Well. Remember, he didn't actually bring Lavellan there to tell her about the vallaslin, rofl! He chickened out about telling her the -real truth- and that was his omg I need to tell her something, quick Solas be smooth! moment.

Yep, exactly. Plus, I don't think it affects that comment by Corypheus. Sure, a non-romanced Lavellan won't know why he says that, but he's ancient too, and so those words might be true but non-romanced Lavellan doesn't have a more benevolent source to mention that.  And that's okay, storywise. Not all things have to match up.

 

And if you've played through a Solas romance at least once before, you'll know, just like how you'll pick up on other things during a second+ playthrough.

I find it interesting, especially in fan art, how tall people make Lavellan in relation to Solas. She's not THAT much shorter than him, but I feel like more artists tend to draw her on the shorter side. So that "embrace" piece  looks 'right' to my eye because she's leaning into him.

 

But the game kind of screws with this too, because I think she looks taller in comparison in regular play than in, say, the Crestwood scene. I've got to pay more attention to this.

I'd be all excited about BE, too, but at the moment I'll be excited to get my recently (as in last night) shot computer to work again so I can painstakingly reinstall Inquisition.......! For hours......... and hours..... and hours.............. and then download the patches which with this internet will take days....! Yaaaaaay............... My life hates me sometimes. But yay anyway! One day soon I shall glory in this!

Ooh, I've been wondering about this since I've been playing my mLavellan - I like the touch that it's a romance thing, but at the same time I can't help but feel my guy is shortchanged. He could like, find out somewhere or something, or it would be even more dramatic if Corypheus taunted you clearly enough so that you'd understand, thereby making Solas' explanation/removal all the more touching because he spared you from that. Or something. It could work.

Some people like making their Lavellans petite. I wish DA:I had the option for us to change our Inquisitor's height but I guess that would mean more work for the poor animators to animate the romance scenes.

 

And yeah, the height tends to change between cutscenes and regular play, which is weird.

From what I can tell I think Lavellan comes up to about Solas' mouth/nose based on the final romance scene. 

I personally wish she was a bit shorter like standing up to his chin.

It's all down to preference of how they want their Lavellan to look like really, even if the game doesn't allow players to customize their character that way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wish every game had sliders, personally. This way we can all have our characters as we want.

 

I'm almost 5'6" and am one of the short ones on my mom's side of the family and one of the taller ones on my dad's side. I understand how it feels to feel both quite short and (relatively) tall, depending on the group of people you're with.

 

I found my Lavellan way too spindly for the most part, and thought she looked best in armor. I would not have changed my Lavellan's height, but I might have added a bit to her frame slightly. I have definitely seen more variations in art than just height. I find all of this interesting, given the POV of whoever is imagining all of this. Not just visual art but also the way people write them.

And just for you, Sable, I'll finish the thought I had about Carver:

 

Everything he does is failure.  He fails to protect his sisters, he isn't there to protect his mother, he couldn't even step up and become head of the house hold after Malcolm dies because Hawke is there and she's always better at everything than him (but now she's dead because he couldn't save her).

 

Oh, and whether he's a warden or a templer it doesn't matter. The order that he joined and believed in is corrupted away from its purpose and used by Corypheus.

Who, Red Lyrium Carver?  It's probably just as well Hawke dies in the Fade.  He wouldn't want her to see him like that.

 

On-topic, I found out where Solas gets his bags.  They're personalized but I'm not sure if it's Solas or the tote that is reversible.

 

I also have a new theme song for Solas as he's walking away from the final battle.

I was actually going to mention yours because she's one of the adorable short ones. I also like how osatokun draws hers as on the curvier side. My boyfriend and I are almost the same height, so it's a totally different vibe, I bet.

 

Just me being fascinated by how others see (and personalize) the same things. But in game the discrepancies between the regular play and cutscenes does bug me a bit since I notice.

I feel super tall next to my grandma and her sisters and my aunts. Latinas are often on the shorter side and they range from like 4'8" to 5'1". My mom's side, only one of her sisters and my cousin are shorter than me.

I don't like too much height difference, which I guess is partly how I came to be dating a 5'6" man. I think too much height difference makes me feel like a child.

5'8" sounds like a good guess, as he's a bit taller than most elves for reasons but still shorter than, say, Cassandra. I put my Lavellan around 5'3" but all of this is my perception, of course.
