I've been wondering..does the PS4 play PS2 and PS3 games?  The Xbox One is going to be able to play some popular 360 games soon but probably not regular XBox games.

No, it does not. Only way to play them is to rent and stream them through PlayStation Now.

I'll probably play Andromeda as well, even though I wasn't really excited with what they showed at E3. But yeah, I'll have to save up for either a powerful PC or one of the new consoles since there's a lot of games I want to play that I can't play on my laptop or my PS3. (Fallout 4, eeeeee!)

I have a shiny new gaming PC, but...here's the thing.  Mass Effect and I are like amiable exes.  The love affair is over, and the breakup was violent and messy.  But we made up with Citadel DLC and now we're friendly again.  I'm just treading lightly around anything it does in the future.  All those wonderful nostalgic feelings came back watching the Andromeda trailer, but without more information, that's all it is: nostalgia.

See, I've already accidentally walked into one tragic romance with a character more than five times my age in a Bioware game, I don't want to consciously do it again in ME :P And I don't really like Kaidan (sorry), so I just might not romance anyone in ME1 and wait until ME2 and see what the options are there. After the transition from DA:O to DA2 and finding myself locked out of almost every romance because I flirted with everyone in the wrong order, I'm going to be careful.

Oh, dear. Well. I'll suggest your best bet for a romance in ME2 to be Garrus if you aren't at all interested in Kaidan or Liara. Otherwise worrying over which order you flirted with someone will be the least of your problems come ME3.

Your best choice for an LI is probably Liara then.

Stay away from Thane.

...

I keep forgetting he exists.

It's not his fault.  Not only is he the one person without any major personal issues, he's also a love interest in the same game as Garrus and Thane.

EDIT:

And if you're RPing as lesbian Shepard just be prepared for her to sound flirty with Jacob no matter what you do.

Ugh, yep. This was so bad. The lean back, the sultry voice. No. This made me stop talking to him at all after completing his loyalty mission.

I just ignore him, don't talk to him at all and don't do his quest. I don't feel bad about it at all. In fact..the rest of my companions don't really seem that upset about it either.

ME1 can certainly ninjamance you. I was just NICE to Kaidan and then later, when pursuing Liara, wound up getting love triangle dialogue.

Dragon Age has mostly improved on this, though Blackwall can kind of do it, and formally starting something with Solas and then confirming it on the balcony can happen very early in the game. Because of story structure timing, you can get locked in until you have a chance to break it off with Solas, which doesn't happen until after the temple. If you dump him before he dumps you, you're not locked in, but by then it's often too late to start anything with most other LIs.

Shepard, no.  Why are you flirting.  You're a lesbian.  And in a relationship.  Stop it.  Stop it now.

I had to stop talking to him.

Urgh.  Kaidan and his ninjamance.  It's like the game never expects you to romance anyone other than him.  There's not even an option to say 'I'm into Liara' when he asks about this relationship with him that you apparently have (apparently Manshep has the option to say that with Ashely).

ME1 was ninjamance city.  I was lukewarm on both Kaidan and Liara, holding out for Garrus    But you have to be really horrible to Kaidan for him to never bring up the romance, and I could never bring myself to be quite that mean.  Then if you tell him no, he gets all confused.  And Liara, in her adorable-but-frustrating Liara-ish way, is even worse at taking a hint.  At least it got better in ME2.

As for Jacob, he really grew on me as a character.  It was nice to have a sane, normal buddy amidst the crazy of ME2's cast, and I decided I liked him after playing as ManShep and not having to tiptoe through his dialogue trees.  It's still frustrating playing as FemShep, but I've learned how to get through his dialogue with minimal bad flirting.

Sam Traynor is sweet but her romance feels underwritten (which is odd because Weekes wrote her).  She also the really stupid shower scene.

Apparently in the future women shower with their underwear on?

@Capricorn and @Nightsymphony - I am loving the handful of Cadash + BFF Solas, art pieces you have included. I have been playing my f!Cadash for the last couple days, and I could totally see her doing being that way with Solas.

@Shallow waters - Spent an ungodly number of hours involved in ME, and that (unfortunately) was not simply playing the game. No need to rehash what has been hashed, rehashed, slashed-n-hashed, then re-Rehashed again. (had my breakup much like Sable, but without the redemption part.)

However, I do still occasionally play around with ME1 and ME2. Many have already listed the different DLC for you, and I thought I would chime in a bit (for nostalgia sake ;) )

ME1

1) Bring Down the Sky - I really enjoyed this DLC. It doesn't have game ending significance, but some content is referenced through save imports. A couple of interesting characters. As stated, this most likely will come with the set (at least it did when I had repurchased the trilogy for the PC, when I was working on the ThaneMOD).

2) Pinnacle Station - This might end up as included content with your purchase, as well. Not much to say on it. It's mostly about combat. *shrug*

ME2

1) Zaeed: Price of Vengeance - Also included in your purchase. Fun character, voiced by the late-great Robin Sachs.

2) Stolen Memories - you gain another optional squadmate, and a fun little romp. Well worth it.

3) Lair of the Shadow Broker - Very fun, and new lore to play around with. Very nice addition, and since some aspects are canonized later in the series, might as well enjoy! :)

4) Overlord - I have a love/hate relationship with this game. There is "vehicle" aspects to it. I actually enjoyed the vehicle in ME1, but I was terrible at controlling the vehicle in ME2. But the story is well worth it, so I would definitely recommend. Again not necessary for the main story line, but save imports will be recognized.

5) Firewalker Pack (Project Firewalker) - Most likely included in your purchase. If you do play it, it is great practice for Overlord. LOL! I played it once. Once.

6) Arrival - As I believe Caddius pointed out, this DLC is canonized. However, I personally couldn't stand this DLC. I won't go into reasons, since it would be 'spoilery', and you still may wish to purchase it. I also only played this once, and then proceeded to ignore it ever-after. If I hadn't been so lazy, I should have just uninstalled it.

ME3

I only have the following DLC's for ME3. Needed them for testing with the mod.

1) From Ashes - I do like the character you get with this DLC, even though retrieving him was not terribly entertaining. It did have a few interesting lore additions, though some of it read rather ham-fisted to me.

2) The EC - this is just a requirement, nowadays.

3) Citadel - Another love/hate DLC, but for completely different reasons. And once again, I will not comment further to avoid spoilers. The only thing I will suggest, is not to start playing the DLC till after a main mission called Priority: Horizon.

Oh yeah, that.  I guess future underwear doubles as swimwear  Of the two new characters, I preferred Steve Cortez's character arc and romance.

@Shallow waters: quick cheat sheet of who's romanceable by whom, in which games:

ME1:
-FemShep: Kaidan, Liara
-ManShep: Ashley, Liara

ME2:
-FemShep: Garrus, Thane, Jacob, Kelly Chambers (not a full romance).  You can also continue the relationship with the ME1 LI, but they're not a squaddie.
-ManShep: Tali, Miranda, Jack, Kelly Chambers (not a full romance). You can also continue the relationship with the ME1 LI, but they're not a squaddie.

ME3:
So here's where it gets messy.  You can continue a relationship, or break it off/have it broken off and start a new relationship.  Be warned that Jacob and Thane's relationships are not considered full romances for ME3, though you can try to continue them until a certain point.  So, with that in mind:
-FemShep: Can continue Garrus, Kelly, Kaidan, and Liara's relationships.  Can initiate a new relationship with Kaidan, Liara, Samantha Traynor, or Diana Allers (not a full romance).
-ManShep: Can continue Liara, Ash, Kelly, Miranda, Jack, and Tali's relationships.  Can initiate a new relationship with Liara, Ash, Kaidan, Steve Cortez, or Diana Allers (not a full romance).

Hopefully that wasn't too much.  You can flirt with other characters besides these, but nothing comes of it.  Fellow ME players, lemme know if I've missed anyone.

If we're going to discuss ME, let's at least make it relevant. What do you think Solas would be in the ME universe?

A grumpy Prothean who puts Javik to shame.  And accidentally contributed to their demise  :P

Well, having decided to pursue Liara, none of that ever seemed out of place to me. Going to find her was the first thing I did in the game once I could venture out, and I loved her pretty much immediately. She became a really meaningful character to me, in part because of how much I could relate to her.

I love Traynor. She's sweet and weird and geeky and awkwardly adorable and the romance is pretty delightful.

DA's leaving people's clothes on wasn't always much better.

At least for DAI, they left the bras and underwear off.

The shower thing could've definitely been much better, and Traynor's romance is a bit underwritten and short, but I still really like it. Including Citadel with all of it is better.

Due to ~circumstances~, in ME2, if you want to continue to remain faithful to your ME1 LI, you can just play through without romancing anyone. The only one you can technically continue with actual relationship content is Liara, through the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC.

If you don't romance anyone else during the main game, Shepard will be looking at the ME1 LI's picture instead of where a love scene would happen.

To also be more on topic, Lair of the Shadow Broker would be a wonderful thing to use as inspiration for any Wolf Hunt type content. Solas needs your help/power. Solas returns. Work with Solas, make out with Solas, solve things, take on powerful enemies. ^_^

Liara :D That was the first thing that came to my mind. I guess because Liara became very important character and Solas was revelead to be very important in the end. I think Liara was also the main romance in ME series and to me Solas romance has been the main romance in DA:I.

I think Solas could also be one of the Leviathans. Leviathans made a huge mistake in their time and it seems Solas made a huge mistake as well.

As for Solas in the ME Universe, he has the curiosity of a certain Salarian, the occasional superiority complex of a particular Prothean, but the heart and soul of one Drell. ;)

With the caveat that it should also be possible to disagree with Solas or even sabotage/oppose him, like Morrigan in Witch Hunt.

One of the complaints I heard about ME (especially ME3) was how the game just assumed that Shepard was close with Liara and Garrus.  I happen to really love both those characters, so it wasn't a problem for me.  But for the people who didn't particularly like those characters or want them around, the game's assumption of friendship was really jarring.

I was also one of those who played ME3 before the EC. I sat in stunned silence for a good long while before I wept like a child and fell into deep depression for some time. I didn't want to feel like that, especially as someone who was no stranger to chronic depression. I was lost for words, and not in a good way. I am looking forward to MEA though and I never let it colour my view of BioWare as a whole.

It seems no matter what, BioWare holds my emotional health in the palm of their hand, especially this year with Solas and big changes coming to SWTOR.

Too many punches and I fear I'll fold.

I was so angry and heartbroken i could never play that game again not even after the EC was out.Sure everything sells good if it's tragic but really now what's wrong with happy endings!? Solas's romance was for me the last of the thing that brought my long time coming depression and it was hell:)I replayed the game so many times just to hear and see him again pics were not enough at that time.It was hard and still is till i get my closure. Now i'm leaving for 2 weeks for holiday.Thank God for you people here.I know i haven't posted as much but i was here every single day, reading about other people experience and helping each other out was really helpful, but it is all to a point,we all still need that closure and now we want it so badly we don't even care for some in what way it comes and what brings,we just want the pain go away.Well for me at least.Sad i know and also i know it's just a story but what a wonderful one and i'm sure a lot of people here saw themselves into they'r romance cuz i know i did:)Well then now that i got this out of my heart is time to heal and i hope this holiday will help me do just that:)I wish u all well and see you guys in 2 weeks unless i get my hands on my laptop :)Hugs:)
