UGH Please, no. I moved to Canada (for work reasons) and we don't want intolerant people here either. Let's just ship them all off to the sun.
The only intolerance we can't handle is this:
you don't **** with the nector of the gods.

And it's time for Illyria's weekly sigh of despair as she wanders into another elven thread on the forum and quickly nopes back out.
Congrats to the US though. I'm sure Solas would approve.
What about my mustache?!
That....is truly bizarre. ![]()

Yeah, I have friends in Canada and I like them. Also they do some really cool neuroscience. I don't wanna inflict our home-grown crazies upon Canada. We can stick the crazies in a time machine. They like "tradition" so much, let's see how they do with Viking raiders ![]()
It was always legal here, but just in celebration of our slower lower neighbors (mad love) here is some gay lavellan.
*snip of glory*
No shame in polluting this thread with my gayness.
Always approve +100 of Dorian and gay Lavellan ![]()
Americans are a bit slow. But eventually we figure it out. And then the rest of the world goes, "How cute, you finally hitched up your big boy pants and joined the party!" ![]()

I have actually thought about this before in relation to my decision to headcanon my Lavellan as bisexual, for fic purposes and such. Given Solas' high value of freedom of thought and disdain for yokes of control, I do think he would approve. ![]()
It was a decision that I led with going in, especially when I initially thought she might end up with Sera, but it wound up working out when our hobo apostate opened his mouth. Despite each having their own issues with modern/Dalish elves.
See, I play on PC, so the absent scars make no sense to me. Do you need a certain level of settings? I'm only on an (admittedly, new, and medium-level) laptop, so I can only play DA:I at low-medium quality. No ultra mesh hair for me D:
The scars seemed to disappear after an early patch but might be visible on high+. I haven't tested it since attempting to run the game on anything above medium can cause some serious framerate issues on this old PC.
I found the Deep Roads harrowing the first time I played through them. Really felt scared and repulsed by everything I'd seen, from Broodmothers to Hespith's poetry to the endless, endless onslaught of Darkspawn. Like it's a very long, developed part of the game, but I imagine you're travelling several miles to get to Branka. You feel the whole weight of the jounery by its length and endless mooks, in a weird way.
I agree, though it took me forever, and the Deep Roads had way too many spiders.
Now I can certainly mod them these days, so that wouldn't be a huge issue. I thought the team did a really good job, and agree this dark, horror of difficult, dark series of choices were best in Origins. There's a lot of sense of suffocation down there, the hordes, the exhaustion, the squicky elements, and much more.
WAT WAS DAT?!?
I load up a save of my Ari Lavellan (trying to get some decent screenies of my PC's, to show off), and the save is one I made in the Undercroft. I go to move the camera, and there is some random female elf standing near the "Special Delivery" chest. She then proceeds to say the following: "Sorry about that, Inquisitor. Mustache."

I shyte you not.
Again, I reiterate, WAT WAS DAT?!?
I know it's not the point at all but... Ari Lavellan? ![]()
That was the planned name for my first quizi, but when I actually sat down to create her, everything went in a completely different direction ![]()

I hate spiders in rl, but as much as I hate them I will not mod them out of the games. Even though I go eeek! every time I see them, especially the monstrous one in DA2. *shutter* I do however take a kind of mad glee in killing them though, even if I still can't handle them in the real world.

Spoiler
you don't **** with the nector of the gods.
I'm an American living in Canada and this is hilarious. You truly don't know maple anything until you come here.
And to keep it Solas related. I bet he would like filly maple candies from Canada.

I didn't have mods for spiders in DAI of course, so I had to work around it with other measures, but I am genuinely arachnophobic and anywhere there were speiders in DAO, I played top-down since I could still line up my tactics and also squint or look away. I think the first spider mod for DAO was something really silly that made them neon disco colored. I never used it since it didn't seem effective. DA2 was modded. DAI was the tough one.
My Lavellan is the best leader ever. "I'll just stealth myself and run while Solas, Cass, Dorian, you can go handle those!"

I actually think things like maple candies would be fittingly 'elfy', given their relationship with nature. Getting sweet syrup from the trees could be a Lavellan headcanon. ![]()

The more I think about this the more I think that there's a fantastic modern day AU in there.
*EDIT* Hold that though, I'm working out the details.

Only the purest of the pure may partake in maple fudge. It was only sampled to draw you in...

Another American living in Canada. I'm not alone!
I feel the same way about the maple stuff. They have maple EVERYTHING! Not that I'm complaining.
As for Solas...uh... art? I don't think this has been posted yet.
I really think we're a bit starved for content here. Must. Be. Patient! I wish I could contribute some awesome theories or something meaningful! I really enjoy reading them, though.

My ex is from Canada, I used to go visit rather often. OMG...those maple candies and maple cookies! You can't get that stuff here in Nevada. Maybe in some of the northern states, but not here. I am craving some maple stuff right now!!!! *drools*
And yes, I can totally see Solas loving maple everything!
I could drink maple syrup. Maple fudge though...mmmm. I had a sample of it once but it seems to just be sold in Canada. Come down here, maple fudge.
Wait, wait, this is a thing that exists?!
Moving to Canada right NAO. My boyfriend would totally drink maple syrup too.
Also, I just noticed it today, but I loved how the DA subreddit now has "DAI: THE WAIT FOR DLC" on the main image.

Yes, we are. I don't understand why everything is so silent with this release. It sold very, very well. Announce something, even if it's not coming just yet. Give us stuff to look forward to, even if it doesn't do anything with Solas just yet. I know we want answers but we also want something good, so do that one right.

Solas apparently doesn't eat much but I love the idea that he never turns down little cakes or other sweets.
I can just picture the Inquisitor always pushing some sweet thing or another into his hand trying to fatten him up.
But yes, he would definitely be a maple guy.

Yes, please explain when you have it together.

Who knew that a little offhand banter line about little frilly cakes would spawn so much of this. ![]()
I love this idea too. Then again, the 'food' for elves starting out in uthenera is honey, water, and herbs, so hey, sweet things. I think that maple syrup would fit.

Solas entering uthenera: Forget the water and herbs. Just slather that honey all over ![]()
