films. *PINCHES SELF HARD*

Let me tell you a little story. About this girl who's been looking to break into her amazing new career and has been unemployed for a thousand years at least. And this girl looked at this amazing job posting yesterday, which this girl believed she was totes under-qualified for, and almost didn't apply to. She actually closed the tab. But then it nagged at her for several minutes. So she said to herself, **** it, and re-opened the tab and applied. Then got called for an interview within the next two hours.
