I seem to get a lot of suggestive prompts involving Tranquils. Which....no.
I get suggestive prompts involving Tranquil mages and Otto Alrik or Karras. Or suggestive prompts with them and Anders, Fiona or Adrian. Just... no.

Agreed. But that is a different issue.
I worded that post really, really badly. Glad you actually understood it.

Well, I'm shipping Ace/Sera now. (it could work. Ace is canonically bisexual)
Ace/Sera is a ship that I'm totally onboard with... and does anyone else see Solas and the Seventh Doctor getting along like a house on fire?

I'm not a fan of the way Tranquility is used in writing fanfics. Usually it's used as a cheap source of man-pain.
Cullen's Inquisitor is made tranquil. Cullen's daughter is made tranquil. Solas' Inquisitor is made tranquil. Solas is made tranquil.
It's cheap and rarely depicted with any type of sensitivity.
It's fine when it's used as character discussion when talking about someone like Maddox or the tranquil in general. The ones that I've seen that are more character discussion-y have been really well done. But those are very few and far between.

Blank? What are you talking about? There's a reply and it's always been there and most certainly wasn't added in a few seconds ago.

They would. They totally would. I'm going to need to rewatch some Seven stories now. This is a fanfic that MUST be written *digs out Curse of Fenric and Battlefield*
It's only Tusday and I have my weekend viewing planned!

I've written (or tried to write) a tranquil!Hawke fanfic because I did want to explore how Fenris' view on Tranquility and mages had changed due to his relationship with Hawke (plus, it was a nightmare, so... meh. I can do what I want).
But I agree. It's overused and usually not well done (although Traquility by Geeky-Jazz does it pretty well).

I agree, and I usually steer clear of those types of fics because of those things. Tranquility is pretty horrible, but a story like Maddox....well that is painful but at the same time, interwoven well into other things that add dimension to characters as well as motives you can understand instead of going for the cheap shock.
But the prompt generator really likes to give me suggestive ones with Tranquils, Kieran, or Cole. Like...bad prompt gen. Baaaad.
Off topic: I want to replay my Mahariel/Leliana run and I can't decide between making Mahariel a rogue or a modded mage. What should I go for?
I'd probably go for mage because of party composition, but I'm someone that nearly always does a two mage party. And Origins does have many little things to open. I'm usually a rogue so it's weird whenever I play a mage (my second most played class). even in DAI on my mage run I have trouble keeping back and realize I can't open anything and can do the energize thing I usually switched to Solas for.

I love playing a Dalish mage (and can't see why it wasn't put into the game) but I hate the fact that I can't import her in DA2 or DAI (I think my worldstate for this Mahariel has her as a rogue).
Even more off topic: 'Brother Genitivi and Andraste: Rescue Mission' I'm pretty sure that's the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest, prompt generator.

I've never tried the modded mage - is it just the same origin but as a mage?
I wandered back into DA:O a bit after DAI. It's...difficult playing a mage in that game. But that's just my person preference for faster combat. What I do like is ALL THE SPELLS.

I have a WoW guildie who's getting into Dragon Age and was like, "HALP how to mage?!" I just pointed him toward the arcane warrior/blood mage/battlemage wrecking ball to get him through DA:O as fast as possible. I still love DA:O's character and stories, but man is the gameplay painful sometimes.

It is difficult playing any class in DA:O imo, these days I just play on easy and blast through it. I haven't really liked the combat in any dragon age game, now that I think about it. I'm not a fan of doing backflips and causing earthquakes with my sword, and Da:O was just so slow, although I do miss the executions. ![]()

K, so I'm posting this because I've seen a few youtube vids of other inquisitors punching him after maxing out disapproval but never a female Lavellan. It hurt me to do this but I know some people will like this for cathartic reasons... Also I wonder if I can still romance him after if I slowly work my approval back up on this inquisitor? I did the flirt options back at haven despite royally pissing him off in every other way.

I've been wondering what it would look like for a female Lavellan to punch Solas. Thank you for posting.
I have been told you can work your approval back up after getting this scene, but you have to be deliberate your planning. Never tried it myself. Good luck.

I was staring at this like, "What? What am I looking at? I don't see... oh... there it is!"

I do like the opportunity to hear Solas' dialogue on the low approval path. He gets so harsh and sometimes venomously so (as well as often says many interesting and telling things), but I could never play this way.
Yes! Corypheus, all young and besuited. I don't think I quite nailed his face this time, so it makes sense that you guys weren't sure.
NO! HE IS PERFECT!!! His suit!! His nose! Lip scar! Hair! PERFECT!
You are a goddess!!

Yes, I romanced him on my very first playthrough and only now worked up the curiosity (and the, err, balls?) to do a truly experimental playthrough. It's hard because while I personally side with Solas, I am RPing as an ignoramus inquisitor. Definitely an interesting experience. It's been fun so far.
Danarius/Danarius: Kisses to the Unsuspecting
Spoiler
Fen'harel! I hope that worked.
(see wut I did....made it on-topic. Ya know. With the Fen-thing.)
I think I would've gone with time travel and Danarious unsuspectingly kissing a younger version of himself (and realizing his true sexuality), but this was glorious! Well done. ![]()

While I do hate seeing Solas getting punched and probably would never do that myself, his low approval dialogue is very interesting. Plus, I do sometimes have a thing for angry!Solas. *hides in the dumpster*
