Return to Ostagar. King Cailan, stripped and crucified overlooking the battlefield where his defeat nearly sealed the doom of Ferelden and the victory of the Blight. There's your grotesque masterpiece.  While I would have liked more characterization of Urthemiel, perhaps a scene where you see him gently roaring to one of his Vanguards like you see Howe and Loghain bickering, he does have the occasional personal touch.

 

So I've actually been pronouncing the Scourge of God's name correctly this whole time? Hot damn. 

Of all the crazy historical conspiracies, my least favorite involve Atlantis. It was a hypothetical city used to illustrate Plato's point, guys. Shush.   

 

That's riiight, I forgot about that! OK, you've convinced me. Still, the lack of more characterization could be an indicator that it's a temporary bond between the OGS and the dragon itself. Or it phases in and out.

*shrug* There is Draconis, a speculated eighth Old God that's mentioned in the constellation codex entries.

However, the whole Creators=Old Gods runs off the idea that there are seven Old Gods because Fen'harel sealed them away, and Mythal was murdered beforehand. So no need for one to correspond to Fen'harel. (Presumably all of the Creators could turn into dragons.)

The flaw I see in the Mythal=Dumat=Old God Baby Andraste=Flemeth route of thinking is how did Mythal get into Dumat? If Mythal was Dumat, somehow, then the unknown Draconis could account for her, and her death before the other gods were sealed would lead to the Neromenian/Tevinter Imperium only worshiping the seven imprisoned gods.

There were a lot of flaws in my theory of the match-up. 

 

This has probably been brought up at some point but Draconis and that graffiti that was painted all over Lowtown look kinda similar.

Theory here! ....though I'd step carefully around the rest of the thread. People seem very touchy about the genders of the Gods. =w=

And a quick snippet from Wot2 for Caddius:

Coincidence, or did Verric really clue in to the Executors' existence years before we encounter them in-game? (At least, the wartable text seems to imply this is the first Liliana has heard of them, and she's the spymaster for pity's sake.) There are some dropped hints about writing-as-scrying-the-multiverse, but this... *baffled shrug* ...I don't know what to make of this.

Yeah, I screwed up. 

Assuming that the dev notes and the visual cues in the scene, Mythal seems to transfer her 'godhood' (probably her personality and memories) to Morrigan, which is what that spark is. Then the raw power goes to Solas. So Flemeth essentially dies, but it's up in the air how much of her was Flemeth and how much was Mythal in the first place. I think I was focusing a bit on Solas's sad panda face just as the Orb breaks rather than the Epilogue itself. 

I completely forgot about the body transfer being 'overdue', as it were.  I'd be cranky too if I got stuck in an old body for that long when I'd expected to get rid of back pain.

I wonder if the daughters' personalities add to the main Flemythal combo? So instead of being just a spirit/human mix that's very convoluted like Anders and Justice, she's a conglomerate of Mythal, Flemeth, and centuries of daughters? 

 

I think there's a decent argument to be made that she's not using Flemeth's body anymore at that point.  The "corpse" in Solas' arms in the final scene clearly isn't a dead human.  Once drained of power, the entire figure turns grey (clothes and all) suspiciously similar in appearance to the substance of the used, shattered orb at the end of the Corypheus fight.

'Kay, need to know, so hopefully there is scuttlebutt around I've missed: Just played through as an elven female who romanced our elven mage.  It just feels so...I dunno...empty isn't really right, but more incomplete.  Is there any news that there may be a DLC or future games wherein we are reunited with Solas?  'Cause that would be cool (and, I apologize in advance if already mentioned herein - there's over 4,000 pages....no way am I gonna go through 'em all!).

Sadly, no news yet if there'll be a DLC focused on Solas.

 

Though I do have high hopes (and confidence) that there will be. And that it'll be the last DLC they make for DAI, like DAO's Witch Hunt

After reading through the last through posts and using my feeble excuse for a brain, what are the chances of the Inquisitor (willingly for the greater good) receiving Flemeth's soul? Or could Morrigan willingly give in? I just don't see Flemeth as diminishing so easily. Where did she turn after we (possibly) killed her after finding her grimore? 

Has this already been addressed?

No character is a better love interest. Solas can take you to places in your dreams and show you some awesome stuff. Also he's the only person who is genuinely interested in you because of your moral choices. Solas often states he loves the fact that you can change things and possess the will to attempt the impossible.

I've noticed a lot of other characters will either be into you because of the plot of you being "the chosen one" or the Inquisitor. Solas has seen gods in person, those ranks mean nothing to him. He's actually into you for real reasons.

Hi everyone  
Right now I'm trying to get through every post on this thread, and it's a lot of fun if somewhat time-consuming. 
I've been posting my images on the DA:I Nexus, and my Tumblr (there's also a separate thread on here), and I didn't really think I was going to post them here since I would've liked to be all caught up with the thread first, but a user on the Nexus suggested that I should because one of my images (and mainly the description) helped her/him.

Nearing the end of the path dwindling through the dark cave Aidan could once again see daylight in front of her. She moved quietly and quickly closed the distance between her and the opening. She carefully looked out and saw no signs of activity in the clearing. In what seems like ages ago she and her companions had killed off the wyverns who used to dwell here, but it still didn’t hurt to be cautious. Stepping out into the sunlight Aiden discovered nothing but an empty, yet beautiful space covered with lush, green nature and glistening water. She had thought it would be more painful at a first look, but it didn’t at all look the same way it did when she last was there. Then it was dark, and quiet and the waterfall was sparkling in the moonlight. Now it’s bright, almost brighter than her eyes could handle, and full of life. Birds were chirping and a small group of fennecs scattered as the girl walked further into the clearing. She shielded her eyes with her hand and looked up at the two big halla statues framing the small pool of water. Ar lasa mala revas. Suddenly Aiden could hear his voice. She immediately inhaled and forcefully shut her eyes. It sounded so real. She was surprised to realize that her hand had moved down her face, and shuttered as she felt the bare skin beneath it. You are free. 

“No, no, no, please don’t do this to me. It’s too vivid.” She came here to get answers, but she never wanted to experience this stabbing feeling in her stomach or hear his last words ever again. She fell down to the ground and immediately wrapped her hands around her legs. Then she closed her eyes.

 

You are so beautiful. Aiden could feel the tingling on her skin caused by the thin veil, and it made the memories seem even more powerful. She couldn’t do this. She had to leave this place. She shakingly stumbled back up on her feet, and once again shielded her eyes from the ever so bright sunlight. The world was spinning around her and she could see her vision getting blurred. It will never happen again. At those words Aidan let out a loud scream and started running towards the cave. In front of the entrance she suddenly stumbled over her own feet and once again fell down to the ground. Tears were streaming down her face, and she no longer felt like doing anything besides laying there in pain. 

Then she heard her own voice. 

Solas, don’t leave me… Not now. I love you.

Okay, so.. I'm working on a fanfic that I've had in my head forever, and so I made this picture to, along with others, accompany the text. However, I'm nowhere NEAR done, but I still wanted to post the picture. I guess I'll just make a new one for when the chapter is done. So.. think of this a a preview. Not that anyone really cares, but still. 

 

Oh, and this might sound like some sort of excuse, but this part is nowhere near the best one, nor one I'm particularly proud of. It is however the one who's related to the picture.

How can it stand there in the first place?I mean in the fade?Validates what Solas says about the veil "Imagine if spirits entered freely,if the fade was not a place one went but a state of nature like the wind" ?I'm a lil' confused maybe i should go to bed:P and how Tevinter is connected to all of this?  Ah nvm i clicked after on the source link

Just like we send probes to outer space and other dangerous areas to get a reading, perhaps that thing acted as a probe of sorts for Tevinters experimenting in how to physically enter the Fade.

And if that's true, then -caught in an almost impossible choice between sacrificing Lavellan and Mythal- it seems Solas chooses to save Lavellan.

I... I understood this! And huh. To sacrifice a 'Mother' ... swinging to the fantasy side, if it's 'magic' at all that'd be some pretty intense stuff.

 

Only if it is weird that I showed up to help get over my second play through of the waterfall scene.

It hurt just as bad as the first time. If not, more so.

And also led to an empty jar of Nutella.

It is not weird! Not weird at all. It is damn tragedy and I demand more Solas/Lavellan storyline to compensate for all the shattered feels.

It's so much worse when I see the flycam posts for it... so, so sad. They can give us Jaws of Hakkon and all the other DLC they like, but until we get a Solas-ful one I will not be appeased.

I didn't have JoH with my first play through, and now I do....so I decided to play JoH before Doom Upon the World.....and this happened to me.

If you have played JoH, you know how to speak to the spirit that knew Telana out on the island? I mean....it's sad to begin with...walking around the island and you even hear her call out "Vhenan" and stuff....then I have the conversation with her through the rift and I was all like....Mmmmm, this must be awkward for my Lavellan and Solas.....since they just broke up and all.....

 

Then I finish the conversation....ride the boat back to the mainland.....and Cole's party banter of "Ar lasa mala revas...." triggers.

 

Appropriate because...you know...I'm sure there were some heavy awkward feels during that whole Telana/spirit conversation......

 

...but did not help me one bit.

That's actually pretty neat. I'd love to have the timing come together to make the whole story feel that much more real. Never minding the somewhat sad subject matter.

I'm good with calling it Tevinter in origin. You can find the same "orbs", in the North/Northwestern part of the Hissing wastes, as well. Vints all over that dusty desert.
