If he was this subtle in Inquisition, I can only imagine what the Arlathan divine court was like. :D

And Elgar'nan just sighing in exasperation at it all...

Is it weird that I associate Elgie with Cu Chulainn? A rather angry god, and a rather angry Irishman with warp-spasm rages? *shrug*

I can totally see Elgar'nan falling in love with Mythal/Emer because of her cryptic talk and riddles. :D

...and her getting pissed about his cheating on her with the dwarf empress.  :o

Elgie=Cu Chulainn rather works.  A nice guy until you trigger that warp-spasm rage.

Hmmm....

*runs off to reread the Tain*

Haha... there's about a hundred and three thousand things wrong with my picture and you give me pro tip no. 47.

But good, very clever. I tried it. Don't think I got it right, but I like the slight touch of color it adds. I don't know if I'd see the difference if I didn't know though.

Just maybe... let's not call it art. Feels weird to use that word for my picture, considering how many people in this thread actually produce art:ph34r:

I admire how you people do this. It took me forever and still doesn't look like I wanted it.

Maybe, if I do this again, I should get a mouse? Though the laptop touchpad probably wasn't my greatest weakness.

Okay, beginner's question: the old gods, who are they now? I once read somewhere here they are in fact the gods Solas locked away, only corrupted and called by other names by the Tevinter. But in the end the same entities. Is this the case? If not, who are they then? Different gods, who were also locked away by coincidence? Or do we not know?

And who would be Razikale exactly?

I seen this on the scuttlebut part of the forum, has a little bit on the Old Gods. Doesn't really answer your questions but I thought it was cool.

Spoiler

I'm not really sure if I should be nicking other people's photos, but I don't see the harm in it.

Yeah...same...and I mean long. Like a tiny princess peach or Link. Characters that have resonated with them since they were little so like 28 years.  This is...these tattoos are something else.  It's their body so 'god speed' I suppose. Also, that would have been the last picture I would have tattooed on my body. It's a nice painting and all but just...not one that I would want on me for the rest of my life.

Besides, what if the Solas romance winds up crashing and burning horribly at the end?  (And not in a good way, but in an ME3 Jacob sort of way.)  Awkward breakup tattoo removal  :P

I think if I ever got another nerd tattoo, it'd probably be an Elder Sign, so that one inch of me is protected from horrible cosmic monsters  Or the Hogwarts crest.  Harry Potter's been in my life for a long time now.

this was what I was thinking --like his story isn't even over yet, what if they take it in some terrible direction?

I think I'm entirely too chicken to even attempt a tattoo, but there are book things I would consider that have stayed with me forever, and in terms of game things, to be really cliche...maybe a tiny triforce.

So the tattoo I've got is on the back of my left shoulder.  Only black lines, relatively small, took about an hour to do.  It hurt as much as a nasty sunburn, and that feeling lingered for a couple of days.  After that, totally fine.  It really depends on where you get the tattoo, and how complex it is.

I did briefly consider getting a small N7 tattoo.  Briefly.  Then ME3 came out, and I threw my obligatory nerd hissy fit  :P

It in fact is. Though that whole Legion of the Dead vibe is fascinating in itself.

And we can always count on Keith to speak about dwarves, whether anybody asked or not. :P

Uh... yes... is that bad?

Maybe because people hope that they only cut it to use it for a more extensive DLC instead?

The fact that you used a trackpad amazes me, Siha.  I use a mouse and it's so friggin' difficult to draw a straight line much less draw any kind if details.

I thought they fixed the mustache problem with the last patch?  Dorian still has his up his nose every now and then. Poor guy.

My ears pricked up when I saw that over on the other threads. My only problem is as much as I really want Solas content....I am really scared of it also. I mean.....I just don't see anything but tragedy coming out of it. However, I know I will dance the moment I read/see anything that says something along the lines of "Solas Wolf hunt DLC Announced!!"

On the note of tatoos...I actually have a tribal-esk style dragon on my back and this is from way before I ever played Dragon Age video games. I've always had a things for dragons. They are just to awesome. Which kind of makes me sad for the Old gods being corrupted. Because otherwise they are probably pretty amazing.

Even if that just means they are powerhouses of destruction and raw magic. There is a beauty in that.

I'm just really, really bad with any sort of needles, though I'm a little better with the medical kind after a health issue a couple of years ago that required a metric ton of poking and prodding. But I'm also prone to reactions and feeling faint, so I just never know what will happen. Probably not worth the risk. -_- All I'd need would be to pass out with a half done tattoo.

I would make the worst Dalish elf, given all of that. ;)

If I did, I've also considered a small heart-pawprint design I've found online that I think would be cute (and it's not like my love for animals is going to disappear).

Tragedy I can handle.  I will hellspiral like mad, but it'll be ok in the long run if it's a good story.

I'm biting my nails thinking "OH GOD PLEASE DON'T WRECK HIM"  Solas is such a wonderful character, and it would just kill me if he got character assassinated or something.  *glares at Jacob*

Weekes clearly loves him so that reassures me a bit. With him taking over as lead, it also helps since he understands the man's layers quite well. Obviously crit path is primary but the writing will fill in all of that and for all the tears Weekes has been responsible for, I do also trust him with characters.

Because we're waxing optimistic and hoping the post game quest cut will result in a more thorough and pleasing DLC addition. Like how GRR Martin split his last book in to two, we're hoping there is just too much good stuff to delve in to and it will only benefit us in the end. Only, it better not take as long as GRR Martin would. Hear that, Weekes? -shakes fist-

Not bad. Let me put it this way though, there are people with pen + tablet can't even accomplish what you did with a track pad. Haha. And yes, DLC PLEASE BIOWARE.

On a side note, any one hear anything more about the interviews?

When I heard the news that Weekes would be taking over where Gaider left off, I felt the story would be in good hands. Because this. :>

I'm not - It was likely cut due to it being uninteresting or undermined his leaving in some way.  It was likely something you did that just led you to a ruin and maybe he left a note or just confirmed that he had well and truly disappeared - which Leliana tells you about by saying that he was surprisingly evasive.  I don't thnk you would have seen him again.  It would have just been something small and redundent from a story-telling perspective.  Where do you do that quest? After the finale? Thus drawing the focus away from you victory and on to him.  Finding Solas and what Solas is, is a totally seperate plot line. It's better left to a DLC or new game.

No.  I mean...depends on the context.  I've seen people talking about another fic and then like someone is like 'OH HEY JUST GUNNA DROP THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CONVERSATION." It's sorta gross, especially if the author of the other fic is right there.  Like right now, you could have just said 'oh hey, i wrote this.'  Which is totally cool and legit.

Furthermore, this is an issue the rest of the game already suffers from. Because of the way the epilogue was handled, the game never feels complete. The odd structure of the narrative suggests the conflict with Corypheus was a sideshow of the Solas plot and nothing more.

Theory One:

Archdemons aren't corrupted by normal darkspawn. They can only be corrupted by their corresponding High Priest. Either that, or the High Priests were the only ones outside of the Wardens to know where, exactly, in the deep dark their own gods were buried.

The darkspawn dig in the vague direction of the call, and the remaining Magisters take control of large groups and direct them to the real target. This was mostly inspired by the fact that the Architect was once Urthemiel's High Priest, and he was the one to corrupt him in the end. I enjoy the poetry of it.

I...don't think I believe that, but it's an interesting thought.

If living stuff infected with the blight doesn't transfer between different kinds of living stuff with the blight (mages or templars taking lyrium who get infected with the blight just die of the blight--the lyrium doesn't become infected and red and turn them into red lyrium monsters--and red lyrium spikes didn't make the red templars turn into darkspawn or ghouls--they were just spiky and red for harvesting), then it could make sense. There doesn't appear to be cross contamination there...(unless there is--but I'm too lazy to actually look up what exactly happens to red templar people and I don't remember). In future Redcliffe, we found out Leliana was resistant to the blight--were those just tests for Felix or did they try to make her a red lyrium host and she was resistant to that as well?

If it is true, though, then maybe there could be something to needing extra pure magister blight for the archdemons--and what that means for the nature of the old gods (or the elven gods depending on if/how they're related) would also be interesting. Are the high priests similar enough in nature to the old gods or would it just be that they were infected with such a potent dose.

Also, I have no concerns about Solas being Jacobed--at all. We're going to get a beautiful, emotional culmination regardless of which emotions it invokes. That said, there is no reason it couldn't be HAPPY in addition to being well done, people. Happy. Believe.

There was a brief freakout and the TO flags were waved.  But, like others said, it was probably cut to make an amazing DLC.

Another thing I found to back up my half-baked plot bunny is that dragons are said to be highly resistant to the Blight. Whatever the Old Gods are, they're certainly very draconic in appearance.  And yeah, I don't really believe it either at this point, but i find the line of thought interesting.

That entry about Kardol landing in an Archdemon prison is great. Maybe I misread, but it seems to imply that there's something of the Archdemon left there? Did the darkspawn drag the corpse away from the battlefield?

And again, I feel like Bioware's foreshadowing some big revelations about the Old Gods. Who put them in chains? How powerful would you have to be to subdue seven dragon gods and bury them beneath the earth? The fact that it's in the Deep Roads and the dwarf empire as apparently up to all kinds of mischief makes me suspect a combination of ancient dwarves and the Titans.

Eh, it's too open-world of a game to ever feel complete anyway. That just goes with the genre.

Also, Corypheus WAS a sideshow. Nothing wrong with that. All that matters is Solas... I love you, Solas. Come back now.
