Doesn't the Inquisitor have one as well?

 

I... don't know?  I didn't see one. The only reason I brought it up is because Solas was the only one who had that "Horn of Valor" listed under their name. Or, the only one I could remember. Perhaps I missed something.

 

That said, I must now sign off. I have to go mow the lawn, which will take me about, oh, four hours. I'll probably crash afterward, so, a part of me is hoping nothing major (read: LI) is announced while I'm out and about. On the other hand, I just really wanna know and so I'd be cool with it being announced. Either way, see everyone later!

In the new demo she does have something around her hips that could be a horn

Isn't there a spell that Cassandra/Ironbull had where they blew into a horn that attracts enemy attention?

Maybe Solas has the same thing, then again he is a mage and the horn doesn't show on other companions as far as I'm aware.

 

That or it's Solas' flask.

Hi everybody! I took a break from the forums because I was completely out of things to say about Solas/the game in general, but then I woke up today and THINGS ARE HAPPENING and I've returned to Maximum Hype Mode. 

 

Still watching all the things (okay, I've watched the trailer like four times now, but I'm watching the REST of the things).  My initial thoughts:

 

1. Morrigan looks like Morrigan again! YAY!

2. HAWKE OMG

3. DRAGONS OMG

4. EXPLOSIONS AND DRAGONS OMG

5. SOLAS GRABBY HANDS PLUS BUTT SHOT OMG (seriously, I have begun to suspect that they continue to make dat Sola$$ even more sculpted every time he's       shown simply because they know we're watching for it)

6. Oooh, Cullen, rawr (sorry, can't help it)

7. Is the glowy lady Andraste? Are we possibly her champion in a "dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria" end of the world type battle between good and evil?      Because that's...actually really cool. And I don't even normally play as an Andrastian.

 

Also, the Elder One's voice is perfection. The hair on my arms stood up when he started with "Where is your Maker now?"  Yasss, Avengers reference, YASSSSS. And that chuckle at the end.

 

I may need to move the PS4 to the basement so I can just stay there with this game. Forever.

 

I'm gonna just watch the rest of the stuff now. And stare at this gif for awhile. Thanks for sharing this, Phate!

Just finished watching the demo and new trailer and I squealed a little. Was happy to see Solas, cole and blackwall in the party even if we didn't get to hear them talk much. It was nice to see them in action. But man that trailer had a lot of stuff that's gotten me all excited. Talking dragons? Big battle... and solas manhandling Inquisitor's arm.

 

The thought of solas manhandling a qunari inquisitor's arm amuses me as well.

Yeah, I would have liked to have heard Solas but, given all the extras we got, I'm not complaining.  It was almost as if they said, "So....We heard you want some Solas, Cole, and Blackwall. I think we could do that."

I'm over here all embarrassed to come back after my little conniption but as I catch up I find you all being supportive and ajsdhfs.

Also it didn't even occur to me that only default Hawke would be recognizable as... well, Hawke... to everyone. I just hate defaults so bad because they tend to be the most generic s***. You know, scruffy white dude? At least they used Lady Hawke (maybe to make up for the gross Mass Effect-y marketing of DA2?), but still... But now that I read a couple of you saying that, it's like... oh. Duh. No s***, Sera. Well done!

 

I still don't know how customizing would be done but I guess maybe it's not a bad thing to not immediately assume that no keep = no nothing. 

(It's not even like I want them to look just like they did. They wouldn't, anyway, given time has passed. But still like themselves? Yeah. I mean, I put a ridiculous amount of detail into their appearances... Every trait has a reason that's tied to their character in some way, so I could never see them as anything else. For instance, my Cousland has black hair for a very specific reason... If she were suddenly blonde? Omfg it'd be so jarring and wrong. So wrong. And even then, my own methods aside... What about Wardens and Hawkes that weren't white?? Just gonna whitewash them all?? So not okay. But I guess I might've panicked prematurely. It's not like they haven't pulled this kind of crap before, though, sooo...)

 

I also still don't know who that dude in Warden armor is but it not being THE Warden kind of makes me worry a little more, even... Like, she and Hawke were both missing. Why is only Hawke back? People are like, "Well the Warden's story is done," but it's like, no. It WAS done but then they BODYSNATCHED her. Give me back my baby, goddammit. You can't have her. She's mine.

I do take a little comfort in the reminder that their default is a US Warden though, so that would just be the Orlesian replacement instead of the Hero... Plus the way Laidlaw specifically stated "not the Hero Of Ferelden" gives that some credibility, too...

Either way SOLAS THREAD IS THE BEST THREAD and I love you all. HUGS.

 

Now, to re-watch the trailer without flipping out and to find a recording of the demo that I missed half of so I can form finalized opinions...

Congrats on being able to tear away to do chores.  I'm beginning to suspect I'm going to be taking a break from DA news for a while.  I very much doubt the info I really want to know isn't going to be part of what gets revealed, since it mostly involves very specific stuff like rogue skill trees and specializations, unrevealed VAs and LIs.

 

Edit (12 hours later):  For someone who's sworn off DA news, I'm not doing well.  I seem to have run out of likes again.

Hmm, interesting sparkles but I'm glad he's still doing that cute little hand thing with his fingers together whenever he casts.  And at least they're not DA2 fingers
