Apparently it's a bug.  Lavellan's supposed to have a special dialogue option instead of "DERP MYTHAL"

Honestly, I'm not sure where it's from or the link since when I image searched a gif this thread came up (as well as other threads on this forum) and it was posted and reverse image search found no additional versions.

 

It looks to me like the palace during one of the parts where you fight, but I'm not sure. He's dressed in a version of his early armor and so it could be some random place for all we know. I need to pay attention as I play on my mage.

LOL the rotunda is actually one of the most inappropriate places for them to do a bit of elven glory good times but then again, that's also one of the reasons I chose to have them do it there, because I'm a big pervert. (Or I could always headcanon that they were feeling adventurous and daring one late night, snuck into the rotunda, and decided to do the deed there.)

 

I felt bad for kind of destroying a couple of you emotionally earlier, so instead of writing angst, I wrote this fluff instead.

I think I may be sort of peeking out from the hellspiral. I just got some fluff/possible mild romantic smut ideas in the shower.

 

But really, why do ideas come either none or about four things at once? Especially when I'm trying to think of possible karaoke songs for dinner tonight on top of all of this.

While the subject of vallaslin is still fairly fresh in our minds... is my Female Lavellan the only one who opted not to let Solas remove hers? 
 
I'm not disparaging anyone that chose to agree, it just seems that people chose "yes" more often than not and now I'm wondering if I'm an odd duck?
 
I imagine that while my Lavellan knows the Dalish are flawed and often mistaken, she still feels very loyal to them and believes in their cause. Since the devs took forever to reveal which vallaslin represents which deity, I had to headcanon why she picked hers, and came up with layers upon layers of symbolic reasons that honored different aspects of her heritage, family, values, and life (not just the deity). So, when Solas reveals that the vallaslin were originally slave markings, her reaction was basically, "Whatever they were used for in the past, the Dalish have reclaimed them, and this is what they mean to us now." When he offered to remove hers, she just couldn't let him do it because she felt they had become part of her (whatever their original purpose) and just couldn't let him remove what had become such a huge part of her personal and cultural identity.
 
So, what'd you choose and why?

I felt the exact same way. Throughout history, symbols have changed in meaning according to whichever group claimed it at the time. Hitler didn't invent the swastika (? Spelling), and hippies didn't invent the peace sign. These symbols have been around for thousands of years. Whatever the original meaning of the symbols, the Dalish have adopted them into their culture for what is significant for them.

Okay, I started a new play through today, and knowing about Solas from the beginning makes me peeved at him! He keeps making little remarks about how he doesn't know this or that, and I just want to smack him! Oh thank you Solas for keeping me alive for the last few days since I have this bizarre mark on my hand that you DO know all about (you big fat liar! My internal thoughts of course )

I'd rather execute Eamon for he did to Alistair.  The fact that Alistair is grateful for being made to sleep in the kennels and sent off to the Templers because Eamon's wife didn't want him around and there's no option to ever call him out on this is just wrong.

My first playthrough, I liked Eamon. I compared the whole 'kennels and Templar' thing to the very Disney 'adorable bastard/orphan that is treated with a strange mixture of fondness and contempt,' like Wart in Disney's The Sword in the Stone. As for the Templar business, that's fairly typical fare for younger noble sons, as we see with the Trevelyans. Cart them off to the Church, get them an education, but cut them off from succession. And a career in the Chantry was a bit more lucrative.

Of course, trotting off to become a monk in our world didn't involve slaying demons and oppressing/protecting mages while high as a kite on lyrium.   Them's the breaks.

My first playthrough with Return to Ostagar installed is where I started noticing all the shady little hints at Eamon, politely, making a power grab. And trying to set up Alistair as puppet king, and wanting to get Anora off the throne because she 'may' be infertile and wouldn't have much patience for Eamon playing the power behind the throne.

So I tend to either keep Alistair a Grey Warden, or have a hardened Alistair marry Anora while my Warden rides into the sunset at a very irate Loghain's side. 

I approve of the many GIF's, Fight Club Solas, and what-not I've seen over the last few pages.
