You know... in the end we'll probably all be sad we got what we wished for...
What's that saying? Be careful what you wish for .... =x

"Here's your story DLC! Solas heavy! BWA HA HA. Now don't you wish you were still living in blissful ignorance? Wouldn't it be lovely to go back to a time of headcanon and optimistic speculation? Your tears are wonderful."
Mmhmm.

*waves tiny Team Optimism flag*
I want to believe!
My feelings after any Solas heavy DLC I'm sure. Good, bad, ugly, beautiful.

I am expecting this.
Good thing we preserve the blanket fort around here. ![]()
At the moment it's them meeting at a rally for equal marriage. Lavellan is there because she's bisexual and at first she think Solas is just some old, straight, fart who wants to seem cool. But, he's really the Dread Wolf - a political activist from way back in the day - he'd led a movement for equal rights for elves but something really terrible happend and he got the blame for the worse conditions they have today (because if a modern day AU doesn't have elves, dwarves, qunari, magic and dragons then I'm not interested).
I was thinking of working in the Herald angle somehow.
And at some point this will happen:
Random Chantry Person: It's the Maker and His Bride, not the Maker and Her Bride.
Leliana: *eyerolling intensifies*
I'm enjoying this concept. The activism angle obviously works well for Solas. Dash of cynicism, drop of 'kids these days'.
The other day, I realized that every single position of power in my canon DAI is held by queer ladies. Where else can one even do that?
I am slowly putting together the rest of the pieces for the eventual return to clan fic I've wanted to write. I'm taking the 'all possible iterations of the Inquisitor as all having been there and everyone else but your PC choice dying at the Conclave' setup. And a few things have fallen into place. Now, just to actually map out the parts and write it.
LOLOLOL!!! I know!!!
And I totally thought of you, when it happened!! Lynroy is invading our games. It ain't SP anymore, it's LP now. Lynroy Player. Booya!
Awwwww yeah.
That is insane! The moustache is spreading. I don't know if this is good or bad. It wouldn't be the first instance I invaded the game. There are two NPCs, one in Emprise and another you meet helping Josie with those assassins, that have my name.
[Solas bitchy sigh here] At this point, I'll take any DLC, Solas centered or not.
I have to say I'm starting to dread (BWAHAHAHAA) a "final" DLC ending Solas' story, or at least his relationship with the Inquisitor. I'd much rather have mid-game DLC with some nice banter between him and Lavellan, like a little more romance content since I was practically dying of thirst between the balcony and the vallaslin scene. Of course, I'm still intrigued to find out more about Solas, especially what he was like in his youth. I wish they could do something with time travel, just so we could see him back then...
Also, just started "Pillars of Eternity" and I'm so sad there's no romances
I love Bioware and Weekes for giving us romance, even if it's just so our tears can sustain them...
Some art. ![]()
Solavellan sketch.
"How old are you Solas?"
Dread Wolf take me.
Solas, Knight-Enchanter
Bananas in pajamas.
Adorable DAI chibis.
Another adorable picture of the DAI group.

Those are far from mediocre shots.
( With my abundance of laggy shots, I am the poster of Derp Lavellan & company) I love seeing everyone's characters, especially with that much variety.

^This! I am desperate for any DLC at this point. ![]()
Also, Pillars of Eternity... I have yet to play that game because I've been told that it won't run on a 32-bit system. (And my laptop is 32-bit, hu hu hu...)
Samhal - M!Elf, Cassmancer, 39, Archer, playful.
Spoiler
All your PCs are lovely! (I wish I could make this many PCs but I used up all my save slots.
) I especially love Samhal. He is one gorgeous male elf. ![]()
Omg, little egg carton Solas. ![]()
And drinking, Krem style. ![]()

I hit the save cap on my first character. 250 saves? Not enough, clearly.
Whoops.
I might save a lot.
I backed them up, deleted a few that were very close in time to others, and made my mage.
This is one reason why I have not yet created any others.

I mean... Aloth, right? Stupid elf mages. ![]()
So, I just had a thought and was wondering if anyone can kinda clear up this confusion in my head.
Solas has been sleeping for round about 1000 years right? And he makes the comment about waking up and seeing things worse than what they were.
But, he talks about dreaming at Ostagar and seeing current events.
So, I'm confused as to what happened. Did he wake up after the recent Blight and then ran around dreaming to catch up or has he been watching world events unfold from the Fade the whole time. And the reason I have been wondering this is because if the state of the world is that upsetting to him.....why wait until now to wake up?
I have heard the theory that Briala knowing the eluvian password or whatever woke him up.....so that would point more to him waking up and being like "Oh f***********ck what happened here?!?!?" and him running around dreaming in places and I guess with his ancient elven superness doing like mega downloads of the events of the past 1000 years of Thedas.
Because surely if he had been watching events unfold....he would have stepped in a long time ago.....right?
And it dawns on me that if he actually had zero idea of what was going on in Thedas.....this means Solas was living in his own dream la-la Fade world and must have chosen to be oblivious to real world events. I mean, in theory he could block all that out and just run around and live in whatever Fade world he himself makes right? That is pretty freaking sad. Like really.
......I'm gonna go be sad now.
We don't know how long he has been awake, but Corypheus has been working on his plans for at least a couple of years, I think. And Solas has been traveling as Solas and trying to do things like communicate with the Dalish for at least a little while. So it's not possible to pinpoint when or what woke him up just yet.
Though there is a ton of speculation.
But yes, in uthenera, a person's mind is just in the Fade, so things are jumbled and interpreted and all that, as the Ostagar stuff shows. It's also a good reason why Solas and Varric's banter includes many presumptions about the dwarves and Varric speaking optimistically, while Solas is more preoccupied with the downfall of a great people. He didn't know any of that. Also, with dwarves, things are funny since they can mine lyrium with precautions and are supposedly cut off from the Fade and magic. Red lyrium being an obvious exception.
But if they're cut off from dreamd and thus, The Fade, this also explains why Solas was unable to see or understand what happened to them and thus, he sees the negative.
And even after waking up and returning to the world, everything is awful, according to his perception. And he blames himself for whatever it was that he did (of which we know only the barest detail). So he spends a lot of time dreaming in the Fade, even after waking after spending all that time in Fade stasis. It IS sad. He's a character with so many layers and so much pain.
Once you realize all his time in the Fade now isn't exactly all about making new discoveries, as he's selling it to you. The Fade is where whatever remains of the world he knew, his life, hopes, dreams, cities, people (aside from Mythal, at least).
But, you know, by doing such a great job creating those layers, making this character who he is and ring true, even with his inconsistencies, faults, and other hints we can presume only a little about, it makes me more confident as we wait for DLC.
So while I do expect that there's a not-insignificant chance we will get our hearts broken again in some way, I trust the writers and the team to take the same sort of care with Solas as they have so far.
Sharing my Inquisitors since this seems to be a good time to do it:
Mah barefaced bebe, Luca, 33, rogue assassin, in the final scene at Skyhold:
Seirianh, 28, rift mage, at Solasan temple:
Another pic of Seiri, derping around the Oasis with her @$$hole boyfriend:
And my human male mage, Haid, 36,
Did he "give" the orb to Corypheus, or did he take it somehow?
