Look at pictures of Solas instead. While possibly hard on the heart, it's much better for sanity and keeping murderous rage in check.
I also recommend pictures of Cassandra and practical armour.

This is so weird (the French voice and how different it is).

Oooooh, now I'm curious about other languages. That's awesome!
Yeah. I kinda want Dorian to join Fenris on a "slave trader hunt" and whittle down their numbers. Plus, Dorian is now in an even better position of power and he will have an enormous voice among the nobles in Tevinter now with the Inquisition backing him. That'd be pretty cool actually. Start a Slaver Hunting Army XD
I think it would be even better if Dorian started a slavery abolition political movement a la Wilberforce... Dorian could do that, he has the breeding and the charisma, I'm sure there must be already anti-slavers in Trevinter they're probably just dismissed as losers, who are crying out for a figurehead... In fact Dorian resembles Wilberforce ("the wittiest man in England"), quite a lot.
Sometimes I think Solas is a bit like Flemeth "nudging history along".
I sometimes venture out into the other forum threads when curiosity strikes and it definitely reminds me why I am in here most of the time.
If we don't get a satisfying conclusion....we gather apes...or something.

So Weekes thinks of Solas as an Elven Dr Who???
How great is that!
Can someone do a montage please... Solas emerging from the Tardis would be good...

He seems to think of him as a Time Lord, rather than the Doctor.
The Gallifreyan society actually has a lot in common with what we know or have inferred from elven society. The Time Lords made up only a small part of the Gallifreyan population (like the elven gods) and it wasn't something you were born into but rather something you became (again, like the gods). They also have powers that would be considered godlike, but they're just people and not infallible.
Also, he's the Doctor, not Doctor Who.

It seems I must bow to your superior expertise... If
What I like about the comparison is that it hints at a possible continuity for Solas in the style of Flemeth... Of course what it means for the romance is... "Well, goodbye nice knowing you, I have things to do the other side of Thedas... See you perhaps next game..." which wouldn't actually be too bad...
Elven Time Lord fits well, the tenth doctor please.
I see Solas as more being like the Eighth Doctor, a romantic with incredibly sharp wit.
The decision to seal away the Elven Gods and the Forgotten Ones, I like to imagine as being Solas' own private "Night of the Doctor" moment, where he decided that he had to become the bad guy and do something horrible to stop the conflict once and for all, even if it meant betraying his own people and ended up costing him a bit of his soul in the process.
Like the Doctor, we don't see that Solas is apologetic for what he did, but he does seem to regret the act all the same?
YOU LIE!!! I don't see....
Check again!
IS THAT MIDDLE ONE BUNQUIZ?!?!??!!?
Also I approve of the anti Cullen.
You deserve a spot in an art gallery. When the aliens come to excavate what is left of humanity your art will remain to tell the tale. <3333
I already know how they would respond...

(Yea, sorry, it's ten. But this worked best.)
Anyway, though I also find "eleven" distracting, just like you, Solas has nothing of Matt Smith's incarnation, so Weekes just cannot have thought of him. Must be "time lords in general", as Illyria proposed.
Though now that it's mentioned, I could roll with him being twelve because I sure think Solas resembles Capaldi's Doctor...
I could totally envision the Ancient Elves as being like the Time Lords, haughty geniuses who can live forever (barring accidents), have mastered dimensional engineering (the Crossroads) and who subscribe to the crystal spires school of thought when it comes to their architecture.
"Smart bunch Time Lords Ancient Elves... bad dress sense, dreadful hats... but smart!"

I hope he's not like any of the modern Doctors.
I'm not keen on the direction Moffat is taking the show, or his handling of Capaldi's Doctor.

I've grown increasingly fed up with Moffat's take on the show. Considering what he's capable of with Sherlock, I must assume he just can't sci-fi.
I loved the tenth cycle, despite its flaws, maybe for Tennant. But it got worse with every episode. Though I really liked Smith, even he couldn't make up for all the bad ideas and inconsistencies.
Anyway, I still tried Capaldi. And, definitely, no doubt about it, that's better.

I love LOVE Capaldi. I think he's a fantastic actor and a great choice for the Doctor. Moffat just can't write his Doctor at all.
Moffat has a real inability to write women. And male/female relationship. And a satisfying conclusion to a story arc. And a lot of things right now. And it's frustrating because I know he's a good writer. He's just not showing it right now. Doctor Who needs a new showrunner. But then, the show has always had its ups and downs. I've seen the worst of Salward, JNT and Pip and Jane Baker. Moffat has nothing on them. Yet.
I'm even getting fed up with Sherlock due the plot holes, overt Mary Sueness of Sherlock and the mishandling of both Irene and Mary.
On topic: working on that Doctor Who/DA crossover. The Sera/Ace pairing makes so much sense it's scary.

I broke up with THE DOCTOR following Ecclestone basically, I loved Ecclestone... Actually I love Ecclestone in anything... Tennant was OK. I didn't last til Smith...
Now my bae Wayne, he's a die-hard whovian.

I enjoy Moffat overall, but I do feel that his latest writing hasn't been up to snuff with some of his earlier stuff, he did better when he was contributing a script a year to the show because he had time to really polish it to something amazing.
As for Capaldi, I enjoy him a lot, but I wish he was darker like Moffat said over and over again before S8 that he would be. I feel like he's not being pushed to do nearly enough, not given any real storylines of his own and he's frequently coming across like a guest star in his own show?
And as much as I love Jenna Coleman, I'm sick to death of Clara and wish she'd go already instead of hanging about the TARDIS like a bad smell trapped in a lift? Let's face it, her storyline is over, she's got not much chemistry with the Twelfth Doctor and at this point, they come across less as friends and more like two people who don't know how to leave a relationship that's clearly over. We've had so many ways to get rid of her at this point, her refusing to leave is just getting grating. Plus after 3 years, I still don't know much about her character than I did at the start? Aside from that she's a control freak, not a very good girlfriend and kinda made Danny's death more about her than him?
Ahem... let's just say that I think Weekes writes better and more interesting characters and Time Lords, even if they are technically Elves.

I agree with much of what you said. Moffat was a much better writer than he is showrunner. But then, I didn't think much of RTD as a showrunner either.
And Clara needs to go. Jenna Coleman is doing a great job with the acting but she and Capaldi have no chemistry and Moffat has never really done anything with the character. I would've rather seen Oswin Oswald as a companion. I felt I knew her better in one episode than I have Clara in a couple of seasons. And her relationship with 12 is... just horrible. I like that he's written out the flirting, but this is where Moffat has problems. He can't seem to write male/female relationships without the flirting so his replacement is basically hositlity. And that's worse than the flirting. At least with the flirting I got the impression that Clara and the Doctor liked each other.
Also, Osgood should've been a companion. Osgood was awesome.
I need professional help.

Yeah, without his usual subtext that everyone wants to slept with each other, the arguing comes across as more hostile than playful banter?
If Series 8 had a subtitle, it'd be "The Series of People Bickering"... seriously, was there a moment where any of the characters actually got along? I felt that out of all of the inter-character relationships, the Master and the Doctor were the least hostile towards each other! When your arch-frenemy argues less and wants to be your friend more than your companion does, that's not a good sign.
Osgood was awesome, why couldn't we have had her? Or Victorian Clara, she actually had a fairly well-rounded character, backstory and personality, even if the episode she was in wasn't that great. Clara-Prime is actually the least interesting and engaging version of her.
Moffat needs to learn to let go of characters. As much as I liked them, Amy and Rory stayed around for far too long, which bugged me since they had a great exit at the end of S6. Yet for some reason, he brought them back for four more fairly bland episodes, before killing them off simply so he couldn't be tempted to use them again? Especially when that exit had plotholes larger than the Breach and obvious ways they could have gotten back to the present without causing any paradoxes, despite the episode insisting otherwise?
