I very much doubt the Hierophant can be interpreted as meaning equality in relationships, the Hierophant, like the Pope, is an extremely powerful individual, but as in Highlander... 

 

 

 

Sure, the Hierophant is an educator, he wouldn't want you to follow him unless you knew what you were letting yourself in for, but that is not the same as being equal... And note, Solas even puts himself, or rather his mission, over the wellbeing of Mythal's current avatar.

I'm not a tarot expert and I think our readings on the relationship and him differ a bit here(especially on the equality thing). about the tarot: it was chosen specifically for the romance. that's why i look it at that way. but yes it could be read your way as well.  I also am really really hesistant to put any real meaning because a. each tarot has about 7000000000 meanings b. they are dragon age's version of persona cards.  a lovely way to symbolize one aspect of the character's persoanlity or current state.  persona cards are the person to the nth degree. the most YOU. if that makes sense.  persona is all about accepting that part of yourself and also recognizing that is not all that you are.

feel free. anytime i read tarot i rejected about half the meanings to fit the one that made sense to me.  it's so dicey.  i like tarot because  i like the pretty pictures and the fun times you can have with friends reading them. i put as much stock in their meaning as i would in runes inscribed on bones...which is to say none.

EDIT: I take that back. he would have wrote Iron Bull's and I know Laidlaw had said they hoped to expand on the romances in DLC.  BUt that does mean, there is more romance stuff. YAY.

I've always wondered if it's possible for the Tarot cards of DAI to reflect actual Tarot cards in regards to the major and minor arcana. I think that would be really interesting if they did. But I don't know enough about Tarot to even begin an analysis. And in the end, the "tarot" aspect probably relates more to design that specific meaning in regards to traditional tarot cards.

 

Just my musings... 

They do connect with the Major and Minor Arcana. They don't spell it out in the in-game art but if you purchase the Tarot Deck each companion is clearly called out as a specific card. Solas is the Hermit, Hierophant and Tower.

How sweet... Thank you for the reminder Anyway, at least I can hope for a good love scene without any sadness in it. We did get that line "getting you into bed it's just an enjoyable side benefit" and it didn't happen...YET! So maybe this is the love scene Weekes is working on, because he left it unfinished

I had to search Lysas and yes, he's that mage. But I kind of liked that i had a Cole & Lysas "snuggle party" prompt.
 
Whenever anyone tries to remotely sexualize Cole, my squick alarms go off. Like....no....just....don't go there,

I can picture a humanized Cole as being very comforted by physical touch. Then again, snuggling to me isn't necessarily sexual. I snuggle my kids, after all, and my dogs, and there's not a blessed thing nasty about it.

I can't see the inner Circle as a snuggly group (outside of Josephine, maybe) so Cole would have to get his cuddles somewhere else!

The skeptic in me notes the quotation marks and wonders if this was said by someone else and he was merely quoting another writer. But the optimist in me is strangling my heart and sobbing on the floor omg omgomg.
