I found a copy of Fallout 3 going cheap a few weeks ago and already have an impressive sized list of mods.
I'm not sure how in keeping it is with lore but I really like the Grey Warden mod that gives them their DA2 armour, you can get in various colours (I go for the brown version because it's Ferelden) and it's tintable using UDK. By the same modder is one that swaps mage robes, templar armour and Chantry robes for their DA2 counterparts.

Have you merged the chargenmorph file?
Any cosmetic mod needs to be forced into playing nice by using a third person software called CharGenMorphCompiler.

Er...no. ![]()
But I read the installation instructions wrong. It was the first one, and I didn't know about the whole 'override' folder.
I'll give it a try before I delve into the deep end of modding sorcery. Thank you, though. ![]()

TBH you only need to merge the files if you want to use more than one mod that changes CC. The Compiler is very easy to use, it auto scans for Chargenmorph files then you click a button and it merges them.
I can't believe I forgot Extra Dog Slot Dog's banter with companions doesn't trigger but imo it's an essential mod so Barkspawn doesn't end up just sitting in camp post Lothering.

The only problem with that version of the Grey Warden mod is if you are running IA, it hasn't been updated in a long time which is why I used the Of Ferelden mod you lose the customization, but it is more stable.
@Caddius If you are going to installed IA don't forget the Fixpack I did the first time I ran it and Jowan was walking around the mage tower without a head

IA took what I liked about the mods like Kirkwall Exports and such and made a nice one stop shop for me, but it is massive and can conflict with a lot of things. I did have to do a lot of weeding through to get it to play nice with DA Redesigned and my other mods, but now I really can't imagine the game without it. For me those two mods are like trying to play Skyrim without Frostfall and Realistic Needs and Diseases, I just can't. But it's definitely not everyone's slice of cake. White Teeth is too bright, but there was something I had installed that was incompatible with Realistic Teeth, and I just wanted something other than those zombie teeth everyone had.
I admit, I had to drop RnD from my modlist. I love it but it just needed too many patches. I use iNeed now but will drop that the moment Last Seed comes out (so glad the paid modding thing didn't cause Chesko to leave us forever). My copy of Skyrim hates me though. Running several hires packs and an ENB. My game looks amazing but, oh gosh, the lag.

You need to edit the chargenmorph.

Editing your own is also very easy. I found the Compiler to actually be a bit unreliable and prefer seeing what I'm doing.
@Caddius: Oh, and you should grab the Open Lock spell (the one updated for the DLC), but you will need Nexus Mod Manager to install that one since it crashes the default installer.
Just going through my DAO download folder and found some other mods:
Devout Armour: adds a new set for Leliana, and another for you. Conflicts with IA though.
Asala Upgrade: Makes Asala worth using and not junk it as soon as you get it level.
Dwarf Proportion Fix: Oh god do you need this. Gets rid of the bizarre arms that dwarven women have.
Human Proportion Fix: Again, gets rid of the strange proportions.
Elf Update: Mentioned this one before. Not only does it bring the elves more in line with the later elves but it also fixes the proportions. Yay!
There's a few Awakening bug fixes to grab too. One that fixes the Blackblade set drops, the Silverite Mine fix and the Vigliance fix (makes the sword display its correct model instead of Starfang's.)
I have loads more, mostly texture and bugfixes. I can PM you them if you're interested rather than getting waaaaay offtopic.
Ummm.. Solas' butt.
There, topic saved.

Sharing this here as all my friends and loved ones just basically went *eh?... oh ok... *shrug, loose interest, walk away* when I told them this, and you can understand my excitement! I am going to see Gareth David Lloyd at LFCC on the 19th
So If DLC does not come out by then, I just might sneakily ask if he recorded any more lines lately...
(I really hope DLC comes out by then though...)

It's been a long time since I've installed these mods or played DAO but the Grey Wardens of Ferelden does have a IA compatible option. I'm pretty sure that's what I have installed and it seems to work.
I'm looking through Nexus' top 100 and speaking of armour mods The Phoenix Armoury is one I want in every DA game.

I forgot to mention a couple of vital mods:
The camp storage chest (on the old BSN) - means you don't need to rush through the DLC just to get a party storage. This one is in camp and is accessable anytime except during first camp visit, ambush and the daylight version of the camp in Sleep Until Dawn.
Manual of Focus (nexus) - imports Awakening's Manuals of Focus in the main game. You can give Sten the correct number of Specialisations if you use one!

So, I haven't posted in here in forever. Hi, everyone! How's everyone coping?
I think the long wait for DLC is finally starting to corrupt my brain. It's been a long time since I had any DAI-related dreams, and now the past two nights I've had ones centered around Solas DLC getting leaked. But neither one was good. ![]()
Dream Wednesday night was that after a patch/game update (like in preparation for a DLC drop), data miners uncovered some hints about the new DLC. Literally the descriptive text was that the Inquisitor finds the orb's original owner (obviously Solas), strips him of his immortality, and they engage in a duel to the death.
Which, honestly, is my biggest waking worry about any DLC that ties up Solas as a loose end. And then my dream self was uber-pissed off and harassing Patrick on Twitter (which is 100% out of character for me, as I don't harass the devs). Woke up wholly unsettled.
Then last night's dream that I literally just woke up from was a similar theme, only this time it was as if I was playing the DLC. It was a cutscene, with the usual pauses for the dialogue wheel, where Lavellan finally finds Solas and they have a confrontation. He does tell her everything this time, like originally intended, and he was just so sad and heartbroken. I don't remember the exact dialogue at all, just the facial expressions and emotions, and it was very much Lavellan trying to plead with him not to do something (seemed like something that would end up self-sacrificial for him) and Solas being all solemn and sad and steadfast. It felt like maybe there might be a way to convince him out of The Bad Thing (whatever that was), but I woke up before I got there.
I am entirely unsettled. I'm in extreme need of some Team Optimism showers, please. ![]()

I watched Wolf's Rain back in my college days. It gets pretty depressing. (And yes, so much pain... I cried...)

Okay, so let's assume that Solas is the Dread Wolf. When slumbering in the Fade he sees/senses what is going on in the world and travels around looking for things that interest him. He saw a Qunari baker in Par Vollen when so far as I am aware he has never been there. He has a particularly affinity for rebels (even that Baker was a rebel in a small way). When he sees a group or individual struggling for freedom, he rouses himself to assist. Back at the time of Andraste, he was aware of the elven slaves struggling for their freedom and also the barbarian army on its way north, and knew if he could just get them together the whole thing might just work. So he rouses himself from sleep and takes the name of Shartan (which as the text suggests could have been a sort of honorific rebel leader title) and helps with the struggle for freedom. It doesn't quite work out as he hoped but nevertheless, in spite of the death of Andraste, the barbarians and the elves do win their freedom. So thinking, job done, he leave them to get on with it and goes back into his slumber.
When he next gets a sense of something big occurring, it is because of the vibes in the veil as a result of the mage rebellion in the south, first triggered by Anders' actions. He is also aware of a young Tevinter slave mage who has a great desire to free all slaves there and let them reach their true potential, not just mages. She doesn't worship the Maker or the old gods but seems to have faith in someone called the Elder One who will help her achieve her aims. He awakes from his slumber and seeks her out since it will take him a while to recover full strength and events are moving rather quickly, giving her the orb to be activated by the Elder One. However, having done so it becomes apparent that the Elder One doesn't intend using the orb as planned and so he follows their progress, to discover what they are going to do with it and hopefully recover it. I think he originally gave it to them to be a source of knowledge (which Cory does use it for) but what Cory learned made him try and use it for far more. Solas never expected him to try and unlock its full potential because he thought that would be beyond him and also potentially lethal to a non deity.
As for Felassan, if he is merely a follower of Fen'Harel, then the Dread Wolf communicated with him via the Fade (which is what happens in the book). It was the Dread Wolf who sensed Briala needed help back when she was a young girl. Her plight was not enough to require the full assistance of the Dread Wolf himself but he was able to point someone in the right direction to help, possibly from an outlying shrine to Fen'Harel somewhere remote in the south. Briala wanted to improve the lot of city elves and it is noticeable that Felassan directed her back to the Empress rather than fleeing to the Dalish to achieve this. As for why Fen'Harel might have ultimately killed Felassan, well he had exceeded his remit and the Dread Wolf might well be worried about people running around the eluvian network. After all, someone had to have shut them down in the first place. Why not him?/

The problem I have with the Shartan theory is that it seems like it takes a lot of conscious effort to remove oneself from uthenera, or at least that is an inference I am drawing from the Codex. I suppose that Solas, being a being powerful enough to be considered a god, could pop in and out of uthenera easier than a typical Ancient Elf, but it just doesn't sit well with me. I know he's the God of Rebellion and all, but it just makes him more depressing. I mean all these course corrections to improve things for elves and the world is still messed up. It makes his existence a study in failure.

The timing of this might or might not work, based on the best guesses we can make. Anders blew up the Chantry in 9.37. There are things that imply Corypheus was working on his plan for a couple of years, so likely since his escape
We have no idea at all when Solas awoke but it seems likely, based on his dialogue, that he was traveling for a while, trying to talk to the Dalish and exploring, so it does not seem as if he awoke with a sense of compulsion. Nor is he the type to make rash decisions. If anything, he overthinks them until he must act. I think it's (IMO) unlikely that he sprang up with an empty battery because he sensed Corypheus. As you said, Cory was convenient and he thought he would be a victim of the unlocking. Even if Solas knew there might be some destructive side effect of unlocking the power, I don't think he expected anything on the scale of the death and destruction that followed. Though he was nearby, waiting, and probably just expected a minor oops that most would overlook in the rebellion happening.
As for Felassan, if he is merely a follower of Fen'Harel, then the Dread Wolf communicated with him via the Fade (which is what happens in the book). Felassan is a Fen'Harel fanboy, but he is AFRAID of his master. He deeply fears going into the Fade. He doesn't sleep. The master is highly unlikely to be Fen'Harel, given Felassan's admiration for him, which is told jovially and without any trace of fear or hesitation.
