I still haven't played JoH. I'm lvl 21 now but I'm gonna go to the Winter Palace first..which is what I will be doing later on today.

Well, it would be darn hard to discuss how everybody likes you and supports you because... yeah, because you're a witcher and we all know the world hates those talented ones who can save us all.
Are you playing the new one?
Huh? didn't they say it adjusted to the level of the player because they hate selling DLCs you cannot play at any time? I am sure somebody quoted this here when it came out...
But even Nightmare wasn't so hard in DAI, I assume it will be fine either way.
Yea - I am. It's actually the first one I've felt compelled to play at any length. He's ridiculously emo. It's sort of hilarious.

Oh, it adjusts. They recommend level 20+ and it says so right on the war table when you open the map. You can technically open it up earlier if you want, I guess.
It adjusts to your level so most of my enemies were 25/26 and then eventually 27. But like I said, I played on normal, so it was just regular. No extra difficulty tweaks or anything.

I was looking through my JoH screenshots to see what the final main boss' level was but apparently I took no screenshots during the battle. Boo. Will have to get some on my mage.
But I did find another example of my specialty....the laggiest, derpiest screenshots around, thanks to my five year old PC.
This is a JoH shot but I took off the text/context, so no spoiler.

My Lavellan is dignified, really.

I didn't find JoH to be more difficult than DA:I so much as more annoying. I get it, winter is coming and it's cold and bad. Now stop freezing me every fight.
I just stacked cold resist/fire damage, and it was fine. Cole needed some new custom weapons; sweet cinnamon roll has great dialogue for JoH, but he is awfully squishy without guard on hit.
My Lavellan is already stressed with having the Mark, I don't think she's down with the idea of being bound in servitude to an elvhen goddess who could potentially be nuts.
Plus, I headcanon my Lavellan pretty much lost faith in all the elvhen gods by that point. Especially when she finally met Flemythal and found out that she's been around this whole time and did nothing to help the People but is instead busy with her little revenge plot.
Yeah, my Lavellan hit the "gods are whack and useless" point too. What's the point of believing in the Maker or the Creators or whatever if it doesn't accomplish anything you couldn't do on your own? JoH spoilers:
On a meta level, I also think it's hilarious playing stubbornly muggle!Lavellan. Of the three DA PCs, the Inquisitor is the one set up for apotheosis. But mine has no magic, no Well, and sticks her fingers in her ears every time someone starts with the Herald malarkey.

Some artwork before I go to bed. ![]()
"...I have not forgotten the kiss."
A little WIP of osatokun's comic.
An adorable crack AU where Solas is really the cute fluffy white wolf in the romance card. xD (Artist sort of has a story behind it in the link.)
Ties that bind. Apotheosis fanart.
Pretty cool Solas artwork.
"Dad Solas" apparently. (Referring to his clothing most likely.)
Sleeping Solas.
And a whole bunch of Dragon Age elves! From DA:O, DA2, DA:I, and the books. owo

I kinda love Geralt, he is so grim and serious all the time, whenever he cracks a joke it just seems funnier.
He is a bit like Stannis in that regard.

Where in the lore? I hate missing things especially when it feels like we only have half the jigsaw pieces to the problem that is Thedas.
It's during the mage origin as an elf. You meet another elven student. He's kind of a dick to you if you're an Amell but if you're a Surana then you can chat about elves and magic.

I'm reading The Masked Empire. And I played my game today, and about flipped sh*t when the noble lady missing her ring called me a rabbit. I should have thrown that ring over the palace walls.
Next time, sell it.
It didn't quite dawn on me the first time that she was using a 'polite' racial slur at me since I hadn't read the book yet.

I have a complicated relationship with most of the cast of ASOIAF. When it comes to players in the game that aren't messing around doing slave freeing sidequests, I hate Stannis the least.

I didn't know what it was either until just now.
Selling it, unfortunately, isn't very satisfying. You tell her to keep looking and you don't even get an annoyed huff. It's like she doesn't care either way. I'll take the 5 court approval and grumble about it as I walk away. ![]()

Religious fanaticism, real or for ambition that resulted in burning people, killing his own brother with underhanded magical weirdness, wanting to sacrifice children, and he doesn't even necessarily want the throne, he feels responsibility and duty to do it. Stubborn and kind of a hardass. Then he presumes to throw himself around and try to bribe people like Jon. His only redeeming qualities are the occasional snark and as a father. He's also boring a lot of the time. He kind of lost me completely when burning kids, his own nephew, became a remotely reasonable idea.
I tolerate him but I dislike him. His chapters aren't as bad to read since they're usually a Davos POV or others who are more interesting.

To be honest, everyone and everything in ASOIAF is so screwed up that by this point I'm just 'meh, I kind of hope the people I like don't die too horribly.'

I tend to agree. I am still curious what certain things will add up to. I'm also hoping for those I like to either not die horribly or maybe some of them might actually survive (but in what state and with what scars?).

I've kind of given up on ASOIAF and GoT at this point. The Venn Diagram overlap between characters I like and characters who could actually survive to get s*** done is increasingly small. And at a certain point, darkness-induced apathy really starts to sink in. I made it further than my boyfriend, though; he quit on Book 3.
(still pulling for Stannis the Mannis though)
