I finished my Lavellan play through. It's just...I'm really...I have several emotions right now. All at the same time.

I didn't expect to plan a second Solasmance, and yet...Here I am about to do so  . I'm going to make a very different character this time, I think. Ninaeve was intended to be savvy and relatively worldly for a Dalish. I head canon that she is the one her clan sent to trade with humans. She learned to be diplomatic and cunning, and she's always felt that the Dalish are too xenophobic and cloistered. She'd been hoping to encourage her clan to build more alliances, be more involved with city elves.

 

I'm still playing with names for this new one. I'm going to go mage this time, instead of rogue, and I think her being a rift mage just like him, actually selecting that specialization out of admiration for him will work really well. She's going to be more introverted, and a little naive. Her perception of her people idealized. 

 

"Odette" is coming to mind, like the main character from Swan Lake. I don't think it sounds very Elven though. 

 

I had a similar backstory for one of my Lavellans, both she and Dashanna wanted to be less isolationist but it wasn't a popular idea with the hunters.

Odette is an French name. I can tell, I'm Orlesian...I mean French. Only... Sorry to disappoint you but here it's highly considered and a "grandma's name"... That name has stopped being fashionable since the 1950's.

Happened to see your Inquisitor posted over on the badass screenshots thread, might I say bravo for how totally they rock that Elgar'nan vallaslin? I can never get it looking right whenever I try to use it... (but maybe that's because I suck in character creator in general).

Thank you! I adore the Elgar'nan vallaslin but it's so hard to make it work properly. I think it helped that I set out to make my Lavellan hardcore as f*ck, because it really works to have such a tough-looking vallaslin when she's being all bad*ss

I actually posted on this a few pages back but I'll say it again:

 

I am 100% against the idea that Solas killed him.  I think one of the trapped gods did (probably Falon'Din because he's a jerk) and that's the reason why Weekes still considers Felassan's vallaslin a spoiler.  He was bound to the service of Falon'Din but worked for Fen'Harel as best he could.

 

 

Same, I also don't believe this was Solas. Three reasons:

a) Solas is so pro freedom and freedom of thinking, so having slaves would seem like such an out of character move for him.

Consequently (and I could be completely wrong about this), this is the reason why there is no Fen'Harel vallaslin, because unlike the other gods he did not have slaves/followers/etc

c) He could clearly use Eluvians when he went to visit Flemeth/Mythal

 

Of course, it could equally be that we have not seen Fen'Harel vallasin because it is spoiler information and it might be released in due course, but somehow I still think its absence from vallasin chart is significant

 

I think Felassan was just a big Fen'Harel fanboy - which from content point of view prepared / hinted to readers of things to come in DAI

I don't think it's impossible that Fen'Harel had followers. After all, I've mentioned it before but I have a lot of curiosity about the manner/process/place/and protection that allowed him to enter uthenera and not be murdered or attacked.

 

Felassan definitely seems like a Fen'Harel fanboy more than anything. He doesn't fear Fen'Harel, he fears whoever his master is awaiting him in the Fade.

I think it's very likely that Fen'harel had followers and even vallaslin in the early days but something happened which changed how he viewed everything. Ultimately that lead to creating the Veil and sealing away his fellow gods.

I might be remembering the scene wrong, but I took the reference to "vulgar" to mean that she thought her own fascination/desire from looking at his hands was the vulgar thing. Not his hands. Because most of us can agree that that's probably the last thing to find disagreeable about the man.

*cough* Haven't read Message Sent, (I saw what you people did to me last time when it came to Solvaellan fan-fic...  ) but yeah, it sounds like she finds the image of his hand rather...enticing. Hence saving the screenshot of it like a perv. 

In Witcher news, I'm now realizing how many rather important and entertaining side-quests I missed. I may be a little overgrown for Novigrad by this point, but by god I'm overturning all the cobblestones.

(Now if someone could explain how to beat someone in Gwent when they have a Vernon Roche and John Natalis card...)
