I sort of blogged about that yesterday due to feeling it myself. It often just doesn't....stop. But it gets easier to push through. It's an awesome job that I'm sure you wouldn't have gotten the world's fastest interview-slash-hire if you weren't both talented and ready.    I'm sure it will get easier after a bit once you've spent more time doing it.

I'm pretty sure this was confirmed by Weekes in a tweet to be a reference to the film It's A Wonderful Life, and Solas' much sadder, yet poignant interpretation of it. I suppose it could still be (somewhat lazy, movie-reference based) foreshadowing, but I much prefer to think it's simply the writers trolling us, while simultaneously displaying Solas' tragic nature in his analysis. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It doesn't end in tragedy. It's more that it doesn't actually end.  Whatever conclusion there is to the arc it's something we're going to see in a DLC.

I don't know how you can stand to be a human in a 2nd playthrough.

When I play I can't stop myself from rolling elf for RP and Solas reasons. You can last all those hours with Solas regarding your Inquisitor as just friends? That's painful! And hearing his voice all the time? And romancing Cullen/Blackwall/Iron Bull/Sera? Bleh! 

Okay I'll stop xD I just can't stay away from Solas even when I hate him. 

Oh it's quite the challenge -.- That voice of his...swoon lol but I have to rebound a bit with some sweet Cullen attention and if I play as an elf I will just be tempted to run after Solas again. Which would be very bad for me and my family will have to put up with the break up music coming from my room again.

I would give them the benefit of doubt and assume they just don't know how what they are doing is wrong. With my Tumblr skills, I know I'd probably end up making the same mistake.

It's nice hearing "vhenan" and "my heart" all the time, but my Inquisitor wants to talk about her new (now old) specialization!

I think you have to pick your specialisation before the balcony scene then he'll talk to you about it.

I think there's a bug where if you progress so far in the game, Solas won't comment on it. Not sure how far exactly.

Oh, I wouldn't hold off because of that. PW seems to love his character enough to give him a decent end...but you never know with BW.

 

So I think if he lives or dies, I am optimistic it will be written beautifully. 

 

I personally think the romance and Solas' character as a whole saved the game for me, to be perfectly honest. DAI was enjoyable to play through once, but I don't think I would have  been all that compelled to play again if he wasn't there.  So for me, whatever tragedy may come will be worth it.  

 

Obvioulsy that's up for you to decide if potential "sads" are worth it.  I know some people just can't do that or don't want. Which is understandable.  Frankly, I think his friendship path will be just as impactful as his romance so there's that.

By the way, I was having a little fun with this site to check how old Solas looks. I used a bunch of screenshots and as it turns out, he apparently looks around 30 to late 40s, depending on the lighting and angle.

Sorry Solas, but hats are not for you.  But the detailing on that metal shoulder pad is always really nice.  It's my favorite armor set to put him in actually.

 

My Lavellan's age - I RP her as 28-30.  But she looks like a trainwreck so it'll probably say 40 with some sort of hydrocephaly. She has a HUGE forehead. I'm so happy Black Emporium comes out tuesday.   The one I have now is not my canon but I'm not feeling up to redoing it right now. So i'm just going to play her all the way through the end of the DLC until I feeling up to redoing the whole game.

It's on Lady Insanity's tumblr.  My work is blocking it for whatever reason but it's one of the first few posts. I don't know if it's just for PC since the confirmation is coming from the Origin page.  It's still free it seems and you get 4 new armor sets!
