Annnnd I'M BACK TO BE OBNOXIOUS! 
I somehow managed to get a two hour nap, dinner, and get the boyfriend up and out. I don't know how but I did.
I now have a bowl full of pretend chicken (if that sounds weird-- i'm vegetarian lol) and veggies and rice and a stock of sugary drinks and coffee.

Right now I'm getting ready to go to bed, and to wake up right before it starts and then stay up to watch it and then go back to sleep. Oh boy.

 

In all honesty if there is no Solas I will get mad...we've been waiting so long and he and the other lesser shown companions deserve and should get the screentime!

It's so WEIRD because I'm oh so very uncoordinated and inept at understanding my center of gravity that usually simply walking proves too much of a challenge for me. Can't cross a flat floor without tripping over, erm... air? myself? nothing?? So forget dancing. And yet SOMEHOW I am suddenly full of rhythm.

I have been wasting time creating Inquisitors. I downloaded EVE Online's trial just for the character creator and holy wow is it glorious. I've already created three of my Inquisitors!

 

Staying up and crossing my fingers for Mr. Solas! Because seriously, if he's there I'm going to freak out the moment I see that bald head. He doesn't even have to say anything at all

Ahaha, agreed about the freaking out! I can only imagine the unnatural position I will use to mount my chair and press my nose as close to the computer screen as possible. 'CAUSE IF MY FACE ISN'T UP AGAINST IT I MIGHT MISS A DETAIL AMIRITE.

the best case scenario here is that i end up screaming and falling off my precarious perch and hurting myself OUT OF SHEER GLEE.

Anyway, I know I keep jumping back to main storyline speculation from time to time, but I was watching Legend of Korra and something stuck out to me so I'll put it under a spoiler.

Just a disclaimer, I in no way am trying to be like 'ohhh Bioware stole the idea from Korra wah wah' like, that's in no way what I'm trying to do. Basic conflict plots are reused again and again in a different situation, just like the set up the the Heroes Journey. ANYWAY...

In the Avatar universe there exists two worlds: the spirit world and the physical world. Such as in the Dragon Age universe where there is the fade and the physical realm. In season two the Avatar (Korra) keeps a portal open which allows spirits to wander into the physical world from the spirit world. I view this as similar to the fade rips that are allowing beings from the fade to spill into Thedas. In season three she confronts the 'bad guy' and inquires what his motives are. He states that he wishes to "restore balance to this world". In order to do so he thinks that the spirit world and the physical world should not be separated and that those in power are to be eliminated so that "oppressive governments are torn down". This, in turn, will "throw the world into chaos". What is something the Dragon Age twitter asked some time ago? Will you choose order or chaos? The 'bad guy' who is having this conversation with Korra says that the natural order is disorder and that "new growth cannot exist without first the destruction of the old." What is one of Morrigans famous quotes? “Change is coming to the world. Many fear change and will fight it with every fiber of their being. But sometimes, change is what they need the most. Sometimes, change is what sets them free.” 

Dwelling upon that I cannot help but think this will be one of the bigger overarching plot problems in Inquisition. I know I brought up some time ago my thoughts about Solas and Vivienne being on the cover, and I feel that ties into it. Not only might it be a religious split, their motivations determined (possibly) by a higher deity, but also one concerning the fate of the world. Vivenne is a strong advocate of the circle (which I would associate with control and order) while Solas has studied the fade and doesn't believe in good or bad. Which makes me think he could possibly be an advocate for chaos in the sense of desiring new growth through the destruction of the old and allowing the fade to merge with the physical realm.

I was reading a sort of analysis of the most recent episode of Korra and the extend of an airbenders capabilities in that it is the deadliest of all the bending elements because air is all around you. And (this is the persons theory now) that the airbenders decided to take up a peaceful life as monks because they did not wish to terrorize the other nations just because the had the ability to. I kind of relate that to mages in the Dragon Age world. As a rogue or warrior you are a formidable fighter, but you need weapons in order to inflict real harm. (Yeah, a body can be a weapon, but just bear with me.) As a mage you have the potential to wreck devastating destruction without the use of tools. Yes, many mages use staffs and staves, but I think they don't necessarily need them. (In the case of Wynne who set a boys hair on fire.) With Vivienne promoting the circle, the status quo, she is keeping the order much like the airbenders did by becoming monks. I'm not sure if Solas is an advocate for a free circle, but he certainly could be. Along with just letting the Fade remain open and a sort of order through disorder.

There's also the issue of the throne in Orlais, which I'm sure will cause some problems with the Inquisitor. Why not forgo choosing who will be the new Emperor or Empress and, instead, remove monarchy and rulers altogether? They are already causing enough problems for people such as city elves (who are currently rebelling) and slaves in Tevinter.

So what am I trying to get at? Well, aside from the overall plot, what role might Solas have in Dragon Age Inquisition? So much of him has been downplayed so far and I can't help but think he's going to have a big role in trying to steer the world into 'chaos' as the natural order may be disorder. Now I don't think he just wants to watch the world burn and have everything go to ****, I think he believes something good could come out of it. I'm not sure what exactly, but perhaps his fascination with Cole has something to do with it. Cole could be the future of the fade and the physical realm merging. I can't say much though... considering I haven't read Asunder... but if it isn't just blatant body possession like what the cat tried to do for the girl or what the demon wanted to do to Connor it could possibly be not so bad??? Or like... Solas doesn't see the Fade the same way the mages in the circle do. So maybe the Fade isn't all bad bad scary scary monsters. So far Korra has had a lot of not so mean spirits come into the world, but in earlier seasons (or when Aang was Avatar) they encountered some pretty scary spirits much like we have in earlier DA games. 

I'm just rambling now, but food for thought. If this is the case I must say this will be the first time I don't take the clear-cut 'good' route in a game. And -yeah- I brought in a lot of Korra, but I feel like comparing current games/movies/shows is a way to support that this could happen because it is relevant right now. I guess this kind of defeats my theory on love-interest race-gating buuuuttt... yeah... ... ...

It's kind of funny that those stories have similar ideas, because I felt like Dragon Age took one of my ideas that I came up with years ago about a spirit and physical world being separate and a rebellious mage breaching the wall between those worlds (in the name of scientific curiosity) causing nightmarish things to leak into the physical world. He also got stuck in the spirit world and became a sort of demigod.

 

I don't want any unwilling "merging" like in the Mass Effect synthesis ending. I also don't want Solas to be an advocate of chaos and destruction like a Doomguard. It's an interesting idea, but I want to side with Solas whatever his affiliation and I don't want that to be the "status quo is screwed" ending as that would no doubt end up being the non-canon ending.

Well, it is an interesting idea nonetheless. I personally think it is a good stab-in-the-dark. Who knows, I could be completely wrong. (You have to remember I was the one who brought up the possibl!eunuch!problem and... ha ha ha... YEAH ya'll know how that ended) He could also potentially be swayed to the 'other side' just like Fenris can support the mages (despite how much he hates them) depending on different factors. 

Food for thought. Food for thought. Take my theories with as much salt as you see fit.
