Oh, that is the best cosplay I've seen so far for Solas. They're even doing the hand thingy like Solas does when casting. Nicely done.

She does! I was on a white hair/purple eyes fixation when I created her. I love different combos of hair/eye colors. It's probably due to my anime-fangirl side. 

 

I was clearly on a dark lipstick kick last fall. I sometimes feel like I have the only Inquisitor with dark red lipstick on.

 

She's not derping all the time.

I am really bad with makeup IRL.  I'll wear it maybe twice a year for fancy occasions like weddings, and it always takes me forever to sort it out.  When I hit all those makeup options in the CC, I just went, "F*** it, I don't know!"  So my poor quizzy is a bit light on the makeup

That comic makes me wonder if you're a dreamer in the Fade and see another dreamer ...how could you know if they were real or just a spirit's portrayal?

And to answer Nehn, I think that's part of the trick of the Fade. You don't know. The real Dreamers are the only ones who can walk in to someone else's mind like that (ala Solas), I think. And they're supposed to be fairly uncommon. My guess is that most people would assume it's a spirit or a trick of the Fade.
 

This was one of the best parts, honestly.   The one person she had been trying to get and stay away from.

 

I really liked how that scene was written, as well. Especially with the matter of Kieran.

This is one of the reasons my canon gameplay is to always let Morrigan drink that well. Just so good. Also I feel it shows a lot of motherly love from Flemeth, or at least her version of it. I like the theory that Mythal set up the well a long, long time ago... and intended Morrigan to drink it one day. Or her 'chosen one', I suppose, since she wouldn't have known Morrigan yet.

 

I have been thinking about creating a Lavellan that woudn't drink from the well but it's very hard because everytime I think about it I come to a conclusion that my Lavellan would drank from it because it's her heritage and it seems that I can't get over from that thought.

My Lavellan chose the option, when talking to Solas, that the Dalish didn't make her that way, it was her own choices that led her to be who she was. And she follows that to the letter even at the Well. She listens to Cole and Solas, especially, and chooses what she thinks is best overall. Morrigan would be the better vessel. What if it countered her mark somehow? She wouldn't have known.

Also, I'll need to see if we have a save that won't die horribly and can bring Solas along. 

I will say that there are some very difficult wraiths to fight at a certain place. It's optional, of course. But high 20s is really recommended.

 

To be honest, everyone and everything in ASOIAF is so screwed up that by this point I'm just 'meh, I kind of hope the people I like don't die too horribly.'

Speaking of characters dying: I do enjoy how the series is kind of spinning a few things on its head, though. No more of that books are spoilers bit!

 

The only hint I can recall as to why blood magic might make it harder to enter the Fade comes from the Blood Mage specialization background in DA2:

 

 

Bolded emphasis mine.  It may be that blood magic, since it draws from the mage's own life force and not lyrium or mana, functions a bit like templar powers do by rooting the mage in the physical world.  That physicality may make it difficult to get into the Fade.  Since the mage is basically substituting their life force for mana, it might even weaken their natural connection to the Fade.  Gameplay-wise, I don't think blood magic is supposed to work on spirits, possessed corpses, or other enemies who are not "alive" (though that rule is spotty).  It would also help explain why Meredith's super-charged templar powers were so worthless against my blood mage Hawke 

 

 

I wish I could go back to Origins and apologize to Loghain.  Broken clock right twice a day and all that 

I think that's a good theory. Might even lead to something to do with the Forgotten Ones being cast in to the abyss. The rule you mention would undoubtedly matter if it swung one way or the other, because (given the grounding theory) if a powerful spirit poked through the Fade, attained a physical form somehow (not sure how, but bear with me...), and started using blood magic? Like, it's not connected to the Fade, right? So there could possibly be a way, if one assumes that blood itself carries magical power. Dun dun...dun?

We know Dragon blood has a power to it, for instance. What if someone cast blood magic with a ton of dragon blood?

Edit: I wouldn't be surprised if the Nevarrans have a huge store of dragon blood.

Guys, guys. A funny version of the Lavellan going to a Fen'Harel temple and finding Solas there played in my head and I had to share it. I don't doubt this kind of idea has been shared before, but I made myself laugh with this one.

 

This is totally assuming that Abelas went off to this Fen'Harel Temple we all wish to exist and post-game at some point Solas showed up and removed the vallaslin from Abelas. And also assuming Lavellan had her vallaslin removed.

 

Lavellan walks around a beautiful temple and somewhere along the walk bumps into vallaslin-free Abelas.

 

Lavellan: Abelas?

Abelas: You? Again?

Lavellan: Where are your vallaslin?

Abelas: The Dread Wolf took them. You?

*lightbulb over Lavellan's head*

Solas emerges from around a corner: Abelas who are you talking-oh.......

I love makeup, and I was so glad this game didn't do the same stupid thing other games sometimes do, which is put multiple makeup options on the same slider. Or makeup shading and tattoos on the same slider. That is always frustrating.

 

I have a lip color of a very similar shade I was wearing the week I made her. She's nothing like me otherwise though. I have some light freckles on my face but they're more like Solas'. Purple eyes IRL would be nice though.

I've kind of given up on ASOIAF and GoT at this point.  The Venn Diagram overlap between characters I like and characters who could actually survive to get s*** done is increasingly small.  And at a certain point, darkness-induced apathy really starts to sink in.  I made it further than my boyfriend, though; he quit on Book 3.

 

(still pulling for Stannis the Mannis though)

I think things are look alright for the 'good guys' atm, in the books at least.

I actually rather liked the Dorne chapters in FFC.  Those and Sansa's chapters were what kept me paying vague attention.  And by extension, the snooze-fest that has been Dorne on the TV show, coupled with the changes in Sansa's story, made me give up on it  I mean, seriously, how do you cast an actor like Alexander Siddig as Doran Martell, and then NOT use him more?

I read them years apart and separately, but there's a reading guide that lets you read 4/5 concurrently since they fall mostly in the same timeline so it's like reading one longer work in order. I'm in this one until the end, personally, on the book side.

 

The show has been a mess this season and Dorne is yes, particularly disappointing.

Thanks! I am horrible at drawing people. Cats, pumpkins, landscapes, still life, and flowers I am down with (which is incredibly frustrating cause I can picture how my set of Lavellen tarot card would look I just can't draw them). However, I can manage to grab a decent screen shot from time to time and run it though some post processing to get the look I want. I am girlishly giddy with how well this one came out.

On a somewhat unrelated note, does anyone wish there was a third option to the whole blood magic conversation with Solas? With it being so taboo and forbidden I have a hard time RP a character that is all excited about it, but having had some conversations with Solas that I feel sift my Lavallen's prospective I felt like she would not necessarily be all "blood magic is evil". I really wish there was a third option with a "well, you've certainly given me a lot to think about tone."

 

I wanted a "please explain more, I'm interested in your point of view" option. As it is, you don't have the "i agree" or "blood magic is evil." I wanted to hear more of what Solas had to say on the subject, and was sad I didn't have the opportunity. 

 

 

 

 

Reading the Masked Empire, I keep going back and forth on the Solas and Felassan are the same person theory. There's some things Felassan does that seem very Solas. And then there's some things he does that seem very not Solas. But if they are the same person, that means they both have to be vessels for Fen'Harel. And I'm very attracted to the Solas is Fen'Harel theory. And there does seem to be a bit of a character jump from Felassan to Solas that wouldn't make sense if they were both Fen'Harel. But then you also have the similarities... I don't know what to think!

I believe it's said somewhere that when you kill a mage in the Fade they become tranquil (Why can't I remember that in game? Must have been said in DA2.) 

So Felassan couuuuuuld possibly be a Tranquil. Thinking about a Tranquil Felassan reminds me of a tinfoil theory that Solas took over his body (which I'm 90% sure he didn't.) But I can see Solas as being the master if only because he so easily killed those mages during his personal quest.

However because of how much he despises slavery I don't think Solas is the master. Andruil was a crazy ****** though.Could it even have been a Forgotten one?

Why would Solas need the eluvian password though? The master never gets the password, and Solas clearly knows how to use the eluvian network, as confirmed by the epilogue. My personal theory also leads me to believe his sleeping spot was probably also obscured along the network somewhere. But that's the sort of thing I wonder about.

 

Now, there could be multiple networks, and Briala's password is good for one of them. It's plausible given the scope of the world.
