I'm usually not one for Solavellan kid AUs but her art is always sooooo adorable.
On a related note, Solas would totally disapprove of this orange earl grey.
So I've pushed myself over the trash line and wrote a kind of mildly smutty little Solavellan thing. This is my first time writing something like this, so I'm sure it's not my best thing ever but it starts off with some painful-ish hope and an unexpected question.

I never thought about how Solas would respond to the question of how he wants to be remembered, but it's an important one for both of them. DLC spoilers:

Okay, I stayed up late for this, but I'm finally done with my fanart of Aicosu's Message Sent fic! Spoilered for size.

It's so lovely Capricorn! And Solas' smattering of freckles. 
So I played JoH AFTER the breakup but before Corypheus so I could have Solas dialogue. Then I finished out my PT. I put Solas in some brand new armor from a schematic that dropped there. And he got a nice new staff to leave with. The new armor though...he had boots on. No holes, no weird-hilarious foot cut out. Just a solid set of shoes. I WAS SO PROUD. BBY WAS LEAVING WITH HIS FEET PROTECTED.
NnnoooooOOO! Solas in actual shoes seems so wrong. Do not want. Want all elves having dirty, stinking bare elf feet with evolved, penguin-like circulatory mechanisms to prevent cold damage. *folds arms*
Also, the prospect of finding new armour schematics in the DLC is exciting. It's almost time...

Regarding Solas's wolf form, I always took it that he's probably a shape-shifter like Morrigan, but favoured a wolf.
Edit: Would have loved to have seen it in game, but I guess it might have been too obvious. x)
I can't decide whether Solas is likely to actually shape-shift (and does so favouring the form of a wolf) or just adopts the wolf for symbolic purposes (or embraces others bestowing it upon him, i.e., Dread Wolf). Either way, I'd be pleased as punch if Solas actually did have the capability to turn into a big scary wolf. Especially if he absolutely decimated something in said form.
As for the other stuff Solas' association with wolves has inspired in certain subsets of the fandom...

I'm not quite 100% satisfied with how that turned out but that was the point upon which the entire thing was built around. How it's kind of double-edged since of how he IS actually remembered, but it's a completely innocent question on her part and relevant to her own experiences.

And then I happily show this WIP to my friend and she spends an entire hour telling me how it's crap, that nothing's really right, etc etc. I feel the little bit of motivation that I had gathered.... fleeing away right now. Someone hug me ;_;

People have probably said this waaay better than me, but it takes a lot of courage to get back into drawing after all those things your parents have said to you about art, and for that I am proud of you. Just continue doing what you love and if drawing is what makes you happy then to heck with all those people trying to tear you down!

I saw hobo Solas as a sort of expression of love... anybody who is in love, especially with a character in a computer game feels a sense of discomfort and disquiet.
For me hobo Solas was an exteriorized expression of this discomfort, a degradation of the figure of Solas himself which would allow the people promoting it to invest it with undesirable traits and thus in a way deal with and rationalise their own particular uncomfortable sexual feelings. Pretty certain it's not antipathy because you don't bother to go through such an exercise in respect to something to which you are indifferent.
Okaaaaaaaay, that's your 50 minutes, see you next Tuesday.

I don't think Sera would be a Slytherin, exactly. Hufflepuff I think would fit her a bit better because she's not out for self gain or personal ambition. So I'd call her borderline since she does approve of some extreme techniques and such but she ultimately tries to be about the little people. Her manner can be, well, on the harsh side, to say the least. And she's a bit more narrowminded about those things she fears or finds very strange and projects that.
I'll take Cole and Krem and I actually do love Sera, for all her flaws.
I'm a nerd, but I'm kind of like the Cole of nerds.

I keep meaning to knit myself a 'Claw scarf because the ones for sale use the movie colours of blue and silver rather than blue and bronze.
