Pharamond states that Tranquils become invisible to spirits but not immune. They need to be lured to cross the gap between the Fade and reality. He wound up luring a demon by letting it try to possess him. He thought the trying part was enough to restore his own connection to the Fade. And then he wound up getting possessed in the process. So that is another way albeit risky.

I just had a crazy theory;

Maybe Solas was a Tranquil slave of another "God". This might explain the scar on his forehead! And then Fen'Harel befriended Solas, took pity on him, and decided to reverse the Rite. In doing so, Fen'Harel might have somehow passed his soul/godhood onto Solas?

That is an intersting thought....but I'm still on the Solas is Fen'Harel boat.

 

However, I do sometimes wonder if Fen'Harel/Solas is/was actually an elf.....kinda coming off like Cole there, haha. Anyway, I think about it because of the fact there are no elven depictions of Fen'Harel. It is always a wolf and I have yet to see a good enough reason why. I mean, you look at the other murals and statues and it's not like you would be able to recognize any of the rest of the pantheon based on them. So I just can't see Fen'Harel looking at them and saying "No, no, do me as a wolf so no one will recognize me in my elf form."

 

So, who knows, maybe Fen'Harel was some sort of spirit thingy and at some point towards the end of Arlathan possessed a slave or something....and that's why there are no elf murals or statues of him.

So, I've been wondering about this for a while, and I'm sure it has come up somewhere before, but probably before my frequenting this place again.

Solas can provide a "partial translation" (partial, uh huh, what are you leaving out, Vhenan?). Are there any theories on what this is or who it depicts?

 

I haven't finished the entire temple yet, but he says some things when you first start poking around (I began with the spirit door) about the magic in the tombs being attracted to the Inquisitor because of the Anchor, which had me scratching my head. Now, I have heard that he also comments on how odd the Temple is, yet there is one of the measuring the Veil artifacts inside the Temple. Been saving my thoughts and impressions until I finish making my way through it.

Yes, he does make comments like that along the way, like when you get the rewards from the tombs.  The statue isn't visually much, but the fact that it says Solas is giving you a partial translation makes me wonder.

Yesterday, I was very inspired, and I came up with 20+ chapters of ideas for a Modern AU fanfiction : a Law Enforcement AU (Solavellan of course).

Summary
"When an ancient elven orb is stolen from the Museum of History and Archeology in broad daylight, it's up to Detective Lavellan to investigate the case. With the help of the local elven mythology expert, the young detective will uncover a plot involving a mysterious sect. From the Presidential Palace of Val Royeaux to the Arbor Wilds, between politics and museum halls, the Inquisition will have much to do. Detective Lavellan's research on the history of the orb will also lead her to investigate a strange case that was never solved. The main suspect? An unknown individual using the pseudonymn "Fen'Harel".

I'd use the term "Inquisition" for "police". It would mainly follow the events of the game (but "translated" in the modern setting, of course). Would be Asexual!Solas friendly, since I intend to put the smut in interlude chapters that will be entirely optional to the story. Sounds interesting to anyone? *hides*

I would love to use that mod, except that my Mahariel uses Ghilan'nain's vallaslin and I love the DAO version of Ghilan'nain's vallaslin. 

 

Mine uses Anduril's and I've always hated the way it looks in DAO.  The full version from DAI is so pretty and suits my Mahariel.  But I agree, Ghilan'nain's DAO designis the best.  You could always request it without her vallaslin.

 

The only problem with the mod is pixelation with the simple versions of the vallaslin.  It seems to be a fault in DAO, and not something the author can fix.
