Yeah, without his usual subtext that everyone wants to slept with each other, the arguing comes across as more hostile than playful banter?
If Series 8 had a subtitle, it'd be "The Series of People Bickering"... seriously, was there a moment where any of the characters actually got along? I felt that out of all of the inter-character relationships, the Master and the Doctor were the least hostile towards each other! When your arch-frenemy argues less and wants to be your friend more than your companion does, that's not a good sign.
Osgood was awesome, why couldn't we have had her? Or Victorian Clara, she actually had a fairly well-rounded character, backstory and personality, even if the episode she was in wasn't that great. Clara-Prime is actually the least interesting and engaging version of her.
Moffat needs to learn to let go of characters. As much as I liked them, Amy and Rory stayed around for far too long, which bugged me since they had a great exit at the end of S6. Yet for some reason, he brought them back for four more fairly bland episodes, before killing them off simply so he couldn't be tempted to use them again? Especially when that exit had plotholes larger than the Breach and obvious ways they could have gotten back to the present without causing any paradoxes, despite the episode insisting otherwise?
The way Amy and Rory were written out annoyed me. It's not Zoe and Jamie or Donna level of annoyance, but it's still annoyance. Part of their arc was learning to be grownups and Moffat had the chance to write them out at the end of Power of Three but then had them 'killed' in a really stupid way just so they wouldn't be able to come back (sorry, Moff, but there's 101 ways they could come back from that...)
Danny was another wasted character. His first episode had him being a bit dorky and sweet, but the he was just so miserable the rest of the time. With Amy and Rory we got to see a lot of their more normal relationship, but with Clara and Danny it was misery, misery, misery.
On topic: Solas.

You captured Varric's chest hair so well. I can see each individual follicle, like a window into his soul.

I've grown increasingly fed up with Moffat's take on the show. Considering what he's capable of with Sherlock, I must assume he just can't sci-fi.
I loved the tenth cycle, despite its flaws, maybe for Tennant. But it got worse with every episode. Though I really liked Smith, even he couldn't make up for all the bad ideas and inconsistencies.
Anyway, I still tried Capaldi. And, definitely, no doubt about it, that's better.

My only experience with Dr. Who was watching that Christmas special a couple of years ago when the new Doctor was revealed. Omg. I have never been more confused in my entire life. It was the most wack-a-doodle thing I have ever watched(I take that back 'The Prisoner' still holds the top spot...but I love that show). My cousin, who is a big fan, was trying to explain it to me and then just gave up and was like 'yeah, it can be a bit nonsense'. This is some good photoshopping though.
Regarding Moffat: Moffat can't seem to get it together in general. He seems to have a few solid ideas but then long term handling...no.
Don't get me started on Sherlock. Season 3. WHY WAS IT? I am so glad that Moriarty is back in the mix. Maybe it'll pick back up. 3 was such a mess.

I enjoyed season one (except for the kind of racist second episode), liked season two (except for the huge mishandling of Irene Adler) and really, really didn't like season three.

I'll go with the obvious (and boring) answer that it would either be a halla or a hart. Yeah... ![]()

I could see him on a beautiful white (golden?) halla.
Or is that too cliche ...
It would still be beautiful!

That's the thing, I think something a bit more modest, but I'm also one of the ones who loves dressing/seeing Solas in things that are nice and regal looking. Hence the power of the silk brocade. There's a balance somewhere between hobo and flashy god type (which, given his words, he wouldn't seem likely to want to be anyway. ![]()

Sort of like how in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, everyone expected the Holy Grail to be jewel-encrusted and gold, but it was revealed to actually be a simple wooden cup that a carpenter might make? Yeah, I could see Solas shirking fancy mounts for something nondescript, but I can't think what it'd be?
But I do bet if Solas drove a car, it'd be something like an Opal Kadett... which are just adorable.

Ehehehe.
Sorry, got distracted. Carry on.
About Doctor Who I only want to say that discussing logical inconsistencies or plot holes is like debating the existence of aluminium foil or something. This is not a philosophical question whether or not they exist... I got annoyed when they start to break their own rules (which happened somewhere around the second half of Ten and got much worse with Eleven). I can't stand that.
In general though I cannot contribute much here. This is the point where I must admit that I only watch those (any) shows on Netflix, and also very infrequently and late. I watched Doctor Who and the first season of Sherlock, not more. If it weren't for other people who consider watching TV a social aspect, I might never come across TV series at all. It's not like I didn't enjoy these shows. It's just... I enjoy gaming more.

Yeah. When you're watching a show that can't even get what decade a huge chunk of the third and fourth Doctor stories were set in, you know you're not dealing with a show that has an air tight continuity. And as a fan it's just one of those things I've accepted about it. What I don't like is the way the show is being done now. It's not a feeling about the show I can describe, it just is.
It's probably to do with the veil being thin or spirits or something. Hey, that was a nice segue back on topic!
And now I'm back on topic: here's a blast from the past

First proper picture of Solas we ever saw (there were a few of the back of his head in the Val Royeaux screenshots, but they don't count)
I can see why he got that flap thing in his in-game outfit now. This look would be... distracting.

Spoiler
Personally, I ship Felassan and Bria. Weekes only confirmed that Celene is a lesbian, not Briala.
I still think the best option is Celene/Briala ruling. Even with their past they still love each other and Celene finally starts making good on those promises. It wont last, though.
EDIT: As for Best Elf's killer. I think it's whatever god he was bound to. It being Mythal or Solas makes no sense.
