I just thought of something...

 

 

Okay, so Bioware has talked about the fact that there are multiple endings to the game based on your choices and I think they said something about, how in one play through, it was just one or two companions at the final fight.

 

I think it's safe to say, because of the importance of the fade in the storyline, that Solas is a huge asset to the Inquisition. The fact that he view things in gray not only may be apart of his personality but of his isolation from other people.

Well, what if the things you do/say can influence his power? I mean, if you think about it, you can have friends, romances, enemies and a mix in DA. If you were to be pretty dicky throughout the entirety of the game without thinking about things from another perspective (or just plain being ignorant and not listening to him) Solas might get real peeved and feel like, "You guys deserve everything that comes to you."

So he waits until the final boss fight and BAM! SUPERBETRAYAL and uses the knowledge of the fade against them.

 

I know, it might be a long shot...and you might have to make a lot of purposeful mistakes..but that would be pretty badass. I have a thing for villains and anti-heroes. Don't judge me.

Guys! GUYS! I was going through the images on the Dragon age site, and found a pic with Solas in it, he's little, and it's from behind, but still! Anyway, not sure if it's new, or if it was missed, or maybe you guys did see it but it's just not in the OP... Figured I'd post it here just in case: (spoilered for size)

Thanks for the comments.   I was hoping that it would be something along the lines everyone seems to think but there was just the possibility that logical/knowledgeable meant he would simply analyse a situation in a totally impassionate way and not even acknowledge the moral implications of an action.   You see some people might excuse an "ends justifies the means approach" with the idea of "sacrificing for the greater good", whilst I would say "lesser of two evils", whilst Solas might just look at it and say "best option".    

 

It would actually be interesting to hear his views on what Celene did at Halamshiral or her assertion that "if I have to burn one city to save the rest, so be it".   I know Sera would hate that because that almost seems to dismiss the lives of all the little people that go up in smoke as inconsequential.    It might seem that way to a noble but not the people who know them.   

 

Perhaps Solas is there to provide balance because there are going to be people with very strong views about good and evil and when you're being pulled in all sorts of directions by your companions it might be helpful to have one who does put aside emotions and simply analyses the options.   One of the Devs did say that we are going to be encouraged to reflect on our actions rather than just storm through without thinking about the effect we are having.

I totally get you, I'm still not over what they did to Revan T_T (and ME3) it was so unnecessary! They could have kept mentions of Revan vague like they did with the Revanites or infinite engine but noooo they need to throw away our Revans in favor of a straight white guy with dark hair and stubble...really?!

same here. My Surana, Brosca, and expecially Tabris are way too important for me! I feel like those characters are old friends of mine, I can picture them talking to each other!

 

I'm glad I never played SW:TOR, so I never had to see that impostor that sayd he was Revan. yeah.   Revan was female. stop ( ) that man was an impostor, like that goblin that sayd he was Zevran in DA2. those where liars.

Don't anyone dare even mention Exile. My heart oh my god it broke into a million pieces when I found out what they did to Exile.

 

Atton and Exile... they never quite got there...

 

 

I will never play that questline, and it is pains me that I know it exists.
