Turned out to be an amazing voice actor, didn't he?
Indeed.
This is that young hot blooded and cocky Fen'Harel we are so curious to see. Totally suits the god of rebellion to have performances like this on his resume.
Imagine concerts Arlathan style in Arlathan times. I mean....3 day music festival? Pfft, try 3 century insanity fest.
Well at least those horrible Nutcracker uniforms sparked something in the fandom. I get to see artists design their own beautiful gowns for their lady Inquisitors to wear at the Winter Palace. And not all of them involve petticoats and corsets.
(I just love dresses.)
This is one of my favorites.
And some others I like.
Beautiful, fierce, warrior/Reaver Lavellan in a dress? Yes please! ![]()
And if you want something more practical and more "military"-like to fit the Inquisition, paperwick designed a great one.

I'm trying to figure out what Eve's thinking right after he says that... is she trying to remember or figure out what game he's talking about, trying to look impassive if she knows to not give the game away, or slightly miffed that she hasn't been asked back for this one?
Course, she could be just trying to remember whether she left her dishwasher on, I dunno?
(I just know that I miss Merrill)

James Marsters and John Barrowman as dueling love interests in DA4, is all I'm saying. ![]()
...Also, Merrill riding a griffin into Weisshaupt to rescue Hawke. ![]()
I liked the uniforms. They're a nice bold red, which is my favorite color, and they were formal and I wanted to touch them. They looked soft.
I only heard the whole Nutcracker reference later once I was done and unbanned myself from possible spoilery places. I was pleasantly surprised to later find out they were really good mage armor.
I love dresses. That green one you linked from needapotion is lovely.
See, my Lavellan would have wanted to wear something like this.
Spoiler
That's pretty easy in, easy out. I mean, if it takes less time to put on the dress compared to her armor....then no excuse.
But if it had been one of those Orlesian nightmare dresses.....then I get it.
Oh, and why a dress like this? I imagine this is close to Arlathan style....and I think it would have been sweet if like, Leliana and Josephine asked Solas if he had ever seen really amazing looking dresses in his Fade journeys. So you know, Lavellan could stand out. And stuff. yeah.
I just wonder how much court approval elven fashion would win her, given elves are already considered second-class citizens at best.
It would be so scandalous they'd love it.
And Solas would probably think it's hot because supposedly his fashion choice for the evening was also a jab at the Orlesians. And that's what really matters here.
Hey guys!
I don't know if you've seen this:

It seems tremendous fun! Although I can't officially compete as I'm from the EU, I had an idea involving a certain Dread Wolf so I just wanted to submit it to you. I found it fun to write so I hope you'll find it fun to read. I'm not used to writing fiction so, sorry in advance if it's...dreadful!!

Very creative. It also fits the tone with the parody/homage found in the games. Too bad you can't enter.
I saw it yesterday but inspiration hasn't struck yet. I will have to think about it more. Though, off topic, I pitched an op-ed to a dream publication. Fingers crossed and all.

Eh, Orlais isn't as big as it looks on the map, Cornflakes can have it. ![]()
EDITED: I just wonder how much court approval elven-inspired fashion would win her, given elves are already considered second-class citizens at best. We're there to win hearts and minds as much as to end Orlais' civil war and even Solas recognizes the political pitfalls of an elf being announced as a trusted advisor to the Inquisition rather than as a manservant. He tells us outright that being seen to dance with him might jeopardize our mission and suggests we wait until our business is concluded. I love pretty dresses, but Halam'shiral never seemed to me an appropriate time or place for my Inquisitor to wear one.
Given that Halamshiral still retains it's elven name and the Winter Palace is built on ancient elven grounds, I think wearing elven-inspired attire to a ball held there would actually be rather fitting in that context, wouldn't it?
And as MayriyaNoori said, they'd love it because it's scandalous. Even the people who'd disapprove would be secretly impressed at your moxie to show up to an Orlesian event wearing elven fashion, while strutting around the room like you (still) own the place... cue much monocle dropping.

I'd have liked to shown up and stayed in the dwarf equivalent of a suit.
Several layers of chainmail and a snuggle-nug for warmth under the armor on those crisp Orlesian nights. ![]()

And anyone who had a problem with my Lavellan being fabulous.

And to add to the chaos, and referring to earlier conversation.....
....the real chaos happens in Orlais when all of the alternate universe Lavellans travel through the Fade and show up at one Winter Palace ball looking said fabulous and fighting over Solas. It would be like Thedas' Next Top Model only the prize is Solas.
Tisk tisk, Fen'Harel. Gotta get your game together. I'm pretty sure that's crossing the line with spending time in the Fade.
I wish this was an option, especially after being called 'rabbit'This whole discussion about Orlesians and Halamshiral made me think of limpstella's little comic...

I'm strongly tempted to make a two-hander Lavellan and name him Bigwig.
Oooh! Watership Down reference!
Only 'children's book' I know of that has a protagonist tell the bad guy to, "Eat ****," when it comes time to banter. ![]()
Also, the whole trickster god angle.
But mostly Bigwig's foul language.
Not much new art for now.
Solas looking a bit annoyed. (But pretty hot.) I love the way he's sitting. XD
Solas is greatly judging you from behind. ![]()
And a screenshot of Solas' stubble. And lips. And heck, you could even see his freckles... Damn. ![]()

Haha, I'm sorry, but in all fairness Surana is written less memorabley than the others. The mage origin to begin with is probably the least memorable then add that to the fact that Amell has blood relations to Hawke and is one of the two human origins and it's easy to see why Amell often over shadows Surana. I played a male Surana for Leliana, but that was only after two Amell play throughs. City Elf and Dalish origin > mage elf origin, so that's why people usually pick others before Surana.
If playing a mage city elf or Dalish elf was an option I would take (I actually have a modded Dalish mage playthrough). But I do love my Surana and feel that origin is unfairly treated by the fandom.
I always have a looser template myself, which is usually a rogue (dual-wield) of whatever race has an interesting story or series of attributes. So, all of my DA canons are stabby rogue ladies. I establish a foundation when I start, name, some personality traits and values, infuse the provided backstory with some of my own, and then add to who this person is over the course of playing. I take my time on my first playthrough and go slooooowly, so my first is always my canon.
So I have a Warden who married Alistair, Hawke who ran off with Anders, and now this Dalish Inquisitor who, by the end, has had a lot of things to question. They are all pro-mage freedom though (based on somewhat different reasons). I'm pleased with them all in their own ways.
Though, speaking of Elder Scrolls Online, I started off as Dunmer Nightblade but my boyfriend decided to take a 'break' so I moved to a side character (since we had dark elf rogues for each other) and now I play my Altmer sorcerer most often. Which is weird since I'm generally rogue about 90% of the time and mage 10% and never warrior unless forced to be.
I don't play ESO but Altmer Thief (I have a mod that adds back in classes) is my favourite thing to play in Skyrim. I like being a non-typical Altmer.
I love the Elder Scrolls stories. They're usually quite entertaining. Part of the reason I take a while to play through most RPGs is I tend to read everything (or close to it).
It's fun in that series as well as DA where there's a whole bunch of lore and history and context in documents. I've been replaying DA2 on and off recently and it's funny how many ways Inquisition was set up in codexes and other smaller ways. Obviously, certain overarching plots like the mage-templar conflict, and characters were much larger ties.
As for the Cullen romance, I've had my issues with Cullen, really disliking him initially (he was traumatized in Origins which I get, but no, killing all the mages isn't an option, Cullen), though in Inquisition I do find him sweet and charming. I thought I'd maybe go for Sera or Cullen but I just wait to see who draws me in and we all know how that ended up.
I am not really a fan of rivalmances, but I am no stranger to pain after Anders and Solas. Even though the whole Anders thing came complete with red flags from the start, there was still a friendmance amid the trouble. In my replay I keep thinking I should go for Merrill, finally, (I do love Merrill), but damn it if I've had Hawke flirting with Anders again.
I've also got a second DAI playthrough and another Solas romance so uh, my LIs often ruin me for other LIs.
Rival!Merrill with a purple or blue Hawke is fantastic. And it's not that hard to rival her either. Just do the blood mage tome quest right at the start of Act II and destory each book. Merrill gives +10 rivalry per book if she's with you (but not if her romance is active).
He did though! From "I'm not certain this is the best idea." to "Don't go..." "It would be kinder in the long run." I just didn't....listen.....
And do it, btw. Carver is the best Hawke sibling including the eldest one
Illyria Greatly Approves. And not just because your user name comes from Garth Nix.
Haha, same for my next playthroughs. One is romancing I.B. the other Cullen, yet both of them are always surprised when there's no flirt option and the Fade scene doesn't end in a kiss.
Side note: Is it weird that our Dalish elves refer to the Fade as the Fade and not the Beyond?
Very odd.

I have a weird tendency to do the atypical thing with Nords. It's a bit amusing. Especially since I don't play heavy warriors when I have the option not to. But imagine a very large woman trying to be stealthy and ignoring racial bonuses.
I did borrow my Lavellan's name from my ESO Altmer sorc. But I'm more attached to my Lavellan now.

I may attempt to. One reason is I have an AU bouncing around in my head that involves a romanced Lavellan post-Solas but also f!Hawke with Merrill. It's kind of a weird thing that may never happen. But I do love Merrill. Rival would be different though.
