My Lavellan never flirted with Cullen, but the flirt option always popping up (and that, paired with some of his dialogue)... well, yeah. I got crush vibes.

Might've been because my previous game was a human romance with him, so I recognized the dialogue xD

Also, Blackwall you can flirt with even before you recruit him, and can even just leave him there after flirting with him. Kind of awkward.

LOL, I didn't know that.  That's horrible and kind of hilarious.

Awkward pretty much sums up my Lavellan's relationship with Blackwall   Clariel is already really, really uncomfortable with the whole Herald thing, and she never quite comes to grips with it.  But other characters who believe quizzy is the Herald eventually come to befriend and appreciate her simply for who she is (Cass, Varric, etc.)  Blackwall...at least without the romance, I feel like he never got past hero worship, especially if you show him mercy.

ChuChu... this comic... I love it! <3 And love the way you draw Solas. :) And like some others have said, I hope you get bored more often. xD

And will there be more? A continuation? (Please say 'yes'.)

I swear, if this was on Tumblr I'd reblog this comic so fast. (Are you sure you don't have Tumblr or DeviantArt account hidden somewhere?)

Yep, you get one flirt option after you beat the bandits and before you can formally invite him to join the Inquisition.

I never took it because we just met him like a moment before and my Lavellan wasn't going to just make passes at absolutely everyone. It is pretty hilarious that you can flirt and probably tell him no, he can't join.

But I agree that he can come on too strongly with that sense of hero worship. Mine was sort of just asking lots of questions in the world she was thrust into so his overly complimentary, fawning nature didn't teach or show her anything.

I thought after his quest and trial (I had already vaguely figured him out beforehand anyway) he got a bit more interesting but by then there were definitely no flirts and the relationship with Solas was solid.

I've only done one full playthrough of ME, and I mean full, including all the DLC. I just needed emotional space afterward, since I played the entire thing straight through. I'd consider giving it another go, but I'm pretty much pleased with the way the decisions turned out and there is little I would actively want to change. Boyfriend keeps suggesting a deliberately renegade run but it doesn't give me as much satisfaction as playing imperfectly heroic characters. Also, it would feel so wrong not to romance  Liara.

My first romance choice usually ruins me to some degree for other choices, as we can also see with Solas.

Though I like ME2, especially its characters, I didn't like ME2 as much as most people do, I guess. It feels too segmented and guided and I initially hated the new weapons systems and some of the other changes.  There's too little Liara. (Lair of the Shadow Broker is amazing though.) I find ME1 to be the best in the series and then maybe ME3 and then ME2 are kind of tied. I do love the series, but I didn't like that it's less RPG as you go on, more shooter style gameplay, and is way more linear.

I keep being told I should replay the trilogy with a different class and alignment and romance Garrus but I can't.  For me, Shepard will always be a bitter and sarcastic paragon (I think Knight in Sour Armour is her main trope) Liaramancing Adept.  Any other Shepard would just feel like a Shepard cosplayer in a very ambitious LARP.

I'd love to romance Garrus.  But even with a different Shep with a different background I'd feel like I was cheating on Liara.  That's why I prefer games like DAO and DAI.  Having a set protagonist means that once I find the story and LI I like I'm just going to stick with them.  Otherwise it just feels non-canon.

It was very difficult to romance Garrus with Kaidan around and I can't kill him in ME.. just can't; It's too heartbreaking for me. So last time I played ME2, I used the comic DLC (can't think of what it's called) to kill Kaidan so I could romance Garrus without being tempted by him in ME3. I will never do that again because I really cannot stand who Ashley became in ME3. I liked her in ME but she became more of a Barbie than Miranda was. I actually like Miranda...she pulled it off very well, but Ashely was just trying too hard. I dunno..I have to kill her.

When I saw that one, I didn't think the person was paying attention to Solas over time. Was talking to my boyfriend yesterday and still trying to vague talk and not spoil about how well-written Solas is, but he doesn't use him in his party and isn't going to romance him. And my one friend ran a party mostly full of warriors and she didn't even take Solas to the Temple of Mythal. I was like....you don't take the guy talking about ancient elven stuff to the ancient elven temple? (I had also spoiled her on his identity, which made that more of a facepalm-worthy decision).

The game really rewards you for taking Solas everywhere.  A friend of mine said he finds Solas 'boring' (I so far haven't spoiled him on anything to do with Solas, but it's getting harder and harder not to), but his main mage is Dorian.  A lot of what Solas says about elves makes sense when you realise that he's frustrated by the way the world is now.  The elves are his people, but they're not his people.  Culturally he probably has more in common with Dorian than Lavellan.

In my friend's case, i had no idea she would be playing and hadn't played the first two, so it was more mentioning it to our other friend within a shared Facebook chat. But I've heard "oh, Solas is okay" from many people and I'm like....taaaaake him places. But yes, those people won't understand why he's frustrated and can't relate to the modern elves. Or what his (apparent) preoccupation with The Fade is.

I didn't aim to bring Solas everywhere, but he was just SO fascinating that he was the only permanent member of my party the entire time.

Part of the problem is that the elves lost a lot of their history when they were enslaved by Tevinter.  And most of the stories you get about elven history/mythology is from *one* keeper from one clan.  I've kind of smelled a conspiracy theory when I heard that.  Or the only thing the elves remembered was that Fen'Harel locked the gods away and not WHY or what exactly happened and started to blame him for all of their problems.

What concerns me is not so much that we'll have to wait years for another game to get answers about Solas but that we'll also be playing a new protagonist that doesn't have that personal connection.  So as the player we'll be going OMG and as the character we'll be going, Solas who?

Methinks Weekes might have gotten some inspiration from Doctor Who (he did describe Solas as an Elven Time Lord) with the idea that Fen'Harel's name has changed from "Rebel" to "Trickster" over time, as history has forgotten parts of the legend and taken them out of context?

There was a running theme in Series 6 of Doctor Who about how the Doctor's legend had similarly taken a life of it's own and the name that once meant "Healer" had come to mean "Great Warrior" for some people, due to the amount of destruction he left in his wake?

I mean, if you heard "The Oncoming Storm" and "The Destroyer of Worlds", with the only context being that the Daleks, the most feared things in the universe, use those titles to describe someone they are afraid of,  why would you ever believe that the Doctor was actually the Big Good of the story?

Could be the same for the Dalish, they forgot the reasons that Fen'Harel locked away the other Creators and the Forgotten Ones, and in time, the act itself and that his title was "The Dread Wolf" became all the reason they needed as why they should fear him?

(And it's times like this, I realise I watch way too much Doctor Who)

Bleh this is offtopic, but I'm going on a plane tomorrow (for Japan.) I'm extremely nervous (even though I've ridden numerous planes over the last 5 years) because of the plane crashes in the news.

I'm going to just pretend I'm on a griffon. Just one big griffon. The whole time I'm going to pray to Mythal that the griffon doesn't get shot by darkspawn and go down!

@_@ Mythal'enaste, Fen'harel enaste

Going back to Origins. Hopefully my laptop will allow me to play it for a few hours whilst I'm on the plane big ass griffon.

I love Doctor Who, but I really, really don't like that so much time magic got plopped into Dragon Age in Inquistion. I hope Solas isn't going to attempt to use it to try to reset history or something - I've seen that theory around a lot lately. I will be rolling up in a ball groaning if that is the case. Please, just no.

I think that history is more or less safe because without the Breach, time travel is impossible to achieve. As we saw in the Silent Ruins, the most that can be managed is freezing things in time, which is extremely hard to pull off and has very little practical application whatsoever aside from being a very fancy kind of prison?

Spoiler

Actually, it makes me wonder if they really are affecting time at all or not simply just freezing the molecules of objects in place and holding them there with magic, kinda like in Charmed where Piper's "freezing time" ability was later retconned to work this way?

(Curiosity made me start watching that show, MST3King the later seasons kept me sane)
