Pretty much.  My feelings on him not only vary with my mood, but also with playthrough.  I felt so much worse for him in the non-romanced rivalry playthrough than I did in my nutty Resolutionist!Hawke's friendship romance playthrough.

Notes on the Hero of Ferelden: Ariane and Finn

 

Magistrate Kingston Aldebrant of West Hill and his wife, Florence, were extremely concerned when a message from Kinlock Hold arrived, informing them that their son, Florian Phineas Horatio Adlebrant, Esquire, also known as Finn, had left the tower on a Circle-sanctioned mission in the company of a Grey Warden, a Dalish elf and a large dog.  Though assured that Finn was well trained and adept at magic, Magistrate Aldebrant and Florence remained convinced that Finn was in danger and required saving to prevent him from being injured - or, worse, killed.  Magistrate Aldebrant dedicated much of this considerable wealth towards locating and returning his son to the tower safely.

 

Investiatagors hired to track down the group soon discovered that Finn was assisting the Wardens in locating and apprehending a Witch of the Wilds.  Finn's quest took him all over Thedas, from the Frostbacks all the way to the coastal region of Amaranthine.  A letter to Magistrate Aldebrant details an encounter with Finn and the Dalish elf, after they had left the company of the Warden and the dog and struck out on their own.  According to the letter, the magistrate's men intercepted the two and narrowly escaped being impaled and fried by Dalish sword and magic spell.  After being forced to drop their weapns, the investigators informed Finn of his parents' concern and urged him to return to the tower.  The writer of the letter had this to say about Finn's response: "I am quite aggrieved to report that your son sighed and then advised me to 'leave in order to engage in an act of self-gratification,' though in far fewer, and infinitely harsher, words.  I say with some certainty that Finn is no longer the soft, nervous boy you remember.'

 

Finn later returned to his father's house to explain himself and say goodbye.  Accomanying him was the Dalish elf, whom he introduced as Ariane.  Much to Mistress Florence's chagrin, Ariane managed to sample every single food item in her pantry and cheerfully expressed a weakness for "shemlen" pickles.  Before they departed, Finn returned a ghastly knitted hat to his mother and changed out of his immaculately clean robes, voicing the desire to exchange them in favour of "something leather"

My dash is nearly all m!Hawke/Fenris.  Since I barely tolerate m!Hawke it's a pain.

Because I've read some Solavellan fics where Lavellan isn't shy about inviting pre-romanced Solas (or even other companions) to join her for a bath in the river.

I've actually thought a lot about this because of a fic I was going to write but never did.  I personally think the women go off and bathe separately from the men. In DA:O those two young Dalish elves (I can't think of their names) seem awfully innocent and shy around each other. I really don't think they have seen each other naked. Maybe as children they would have been bathed together until they reach a certain age.

I think in some cases, probably, but one of the things about the Dalish is the separation between clans makes them their own little micro societies so each can have their own attitudes and beliefs and bits of culture that they do a little differently. Which is....good for headcanons, actually. As long as it makes sense within the general lore.

I ask this because I've been thinking about my Lavellan's life before the Chantry explosion and one of my headcanons involves her and some of the clan members bathing in a river. I just wasn't sure if the women go off bathing separately from the men, like NightSymphony said, or just bathe together with them. I do headcanon that both girls and boys bathe together as children though.

 

But yes, each clan is different so I guess I just have to decide which works better for my Lavellan's story.

Yes.  You need to do a save right before Corypheus.  I have one before that war table mission, so that's the one I would pick.  Then you would need to re-do that Corypheus battle. I imagine they didn't do DLC post-ending since PC/X-Box One players would have had super spoilery stuff for like almost 2 months before PS4 people got it.  It's not exactly crucial DLC. Just good world building stuff.
