I'm pulling for Dirthamen as the next antagonist. I think Falon'Din is set up as "obvious", but there are a lot of hints in the game for the Dirthy. He's the only other God whose temple we visit. It's Dirthamen's staute in the Fade when you meet up with Flemeth. Something is up with him.
I'm all for this. I have a lot of feelings about Dirthamen.

I agree with you on this. They've taken a LOT of care with this character, and, especially with giving us the chance to spend hours and hours with Solas, in light of all the the Dalish legends about Fen'Harel - they want players to come away with some juxtaposition, to think, to consider what this all means. I think some people really don't pay attention to Solas' subtleties. He's not out to cause anyone harm and, in fact, deeply (DEEPLY) regrets the harm his actions have led to.
I don't buy this antagonist angle and feel like there's a lot more planned here.
If it helps, there's a difference between an "antagonist" and a "villain."
I think that when people claim they don't think Solas will be an antagonist because the devs have gone to a lot of trouble to make him sympathetic, deeply caring of others, and show that he isn't "muahahaha!" evil or sociopathic or out to hurt anyone, what they mean is they don't think he will become a VILLAIN. As in, "a character who's evil actions or motives are important to the plot," according to Google's dictionary. Key word being "EVIL!!1" (as said by Mermaidman.)
An ANTAGONIST, by contrast, doesn't have to be evil, amoral, or even "antagonistic." An antagonist is just a character who's actions or motives are in contrast to the protagonist. It doesn't have to be out of evilness, malice, or even carelessness. They could very well be sympathetic or likable. Since their actions or motives just happen to contrast or interfere with the protagonist's though, and since we're supposed to root for the protagonist, we hope the protagonist can reach their goal in spite or instead of the antagonist.
We don't know what Solas' ultimate plan is, but it might be something that a future protagonist can't get behind. The devs might very well bend over backwards to show the audience that Solas isn't evil, malicious, unreasonable, or even unsympathetic. But if he wants to do something that the protagonist feels they have to stop, he effectively fills the "antagonist" role. Not villain, just "our desires at an impasse and only one of us can get our way" antagonist.

IMO Flemeth is the sort of character whom you can't afford to overuse. Otherwise it begs the question, "Why isn't Flemeth just doing everything?" since she's clearly older, wiser, and more in-the-loop than the PC will ever be. Sort of like dragging around a high-level NPC in a tabletop game. I was also pretty happy with the conclusion we got to her story in DA:I; a lot of her character was wrapped up in the mystique of who and what she is, and once we found that out, the character IMO had served her purpose.
And the scene with her, Kieran, and Morrigan is one of my favorites in any game ever.
That's a good point, but I suppose my bitterness at Flemeth's apparent end has more to do with the fact that I really don't want Morrigan to be her replacement.

My money is on Falon'Din and Andruil, since they are the only gods you get commentary on beside Mythal and Fen'Harel from Morrigan and/or Solas. But I'd love to see Dirthamen instead (or included).

Ha, no problem, really. I can see how it might have been up for interpretation. And having watched every possible turnout of that scene multiple times, I just love the care in every single option. I love the sequence even as heartbreaking as it all is.
Even if you break up with him instead of locking in the romance, his sad smile and relief and "even in this, you surprise me" it's like.....ughhhh, let me love you, Solas.

I couldn't help it, my boyfriend and I were discussing protests earlier and tactics of rebellions and such and I kept thinking of Solas coaching Sera with how I was explaining historical uses of certain tactics and ways to make them effective.
He thought the protest tactics in question were stupid but something new and I was like....these are old tactics and not direct action is not their only purpose. I should've added da'len.

Me neither. just reblob pretty pictures and try to keep it not personal. I try to keep my hatred of fandom ****** off of there, though sometimes it bleeds. Though I magically have a fair few followers - a lot of them pug-centric blogs for this pug picture I posted once. I HOPE THEY LIKE DRAGON AGE SMUT! And sad pictures of my trash husband. And the soon to be increasing gifs of Deus Ex,Persona, and Fire Emblem. I am so amused by that. I follow a few of them back though because the pictures of pug puppies are super cute. It's kind of pleasant since I've kept it small. I try to reblog fandom things on one dedicated place so as to keep my regular one sort of more 'not quite professional but should anyone google me they might find it somewhere, so let's keep that spare, with a few cute animals and occasional other things. Mostly.
Tarot Cards and their meanings! I used mostly this site since they seemed to have the most basic definitions of the cards that wasn't centered solely on what was pictured on the card itself. Bold was the website's emphasis, not mine. And I've cut a lot from the site to make this shorter.
Probably the most heady-scratchy one is the Hierophant. However, religious context aside (although that in and of itself is fascinating in how it relates to Solas), the Hierophant is in general a character torn between his internal beliefs and external societal structures. And I think that relates to the romance perfectly in that, in the end, he must choose between his duty to the People (his personal internal struggle that he hasn't made known to anyone) and the woman he loves and the life he could have with her (as what might be expected from him from an external standpoint).

I sort of wound up here so as not to drive my close friends nuts with my feelings anymore. And my spiraling. Though it still creeps in, but I guess I was at the point where I could sort of feel them rolling their eyes. 
Though one of them also romanced Solas for a while before she spoiled herself, then went nope and started over and romanced Cullen. She still kind of understands though. But whenever I share things it's like *patpat* Yes, damn,are you STILL like that?
