Luckily I saw it by accident and didn't know much about it before. Apart from that there's fighting in it. And I knew fight clubs alright. But nothing else.

I remember when it first came out that I was very put off by its popularity because it seemed that every Brad Pitt fan girl in existence was raving about it, and at that point I thought that Brad Pitt, like Tom Cruise, was just a passing, overrated, fad. I was wrong. So it wasn't until several years following its release that I actually saw it. It is fantastic! It is controversial, critical of our current society and extraordinarily well acted not only by Brad Pitt but by Ed Norton and Helena Bonham Carter (even Meat Loaf!), the end is great.
And if you like reading, the book by Chuck Palahniuk is a modern classic.
PS And director David Fincher has been a favourite ever since.

I don't think I could decide... they do differ enough to see them as two different pieces of work, both extraordinary in their own right.
I think, Maria was on point. It is just exceptional on every level and regarding every issue it points its finger at, from the IKEA world to the (re)solution.
And I had known that Norton was a great actor before, Pitt was the surprise for me. I came to appreciate him, not only because of Fight Club, also 12 Monkeys etc. But Fight Club was just his breakaway from the romantic comedy stuff I had associated him with.

Yep. Yep. Already in my head. Solas starts a Fight Club amongst the members of the Inquisition. Everyone's in it, but no one acknowledges it's existence. Nerdy, distant Solas by day. Fight Club, philosophy-spouting Solas by night. Lavellan all caught up in the middle - Cassandra wondering why she's covered in bruises all the time.
It's a thing. It's in my head.
I kind of stumbled on Edward Norton in Primal Fear, which was a great job by him and that was probably the first time I ever saw him in anything that I paid attention to and wasn't a comedy.
I'll have to finally watch Fight Club sometime. Boyfriend has also recommended it and would probably want to watch with me. Though we are severely overloaded on TV right now and Witcher 3 is coming for him.
Instead of taking lunch and tooling around in Black Empire, I'm reading about severe bleeding (I'm going to use this in some writing, but I'm also...fascinated by what I've been reading.).
I think any veneer of not-weirdness on my part is truly gone.
