What goes on through these Lavellans' heads the first time they kiss their love interests? (Solas x f!Lavellan and Dorian x m!Lavellan)
Solas braiding Lavellan's hair.
Dirty hobo. (Solas and Dorian)
Little Solas sneak peek.

Uh, what?
I've never got the comparision between the two. I've always found Solas interesting looking (even before I found him attractive) but I can actually barely picture Nic Cage's face.

I've seen the Cage Solas pics. but I didn't think anyone actually thought that way. Solas, based on his promo, was more like, well he sounds kind of interesting to talk to. And he is interesting looking, especially given the backing off from the DA2 elf look.

Nicolas Cage is a new one for me, most of the things I've seen complain that her looks like Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins, which I also don't get. Maybe it's because they are both bald?
Yup..all bald men look the same. *rolls eyes*

I thought the Cage Solas pics were hilarious. And honestly, based purely on the promotional pictures of Solas, I didn't think I'd be romancing him. Until BioWare was all like, "super secret story reasons" and my ears perked up like a hyperactive puppy. Now I can't imagine playing Lavellan any other way.
At least the person who submitted the confession is doing the Dorian romance.
Best Mage.

I know right. *Shrug* Though it is somewhat interesting to see what people pick up on and do or do not like about the various characters, sometimes I am left wondering how exactly they got from point A to B and then all the way over to D. Mostly I just go, okay, I don't really see that, but it seems to work for them. I try to be as open-minded as possible to people's different viewpoints and interpretations, but some just really throw me. Like the Billy Corgan thing.
A question: I keep seeing stuff on tumblr about how Solas was meant to be an m!Lavellan romance but was cut due to lack of time (and the same has been said about Cullen). Now, I have a pretty good memory for usless facts and I remember watching a panel from Gaymer X on YouTube about how they writers tried to write one of the LIs as bi but scrapped this due to the character not working that way (which is fair enough, sometimes characters don't do what the author intends). I always assumed this was Cullen due to the amount of male romance dialouge recorded for him. Anyway, I haven't heard a single thing about any of the romances being cut for lack of time. In fact, I've even heard Weekes say that the he'd already planned the f!Lavellan/Solas romance before Laidlaw approached him about it (he may have been joking though).
I've searched around a bit but been unable to come up with anything offical, just fans treating it as fact. So - has anyone ever seen offical word on this?
EDIT: If this starts anything unpleasnt then, mods, please remove this post.
I seem to recall Weekes saying that he when he wrote the romance for Solas it was for females only due to "super story sense". I don't know if they were planning on changing that and just ran out of time or not. I don't remember where I read/heard that. Sorry.

I remember that. It was from when Solas was revealed as an LI.
I've always assumed that the voice files for Solas were more likely due to having a very limited amount of time to record the dialouge meant that they just got all four VAs back into the studio to save time. I guess I just want an offical word on this matter because I don't like seeing people treat hearsay as fact. It aggravates the historian in me.

If I remember correctly from an interview, Weekes approached everyone with the idea of a Solas romance and they basically told him they liked it but that it'd have to be really gated because they didn't have enough time/resources, whatever. And I think Weekes said it was fine because he'd written it from the perspective of a female elf with Solas anyways so it could be gated just to that.
I still wish he'd been open to male elves too but hey, it is what it is.

Yeah. That is similar to what I remember reading/hearing in interviews.
I'd at least like the option of flirting with him as a male elf. I liked being about to flirt with Cass and have her turn my Inky down. Gave the romance a sense of closure. I think Solas would be flattered but turn Lavellan down nicely.
I distinctly remember Mike Laidlaw explaining how the Solas romance came to be and that he told Patrick that it would have to be female elves only to which Patrick had said he'd written it that way. It was at PAX South when Karin Weekes had called Patrick to answer a question that someone had asked.

And yet I've seen some people around tumblr-land stating that was just a bunch of back pedalling to explain why they "cut" the male romance. People will believe what they want to believe, no matter what is said to the contrary. ![]()
It's quite possible it was written with female elf only in mind because of the limited resources left for such things, but suggesting the writers and devs in general are lying about things because it's not the way someone wanted them is a bit mean-spirited. We got what we got, and I'm certainly glad we got a good blend of characters and romances in the end.
So I just got back from E3. Not much stuff for Mass Effect (other than a trailer) and nothing for Dragon Age, unfortunately. But there was a lot of other cool stuff there. Click the spoiler if you wanna read my lengthy, nerdy ramble.
tl;dr: VR. Awesome. It's a thing now, and it's awesome.

I've seen people comparing him to Imhotep, the villain from "the mummy". No, just No.
But Hitman maybe...

Don't know if any of you saw this of even like the Buffy the Vampire TV series, but I am sharing because it has been making me smile all day with silly AU possibilities, especially on the idea of who would have a ridiculous fear of a small furry woodland creature like Anya: Cassandra or Sera?
And Solas would be in soo much trouble

The armor improved for all classes in DA:I, but I could have done without some of the spikier bits. Clearly whomever commissioned Hawke's champion armor was also making quizzy's ![]()
