I love that screenshot.

 

I wish I loved that armor. I kind of hate it. You can't even tint the robe itself, the colors are an odd combo, tinting often just makes it worse, and it tends to look like a bare chest half the time. And yet people just love putting it on Solas.

I'm not really a fan of it either, actually. It's alright, I just think he looks better in so many other armors.

Okay, so I am tinkering with a fic and as I am want to do I am listening to music as I write, and the following song comes on:

And I have to stop, listen, and check the lyrics. At which point I think to myself, yep this is exactly how my Lavellan is going to feel at the end of all this. Not that I have gotten there in game mind you. I have this obsessive thing about my character faces. I don't what it is about Dragon Age, but it takes me several tries and half play-throughs before I figure out the CC enough to get a face that looks decent to my personal aesthetics. At which point I play to the end, which is the point I am at now that I have finally settled on a face.

As for those robes, you can keep them. They are quite elfy. I just think they're weird looking and he looks better in other armors.

It's funny how this happens. I sometimes get a song that serves to throw me back into the Solavellan hellspiral just randomly on a stream while I'm walking home listening to a station. Lyrics in songs are generally important to me, so it happens a lot.

So, on a mildly related note, my boyfriend got his Witcher 3 deluxe box, and inside is a copy of Geralt's wolf medallion. He kept draping it over my neck and saying stuff like 'here you like dogs' and 'it's all fluffy' (it's pointy, metal, and jingly). I was so tempted to make a wolf-related Solas joke but SOMEONE has not finished the game and may never do so.

Stuff and Nonsense by Neil Flynn. I hear this song, and Sola popped into my mind { Stupid Sexy Solas]  I can sort of see Him and Lavellan singing this together at the height of their romance.

ok, so, I bought DA:I about three weeks ago because it was finally on sale aka affordable and I've just finished my first playthrough with my female Lavellen Solasmancer. Because, he's a loveable nerd and I haven't played an elf character since my first DA:O playthrough.

 

currently my feelings are a mixture of ohmYGODWHATwhatWHATtheydidwhatnowNOWHAT and the sound of a heart slowly shattering into teeny tiny pieces.

I accidentally read spoilers so I knew about Flemythal but I in no way expected a tragic unworkable ending - I was expecting my inquisitor to run off into the wilderness with her lover doing mysticy magicky super elfy **** through the folds of the veil wearing flower crowns together forever. Not, total heartbreak.

 

I mean I love a tragic story as much as the next theatre lover but dear god ouch. And still, right to the end, I was totally convinced that Solas was just a socially distant hermit and struggled dealing with other people outside of the realms of the fade but didn't want to pass up an opportunity to study it - not an ancient elf-god trying to reclaim an artefact and trying to pass as acceptable.

 

 

 

I think it's a real credit to the character that whilst I had the rough intent of romancing Solas from the beginning he genuinely kept surprising me at how nice and compassionate and just thoughtful he could be. Like, it'd be quite easy to write an serious, intelligent, loner-type as a complete arsehole, or at least as icily cold, or boring, but I was impressed at actually how warm and witty Solas often was. He's a really likeable character. For all that he talks about Lavellen surprising him, it was my Lavellan that was often surprised.

Okay! I finally finished reading Asunder. I just want to say that I've got Cole feels and Wynne feels; and I want Rhys and Evangeline as companions or something. xD

 

All in all, a great book! I never expected that I would like it as much TME but I love it! Would definitely recommend you read it, if you haven't already.

I wonder how Oghren and his wife and child are doing. Do we hear about them in a War Table mission?  I can't read those things..the font is too tiny.

 

Also, Wynne is dead now, right? Did Shale become a dwarf again in the comics?  I need to read those comics.

 

I also wonder how Nathaniel is doing. I was writing a fic about him and my Cousland getting together, but I didn't get very far.

I loved Wynne in DAO and brought her everywhere. I was surprised how much Wynne got on my nerves in this book, at least for a while.

 

I already wished the Rhys and Evangeline war table missions were like the Sutherland ones, and after reading the book, I wish even moreso they were like the Sutherland ones.

 

Also, Cole feels on top of Cole feels when I wasn't aware there was even the possibility of that much more Cole feels.
