But even real life human relationships deal with mortality. Death can happen whenever. Love is risk in many ways, but on the other side of that is the potential impact it can have.
It's a different dynamic with an immortal or between people with wildly different natural lifespans, but it's not like that idea hasn't been explored before. I liked how Mass Effect managed some of these discussions with regards to a Liara romance, though it could've gone further (so there's headcanon).
And personally I think lifespan is the least of Solas and Lavellan's problems at this point. They need to sort out...well, everything else first
And even if their lifespans are different, Solas could always enter uthenera after she dies if he really can't handle the thought of living without her around.
Also, in the initial codex on Solas, before it updates late game to mention his deception, Leliana mentions that he "guessed" that the mark on the Inquisitor's hand was growing and tied to the Breach. So yes, he knew.
Corypheus was the one who used the orb to create the Anchor. Solas might be able to guess at its properties, but I think Cory was the only one who really knew the full extent of what it could do. Sadly, he's no longer around to enlighten us in his booming, magisterial glory.
