This is what I always assumed.  Mythal is assoicated with dragons, and that's Flemeth's prefered shifted form.  I just assumed all the gods were shapeshifters and their associated animal was their favourite shift.

 

This was actually forshadowed back in DAO where Mahariel can tell Morrigan they've heard of Dalish keepers with magic like hers when they talk about shapeshifting.

I had a dream that the resident artists were making an art of everyone's Inquisitors. With their Marks posed prominently in some sort of By Your Powers Combined thing. And nikki informed me that They needed me to provide a photo for mine, because they weren't sure how to Lurker handclawthings, so I took to the internets and got references, and then also concept art-ed it. I drew the mark in a slash with a green sharpie, but it was going dry so I just kind of scribbled in it and wrote "pretend I filled this in" with an arrow. Additionally, the part I did (hand, blown up) was in markers, on a plain piece of paper, and I turned it in attached to a reference of a lurker inquisitor done in oils, and I was concerned after the fact that I had not adequately made clear that the latter was not my work.

 

No idea. That is all. Carry on.

Well, now that i have my head cannon all written out, BioWare can do whatever they want. I do think they left it vague so they could bring the sacrificed person back if they chose to. But I doubt they have any plans at the moment.

 

I love Varric. I felt kind of bad making him watch his friends go.

The exact nature of Solas' origin is not important so much as his current behaviour with the rest of the Inquisition. What he knows or doesn't know doesn't excuse the fact that he's keeping his own knowledge from them. We know that dwarves are the only ones besides Formari who can handle lyrium and enchant items. However the ancient elves did it, they must have had some relation with the ancient dwarves, so Solas must know something of what they were like. His incessant questions towards Varric hides his own knowledge of what exactly has been lost. If he's simply coping with his own personal grief he should know better than to transfer it on Varric.

My Qunari Inquisitor is a giant warrior. That alone would intimidate a thin ancient elf who prefers intellectualism. In the last conversation I heard between Solas and the Iron Bull, the latter rebuked Solas' high-minded belief that everyone should have the freedom to pursue their own careers. Iron Bull wins that argument because in a world like that people will get chewed up faster because it lacks the protection and resources to support them.
