Guys, I know we want them to work on it as long as they must, but ... how far off were previous poignant DLCs from the original release date? I'm wondering if I have to expect to wait a year, or half a year...

So, I used the outfit from Solas' romance card... and in lieu of no defining texture, did anyone notice the scales I put in? Well after I did that, I got to thinking. Now that he (presumably) has Mythal's power, if he comes back, I have this little story in my head that initially it might be in the form of a dragon. He saves Lavellan, but she doesn't know it's him -- just thinks it is some territorial beast.

I noticed! I just assumed it was a scaley under armor design, but that would be neat if he absorbed Mythal's dragon powers.

"Why is the Vir'Abelasan turning yell...oh you rat-b*****d!"

 

Still, it could always be worse... imagine if we'd had access to a Mabarin in Inquisition, no doubt it would have immediately jumped in the Well or treated the whole thing as a giant dog bowl and started lapping up the water. Thus we'd have been forced to deal with our beloved pet Dog as the newest servant of Mythal and holder of the extremely important information we need?

Party member 1: They like to...you know, go hang out in the Fade. A lot.

Well, there was that mabari merchant at the Hissing Wastes. He's friendly at least.

 

But yes, I'd love to have the Ranger spec back again. I need my Lavellan to run around with a wolf, especially since the Dalish hunter card showed a wolf. 

 

The fact that rogue Lavellans get a wolf tarot card amused me afterward. Like, well, that was perfect.

 

I also missed having a dog. Best DAO mod was the dog as 5th party member mod.

 

It amused me as well. Totally perfect.

 

And yes, I miss having a dog. It really felt a bit weird for me NOT to have a dog in DA:I when we had a dog in the previous games.

Hee, the wolf tarot card is why my rogue Lavellan is my 'canon' playthrough. It would be really cool if we got to have Solas back and he was a wolf part of the time, or shapeshifting became one of his attacks.

My first playthrough and all of my canons are always dual-wield rogues. Just my favorite play style. Even in Mass Effect, my Shepard is an Infiltrator. Tactical Cloak was my second best friend next to the m98 Widow.

 

 

Was just watching this video and since I haven't been strong willed enough to turn down a nice Fade kiss, have never seen some of these parts before. This segment was particularly interesting:

*blinks* I actually caught up!   I was getting worried I wouldn't tonight, which would be bad because I wanted to comment, but I also wanted to make sure that the point hadn't been brought up yet (regarding the emphatic Solas' story is NOT a happy one tweet): I see it's been discussed that this could refer to his past, but personally I think that this could mean that his plans fail and/or he is too late, i.e. keeping the pantheon alive/freeing them/[actual plot, if different] fails and thus the result of his past mistakes is just... failure. That would impact his character greatly I would imagine, but it would not necessarily mean his death, nor the end of our romance. He could change (possibly for the worse) because he sacrificed so much (including our romance) to do this [plot] and all for naught.

 

Also, I have the unpleasant theory that his plot could mean a separation of Fen'Harel from Solas, if there is such a distinction as with Anders/Justice, which would make our romance.... ambiguous. After all, if there were divide lines, they were pretty seamless, so Lavellan would be faced with the awkward choice of deciding whether she was in love with Solas the elf or with Fen'Harel. Personally, I lean more towards the opinion that Fen'Harel isn't exactly possessing a modern elf, off the top of my head just judging by Solas' name, which is too poignant not to be deliberate (although I admit this is a weak reason, since anyone can change their name) and other things as well. Still, we hear anecdotes about a young man sleeping in ruins and exploring the Fade... I wonder if that would indicate a modern elf's life just before he met something (someone) in the Fade he didn't expect. Still, countering that argument, a modern elf would have been raised with stories of how Fen'Harel is a kind of semi-evil trickster figure, not a god to inspire confidence to say the least. But anything is possible!

 

OK, stopping back-and-forth rant. I'm just arguing with myself at this point because apparently I'm on the fence about the subject. 

 

...Of course, I forgot what else I wanted to comment on, apart from the fact that I wish I'd caught up a few hours ago rather than now for... various reasons. 

 

Off-topic related to "various reasons:" I'm sooo excited!  For reasons I can't explain just yet. But I wanted to share that I'm really excited about something. (I tried holding it back.)

I am Team Lone Wolf. There's no 'Solas and Fen'Harel'.  There's just Fen'Harel (currently calling himself Solas).  We've already had a possessed LI and the Dread Wolf has been set up as an evil god since DAO.  Him being a bald nerdy egg instead is just so perfect.
