Personally I imagine my Lavellan curled up in a ball of tears in the middle of her bed when no one is watching to relieve the feelings so that during the day she can do her job. This is so much worse when Solas is still around and he stonewalls you, I'm almost disappointed that they didn't implement some way to express how distracting that is, never mind the breakup.

That's pretty much how I imagine my Lavellan too. And the bolded part... jeez when I went back to the rotunda and talked to Solas, only to find that wall of ice. Ouch. I'd have liked some of the companions acknowledging that too, maybe giving you support if you have a good relationship with them; if they had time to only implement a couple lines, I'd rather have that than Sera's comment if you have your vallaslin removed...

Oh... it never occurred to me that it was possible to craft guard generating weapons for rogues... Thanks!

Yeah...my Lavellan did not respond well to that.  I think she would have handled the breakup in a more constructive manner if he'd been less cold to her.  I understand why he kept that distance, but from her perspective...I don't think she said a word to him after that conversation in the rotunda unless she absolutely had to.  And I'm not sure she believed him at the end when he told her "What we had was real."  It took her quite a while to come to grips with all that anger and hurt.

Knight Enchanters just aren't fair. At some point while fighting four pride demons at once in that one rift battle in JoH with just my PC by herself, I realized that I was intensely OP.

I realised it when Viv was soloing the highest level Emprise du Lion dragon on hard.

I still haven't played the DLC.  I took a break from the game to watch Torchwood, but I will also be taking Solas, Cole and Cassandra. I take them everywhere with me.

My dream team is Solas, Cole and Cassandra also. They just get along so well! And it's like the perfect balance in the group. Not just game mechanic wise, but personality, beliefs....everything.

Cole and Cassandra are my Lavellan's BFFs.

Dorian and Leliana are probably my Lavellan's BFFs.  Cole is a little different since I have spirit!Cole.  They're very close, but he's more like her...guardian angel, I guess?  Especially as she's dealing with the emotional mess after Solas leaves.

Speaking of JoH, I'm currently playing the DLC and I must say those damn spiders are quite annoying. =___=;

Also, playing it post-breakup but not post endgame because I'm pathetic and want to hear some Solas dialogue and want to have him around with me.

Those spiders are endless. ENDLESS.

I thought the ones that kept respawning in the Hissing Wastes were annoying. I knew nothing of true annoyance.

The Avvar Champions were also the bane of my existence. Crushing poor Cole with a big hammer swing.

I haven't done the DLC with my Solas romancer. I wasn't sure whether to go post game or not for Solas banter. That face...that face hates Solas so much. Haha. I so love my angry face Lavellan  she's a future antagonist in the making. Solas is a dead man.

I did bring Solas along for some of it with my Male Lavellan though. The Lavellan that still likes Solas  I kept subbing him in for Cole who I was trying to trigger some banter with but isn't so good for my nightmare layout. Also, I had a really rough time fighting Gurd because of the party he kept throwing (seriously dude. Stop bringing in so many friends to join the  fight) so Cole was sent out and I fought him and the dragon with Solas on my team, because Solas brings this face to the battlefield.

Spoiler

It makes sense for my Warden too.  She's an elven mage who loves research and kicking ass (being a Warden is basically her dream job).  She's still in a romance with another Warden so it makes a lot of sense that she'd be researching a way to end the Calling.  What doesn't make sense is staying away when all the stuff with Coryfish was going down, especially when her boyfriend got involved.  After getting his letter she would've been right back in Ferelden (and that wouldn't take long - she's a shapeshifter.  She can fly).

Doesn't Alistair say the Warden is following a crucial lead? One that could be lost if they were to drop it?

If they are as far West as I think they are then it would take months for them to travel back (the non shape shifting Wardens that is  ). Also, getting mail to them must take forever. Not only to get it all the way out there, but to actually track them down and hand it over.

I kept thinking that if you have no soul you left Alistair in the Fade, surely your romanced Warden would come back for answers. So why didn't they show? But then I started wondering about the time line between HLTA and getting the word sent out.. What if they are on the way back, but it took so long for them to get mail and get sailing that you have reached the end of the main story before they're back? FOR DLC POTENTIAL!? (never going to happen :D but I'll still keep suggesting it. Aha.) I know there was the rough estimate of a 3 year span for DAI. But for all I know the first 2 years are wandering around the Hinterlands and then everything after Skyhold happens fast. Or it might just feel that way...

I have two Canon Wardens because of my crazy alternate timeline headcanon mashup nonsense. Ahem.

My Dalish Warden wouldn't rush back. Sure, she was loved by all her crew and I'd like to think would swing by to help her King bro' Alibear. But she never wanted to be a Warden, so I'm happy with the idea that she's out there with her Vigil's Keep drinking crew, er I mean Wardens. And her lover Zevran, pub crawling and finding a cure so she can live out the rest of her days as a smexy assassin with Z. And help out her King Bro so he can be fertile and what not. I'm guessing that the letter Leliana gets out to her makes it sound like it's all under control, otherwise I can't imagine why the Warden would just send a 'good luck' response back instead of being more concerned. Unless BW has decided that our Warden's are all total jerks xD

As for my Elven Mage Warden. She romanced Alistair but isn't the type for hanging round castles. She's a fierce warrior. If she didn't have the taint she'd be immortal. Freaking battletank Arcane Warrior.. Anyho. smartest of my Wardens and would definitely be off learning more about Darkspawn and taints in order to help out her fellow Wardens. I imagine she'd get updates from Alistair where he'd probably warn her that all the Wardens are going crazy and it's particularly bad for the mage ones. So stay West.

Then of course I sent all the Wardens away in that playthrough.. So er... She hasn't really got a place to come back to and be Warden-y because who the heck knows what became of Vigils Keep.

After all those sovereigns I spent making that place usable as well..*grumble grumble grumble*

I'm just rambling now. But yes, in my head I have made the Warden situation work! Sorta. We'll just ignore when I play In Hushed Whispers and everything has gone to hell in a year and neither Hawke of the HoF are mentioned to have done anything. Er, let's just pretend that no news was coming out the South of Thedas during that time so they just never found out...yeaaah.

Same with mine. I kind of thought Cassandra at first but realized she'd have some more in common with Leliana, even though she and Cassandra are also very good friends. And Dorian is pretty much the most unlikely and yet best best friend a Lavellan could have. She and Cole are very close, but their bond and shared experiences operate on another level.

Has anyone seen the new item DLC pack?

The armor ... *blinks* ... one set of it *looks* like it's just body paint.  I'm sure it isn't but it LOOKS like it.

Edit:  The top part I mean.  The bottom part has pants.

You know, now that you mention it......do we actually ever click a "Start a romance with Solas" button. Because I was running around on my current playthrough which is after the break up but I haven't gone to fight Cory yet and I have a conversation option with Cullen that says "Start romance with Cullen" and I clicked it out of curiosity. He refuses of course because of being locked in with Solas....but I don't ever recall anywhere in conversation a "Start Romance With Solas" option happen.

Am I imagining this?

I've never noticed that, Solas does kinda lock you in without you realising it doesn't he?

Anyone good at creating gifs? I think that we need one with the Sentinels apppearing out of nowhere and a caption reading;

"Elven Ninjamancing Intensifies"

I arrived at the island...

Spoiler

That part always got to me, was not expecting that... :(

I'm reminded of a TV Tropers comment on this back in Dragon Age II when someone was joking about Wynne coming back from the dead and knocking the Hero of Ferelden in the head with her staff for letting things get out of control.

THE WARDEN: Was it a Blight? Were darkspawn killing people? No? Then it's not my 'freaking' job.

Thedas is a place so fraught with danger I can see it needing multiple Shepards running around the places trying to keep things from falling apart.

Wait a moment... did I write that, because it sounds extremely familiar and like something I'd have written?

Not sure, been a while since I went on tvtropes. Can't recall if I just read it, or wrote it... ah, that's gonna be seriously bugging me now!

There's also a decoration scheme for Skyhold and a throne and stained glass ... probably banners and heraldry as well.  I'm disappointed in the Oathbound steed though.  It's just a recolouration of the Bog Unicorn.  I mean, I know the nug, hart, horse and lizard-horse-thing are also just recoloured but I had thought the bog unicorn was supposed to be "different".

I second this. Because not only did Solas capture the heart in .0000007 sec.....Abelas did as well.

I mean seriously. Elves are sneaky romances. If things are truly done with Solas, then Lavellan may be in relationship with Abelas and not even know it.

Ha ha!

Here is the actual translation of what Solas says to Abelas at the Well of Sorrows:

"I'm totally dating this hot elf but I'm going to have to break her heart soon and run off. By all means, you have my blessing to help her recover from her misery. She is obsessed with ancient elves, have fun Abelas"

I headcanon around the stupidity of the warden situation in the case of my Surana - she was a better healer and researcher initially (at least, until she became an arcane warrior, couldn't resist the allure of ancient elven knowledge), and I think it was first assumed after the blight ended she'd possibly be headed in a research direction anyway. The events of the blight transformed her from a quiet scholar into a passionate people's warrior and political rabblerouser, who likely would have used her position in the Arling of Amaranthine to do unheard of things like put elves on the local council and encourage chantry tithes to be redirected into public education. Given the corrupting state of the wardens (the first warden sounds like a proper arsehole), she was likely considered a liability in the long run despite her fame and achievements, and likely was reassigned a place in research in the deep roads so to restrain her.

In the case of my Brosca it makes absolutely no sense. She's a fighter, and would rather defy orders than sit around doing nothing. Very practical when it comes to 'end-of-the-world' scenarios :P

Although, in their defence, Clarel did not know about Corypheus - and thus, from the warden's perspectives, they initially didn't see the blight and the breach being connected at all. If your Warden was several miles underground, and alone, when the discovery of the breach is made - a magical hole in the sky several miles above them - what could they do? A more sensible course would be to press for an 'we stop the end of the world' alliance between wardens and the Inquisition, but being out alone on this mission means that they'd rely on messages to influence the direction of the Wardens, which could be ignored/superceded by Clarel.

The puzzling thing is - why, after Adamant, did the Warden not come back? The events of Inquisition occur over a long period of time - at least a year, I'd wager. Quite possibly they'd be done by then. If the Inquisition allied with the Wardens it'd be a perfect opportunity to come back. And if the Inquisition banished the Wardens of Orlais, who better to send as an investigator and negotiator, to try and convince otherwise, than the Warden? They have a great rep, have done court negotiation before, and know key members of the Inquisition personally - Leliana and Morrigan, (and possibly Cullen for mages) - without being involved at Adamant.

Of course the real reason is that BioWare would screw up the portrayal of the Warden but they could have come up with a better excuse :P

I've been an elf fan since DA:O (I've always been into elves even outside DA tbh) but I've never really been interested in the elven romances until Solas. ;) And my love for the elves grew even more after playing DA:I (despite some of the mistakes they've gotten with their history). :P

You could imagine how happy I was seeing all the elfy stuff in this game (both the good and the bad)

If you allied with the Architect, I like to headcanon that after hearing the news about Corypheus, the HoF decided to keep their head low due to the sheer level of awkardness this would end up generating;

"You say you met an Ancient Darkspawn Magister who might have started the Blight? W-why would you need my help? I don't know anything about that! I've never even heard or encountered any Darkspawn who might have fit that exact description! Nor did I speak with them at any length! And even after hearing how they might have accidentally kinda started the Fifth Blight, I DEFINITELY did not willingly ally with them to help take down an even worse darkspawn that was threatening the land! Nope... not me, not this guy!"

ugh guys, so I've finally got to What Pride Had Wrought on my second Solavellan playthrough.

I'm agonising over who to bring this time - my first time it was Solas (of course), Cole (who was pretty cool as usual, although not too insightful), and Blackwall (whose total amazement is pretty fun, and relatively respectful). This time I'm brining along Solas (duh), and also tossing up Dorian or Sera (my quizzy likes them both a lot albeit she often has to her tongue in conversation, and finds them both trying after a while - I reckon she may struggle not to punch Sera in the face afterwards) and then Cassandra, begrudingly, because I need a tank and fancy destroying my slowly-built relationship with her (regret not specialising as a KE now). Ideally I'd take along an all-mage party - I want to see Vivienne take snipes at Morrigan - but we'd die in seconds and I'm a total completionist when it comes to dungeons. Damn game mechanics.

I might just try an all-mage party just to see what happens. For science.
