I loved Wynne in DAO and brought her everywhere. I was surprised how much Wynne got on my nerves in this book, at least for a while.

 

I already wished the Rhys and Evangeline war table missions were like the Sutherland ones, and after reading the book, I wish even moreso they were like the Sutherland ones.

 

Also, Cole feels on top of Cole feels when I wasn't aware there was even the possibility of that much more Cole feels.

 

Wynne didn't really bother me much. Adrian though... 

 

And Cole... poor Cole. I didn't like the part where Seeker Lambert was punching his face off. My poor baby!

 

EDIT: Also, I got feels for poor Pharamond.

As for those robes, you can keep them. They are quite elfy. I just think they're weird looking and he looks better in other armors.

 

Solas looks amazing in the modded version of the merc starting robes.  So amazing.

ok, so, I bought DA:I about three weeks ago because it was finally on sale aka affordable and I've just finished my first playthrough with my female Lavellen Solasmancer. Because, he's a loveable nerd and I haven't played an elf character since my first DA:O playthrough.

 

currently my feelings are a mixture of ohmYGODWHATwhatWHATtheydidwhatnowNOWHAT and the sound of a heart slowly shattering into teeny tiny pieces.

I accidentally read spoilers so I knew about Flemythal but I in no way expected a tragic unworkable ending - I was expecting my inquisitor to run off into the wilderness with her lover doing mysticy magicky super elfy **** through the folds of the veil wearing flower crowns together forever. Not, total heartbreak.

 

I mean I love a tragic story as much as the next theatre lover but dear god ouch. And still, right to the end, I was totally convinced that Solas was just a socially distant hermit and struggled dealing with other people outside of the realms of the fade but didn't want to pass up an opportunity to study it - not an ancient elf-god trying to reclaim an artefact and trying to pass as acceptable.

 

 

 

I think it's a real credit to the character that whilst I had the rough intent of romancing Solas from the beginning he genuinely kept surprising me at how nice and compassionate and just thoughtful he could be. Like, it'd be quite easy to write an serious, intelligent, loner-type as a complete arsehole, or at least as icily cold, or boring, but I was impressed at actually how warm and witty Solas often was. He's a really likeable character. For all that he talks about Lavellen surprising him, it was my Lavellan that was often surprised.

I don't 'like' her but she also doesn't bother me. Her personality is not something that works for me. Though I kind of read the book halfway imagining her as an angry mage Merida.

 

I think, with Wynne, what happened was her attitude and views were more of a disappointment to me and she kind of got on my nerves for a little bit. I did love her before so, as with DAI Leliana, it was like....initially 'what did they do to you?' at first.

LOL, every time Adrian opened her mouth, I always get overcome with this feeling of dread because she's always so very angry. (I get uncomfortable  with people who are always angry in fiction and IRL.) Yes, she has a reason for why she's angry but it won't change the fact that I just.... really... don't like her.

And I romanced Fenris in a friendly romance!

 

And I also managed to rival Anders!   Which led to hilarious converstations where he was accusing me of selling out my own kind when I'd literally just come back from working with the mage underground.

 

I don't care if the game tries to railroad me into being Anders' friend if I'm pro-mage: I do what I want.

Yes, I thought she was a bit stereotypically written with the whole angry fiery redhead thing going on. I was actually kind of okay with her at the beginning but as I went further and further into the book, the more I disliked her. 

 

And I do agree with a lot of her views but that personality of hers I just couldn't stand. 

 

As long as I also get to meet Rhys and Evie and they get to meet up with Cole again, I'm happy.

 

And as long as I get to see my newly badass little nerd Finn again I'm very happy.

 

I would love to meet Rhys and Evangeline in future DA games. And yes, I'd love if they would reunite with Cole.

For me a lot of it has to do with life stage, TBH.  I was in college when I first played DA:O, with no idea what I was doing in life, so Wynne's grandmotherly advice really struck a chord with me.  Upon replaying DA:O and reading Asunder last year, she drove me absolutely NUTS.  After Asunder and WoT2, it becomes really apparent how much she's projecting her own past on the Warden, especially Amell/Surana.

Alright Solas Club, I need y'all's help.

I just got JoH (since I play on PS4... *grumble*delayed-dlc-release-date*grumble*) and I'm trying to figure out what save to load for my Elfquisitor.  She romanced Solas (obvi, or I wouldn't be here), so I'd like him to be there for banter and what not, so I'll need a save before the ending.  Do I need to run through the final battle again after I get through JoH?  It's a bummer I can't just play the DLC post ending, but we all know why that's not an option.

 

 

I wonder how Oghren and his wife and child are doing. Do we hear about them in a War Table mission?  I can't read those things..the font is too tiny.

This might be the case. I lost a hard drive a couple of years ago and my saves and most of my Origins stuff was on there so I never did complete a replay. I kind of have the itch to play again. Might look later for the mods I'd need.

Yes.  You need to do a save right before Corypheus.  I have one before that war table mission, so that's the one I would pick.  Then you would need to re-do that Corypheus battle. I imagine they didn't do DLC post-ending since PC/X-Box One players would have had super spoilery stuff for like almost 2 months before PS4 people got it.  It's not exactly crucial DLC. Just good world building stuff.
