I've been replaying Origins lately, and seeing Shartan in the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest reminded me of a discussion that was on here when those bald elf statues were shown in a screenshot. I don't remember what was said about them very well, but it makes me wonder if either bald was a popular trend back in ye olden days, or if those statues were actually of Shartan? Maybe Solas is a big Shartan fanboy. He was all about freedom and all that.

Either that or in non-Dalish culture shaving one's head has something to do with Shartan's quest for a new elven homeland, or how the humans screwed him over?

I am hoping pretty hard at this point that someone, anyone remembers Cole when it's all said and done.  Maybe the Inquisitor with their crazy Fade hand will be able to?  (Providing they survive.)  Solas may be able to?  It does seem to be his realm of expertise.  He may know something about why people forget Cole.

 

Well, since they said that we'll be able to keep playing after we finish the story, I don't think we'll be doing any dying this time around. I'd have to agree on Solas and the Quizzy remembering him, as well.

Cole: What's wrong?

Solas: ...Hmm? What?

Cole: You seem... different. Tense. Is it something to do with Crestwood?

Solas: You're kind to ask, but I'm- actually. *sigh* Yes, yes Crestwood... bothered me.

Cole: We tried to help, there was nothing more we could do. They will pay for what they did.

Solas: If only it were so simple. Why do people turn against each other in times of chaos? They try, they fight for what they believe is just.

Cole: The Red Templars are not just. I've seen what they do.

Solas: From their perspective they think they're doing the right thing. Weather it is or isn't is subjective.

Cole: ... You're difficult to comfort.

Solas: *Chuckles* The thought counts, trust me.

 

2. Solas cooking lunch for Cassandra

*Solas is cooking on the campfire*

 

Cassandra: *sniffs* What is that smell?

Solas: I'm making lunch!

Cassandra: ...Okay. It, uh, smells good.

Solas: Thank you. You can have some, if you want.

Cassandra: Very well. *takes a sip* ... *her face twists*

Solas: What's wrong? You look like you've seen Sera steal from a chanter.

Cassandra: What's in this? 

Solas: Does it taste awful?

Cassandra: No! No, no... it's... nice. I can taste some... basil?

Solas: *silent for a moment, looks at Cass incredulously, then bursts out laughing*

Cassandra: What!?

Solas: Basil! *laughs* It's not soup, it's *doubles over* it's the water I use to clean my apothecary tools with. *continues to laugh*

Cassandra: *grits her teeth* Amazing. Just great. 

 

3. Solas suspects that the Inquisitor is a werewolf. Inquisitor is actually hiding a more mundane secret.

Solas: Inquisitor, I have a question, if you don't mind.

Inquisitor: Go ahead.

Solas: I've been noticing a growing number of short white hairs around Skyhold.

Inquisitor: Well that wasn't a question, more of an observation.

Solas: Would... you have anything to do with that?

Inquisitor: No. Why do you ask?

Solas: I was simply wondering if you were a shapeshifter.

Inquisitor: ... Excuse me?

Solas: You're a mage, you run off into the woods for hours in the mornings and there are copious amounts of hair near your chambers.

Inquisitor: I can assure you the answer is very dull.

Solas: Do tell.

Inquisitor: I got a Fennec! I don't know what to name him though.

Solas: You were right, that is dull.

So I've been quiet for a few days... Mostly because the relative radio silence and lack of anything to talk about has left me with nothing to be excited about and therefore I've gone back to worrying about DA:I instead... And I didn't want to post my thoughts of "WHAT IF (INSERT NEGATIVE THING HERE)" and be a downer... BUT THEN THAT GENERATOR and i'm just gonna leave this here ok,

Cassandra: [knocking on locked door] Lavellan? Are you in there? How long are you planning to take?
Lavellan: Forever.
Cassandra: Excuse me?
Lavellan: I'm not coming out! This dress is ridiculous! I refuse!
Cassandra: [heated] You can't refuse---
Lavellan: Well, unless you're planning to break down the door---
Varric: Wait, wait. Are you sure that's a challenge you want to issue, Inquisitor? Think carefully.
Lavellan: Oh, I doubt our lovely Orlesian hosts would be thrilled at the sight of that.
Cassandra: [voice rising] Don't be a child! We are here for a reason. If I can wear one of these absurd creations, then so can you. If Sera can, then so can you. Flames, The Iron Bull is wearing a suit! If he can manage that, then---
Lavellan: ...Bull's wearing a suit?
Bull: [smirking] If you come out, I promise to give you a good eyeful.

After a moment of silence from beyond the door, Cassandra loses her last shred of patience.

Cassandra: That's it. Varric! Unlock the door.
[there is a gust of cold air and within seconds, the doorknob is buried within ice]
Lavellan: I don't think so.
Cassandra: [fuming now] Andraste's flaming sword! Where is Vivienne?
Solas: [steps up from where he has been standing quietly against the wall] Cassandra, if you'll let me?
Cassandra: [still glaring at door] Alright. Solas will melt the ice, then Varric, you---
Solas: [blinking] This... isn't a battle plan, Seeker. Just... let me talk to her, yes?
Cassandra: [eyeing him skeptically] And what is that supposed to accomplish?
Varric: [sighs heavily and rubs forehead] Look, just let him try. It's better than you screaming at this door for another hour.
Cassandra: [scowling] Fine. But keep your lockpick ready. I'm not playing this game any longer if he fails.

The crowd slowly disperses and Solas approaches the door alone while Cassandra glares at it from a distance.

Solas: [knocking on door] Inquisitor?
Lavellan: ...What?
Solas: It's just me. Might you let me in?
Lavellan: [hesitating] Cassandra's gone?
Solas: Yes. I believe she's content to glare from across the room for the moment.
Lavellan: Then make it quick.
 

The ice melts from the doorknob and it unlocks with a soft click. Solas steps inside and the Inquisitor springs from her hiding place in the shadows to slam it shut behind him. She latches it quickly before the Seeker can charge while Solas observes her calmly from behind.

Lavellan: [cringing as he looks at her, mortified at being seen] Well?
Solas: Well what?
Lavellan: [crosses arms across chest and narrows eyes] Did you want something?
Solas: Yes. I want you to come outside.
Lavellan: [snorts and crosses to the other side of the room, away from him] I don't think so.
Solas: [eyes her carefully, taking in the details of the long, dark green gown that clothes her] I see Madame De Fer didn't skimp on the details. Are those little leaves in the embroidery?
Lavellan: [still glaring] What of them?
Solas: They suit you.
Lavellan: Suit me? [rounds on him, eyes bright with anger] This ridiculous Orlesian construct suits me? Perhaps if it were wreathed in flame!
Solas: [takes a cautious step towards the angry Dalish mage] Now, now. It could've been puffy and golden?
Lavellan: [sighs, deflating with defeat] That's not the point.
Solas: I know.
Lavellan: Then what would you have me do? Go out there and smile and pretend that these people wouldn't rip me to shreds faster than any Fade beast if it weren't for this foolish glowing hand?
Solas: Perhaps. Or you could just smile and nod and let Lady Montllyet do all of the talking. Hiding behind Cassandra is also an option.
Lavellan: [laughs despite herself and turns towards him, standing straight instead of trying to hide her form with slouching] It's that easy, is it?
Solas: [offers the Inquisitor his arm] You could also squeeze this whenever you feel the urge to set a human on fire.
Lavellan: [hesitates a moment before slowly taking it] I... suppose that could work.
Solas: [smiles and turns back towards the door] Good. And for what it's worth... I don't think you look ridiculous. I think you look lovely.
Lavellan: [stutters and turns several shades of red while her attempts at a reply are drowned out by Cassandra's shout of "FINALLY!"]

As much as I REALLY want to get these banter prompts done, I ended up drawing Han Solas instead. So here's a picture for the thread.

Hi everyone, I've been away a few days but have dropped back in to see what's new.     Shartan has been my hero up til now and I'm certainly going to play my elf Inquisitor that way.   I can't get enough information on him and am so hoping Solas will be able to help.    So the fact that both are depicted with bald heads may at least partly lie behind my attraction to Solas.    I'm pretty sure the shaven head has some cultural significance since Zathrian had it too, so I'm looking forward to finding out what it is.

It could be The Bull,  the thought of him getting all romantic certainly makes me cringe    he really doesn't look the type, but I'm not sure Solas seems the type either, but it's hard to tell as we've not had any footage of him speaking

I think romantic!Bull would be interesting. This big, hulking mammoth being all romantic--I like the idea.

 

Solas could be romantic in a dweeby way, though. I imagine I will be stuffing my face in a pillow (or under the collar of my shirt) at least once during either romance plot. (If Solas is an LI, as always.)
