I don't hate the dress uniforms, but they aren't what I was hoping for. I was really looking forward to wearing a dress at the ball! Illyria Greatly Approves. And not just because your user name comes from Garth Nix.
(waves Carver flag forever.) sob. I couldn't decide what to name my Lavellan...stared at the screen for like ten minutes and then my eyes drifted over to my bookshelf...
It was physically painful to not make her a necromancer, let me tell you.

Carver is fantastic. I just found Bethany to be dull in comparison. I tried rolling a rogue after my mage but found Carver's death too sad to keep playing.
I don't know if you've seen but I have a tendancy to drag this place down into the Carver hellspiral sometimes. I have a great many Carver feels.
I'm disapointed she's not a necromancer. ![]()

CARVER IS MY FAVORITE HAWKE SIBLING FOREVVVEEERR! It's nice to see other people that appreciate Carver! Most of the internet I've hung around is all "Bethany is sooo sweet and Carver is such a whiny little brat!" ... which Carver is a whiny brat, but he's my whiny brat!

Speaking of that particular moment - I've been thinking about it for a while. Why is it that Solas avoids answering that question and instead looks in direction where Inquisitor is standing??
I don't really think it's the matter of sads. Something else is going on here.

I love Bethany, but it's also super easy to be solid friends with her considering how I play. I'm trying to decide if I want to make her a Warden this time or leave her to the Circle as before. I haven't taken her into the Deep Roads before.
Perhaps someday I will understand the Carver feels.
I'm a little inspired to maybe write something about siblings, since I didn't grow up with any.

I felt that was more a case of Solas kind of dismissing what Varric was saying, or otherwise ignoring it, and looking to the Inquisitor to continue their conversation on what to do. But it would be interesting if there was more to it than that, even if not surprising. I mean, we do have the whole glowing hand and Fade survival thing going on... no telling what else there is to discover.

From my experience with Cinema tools from what i saw until now the characters never look at another character unless they were talking( edit: or moving towards another character in some cutscenes),is it just weird coincidence that Solas looks at the Inquisitor in this particular scene?
Maybe it is...still gave me chills

I thought so too - but I replayed it recently just to confirm this is the case and what made me doubt it is the fact that Solas doesn't respond, looks at Inquisitor... and then goes right back to looking at Varric again. So... huh.
In any case, I think hints that there's something about Inquisitor (not just the Anchor) we don't know yet are scattered all around the game (though I don't buy that he/she is an abomination/possessed by something as some theorize).
I mean, Solas actually disapproves if Inquisitors claim that they don't consider themselves different from anybody else. Then there's whole "you're real and it means everyone else could be real"............. What the hell does it mean, Cole >_>? You make my head throb.

As for Cole's banter it may be that Solas did not expect the modern day elves to be "real" because of how misinformed they were about they'r culture, well everything as we can see, every clan he tried to help in the past to teach them about it he was attacked, mocked, ignored it seems. So he falling for our Lavellan changed everything making him question himself or everything else he thought about them like the scene on the balcony where he says "If the Dalish could raise someone with a spirit like yours...have I misjudged them? ![]()

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if romanced Lavellan got an option or two, but what it is... we can only guess
Me? At this point I'm trying not to speculate too much and approach any DLC that may be coming our way as a tabula rasa... Mostly because I expect a twist or two ![]()

I don't really think it's a mere coincidence. I think it's a matter of intentional subtlety, though whatever it really means is anyone's guess.

I liked Bethany too, but I usually played as a Mage Hawke so I had more time with Carver. I find Carver to be the more interesting of the twins simply for the fact that he is a very layered and realistic character. I'm not saying that Bethany isn't realistic, but I don't think it's unjustified to label her as a Mary Sue. I would recommend you try Warden Bethany and Templar and Warden Carver eventually. I prefer Circle Bethany, I believe Bethany prefers Circle Bethany, but it adds an interesting light to her character seeing her grow bitter after being forced into the Grey Wardens. On the flip side Carver embraces being a Grey Warden and everything that they should stand for, he embraces being a Templar too, but my pro mage Hawkes usually take that as a serious betrayal to the family.
I grew up with six siblings
I have plenty of stories if you need some inspiration!

But he looks at the Inquisitor no matter the romance status, so we need to keep that in mind. If he's looking for any particular reason, then it has to be something that every Inquisitor can experience, and not just a romanced Lavellan.
I still consider strongly that it was a dismissive "You know nothing, child of the stone!" sort of moment, but I suppose we'll see.

Not really - it happens to every Inquisitor that does Cole's quest, no matter of race, gender or approval level.
But then there it comes in the disapproval to the Inquisitor's claim that u mentioned.Ugh more questions
As for Cole's banter it may be that Solas did not expect the modern day elves to be "real" because of how misinformed they were about they'r culture, well everything as we can see, every clan he tried to help in the past to teach them about it he was attacked, mocked, ignored it seems. o he falling for our Lavellan changed everything making him question himself or everything else he thought about them like the scene on the balcony where he says "If the Dalish could raise someone with a spirit like yours...have I misjudged them?
Look at the line you've quoted - while Solas gives some credit to the Dalish for managing to raise someone special, the implication is that Inquisitor was special to begin with.
This is also why he tells Lavellan that "For all they got wrong, they did one thing right - they made you".
This tells me that there's some quality in Inquisitor's spirit (soul?) that Solas did not see in a long time, for whatever reason. And I mean every Inquisitor - in balcony scene every approved Lavellan (male or female, romanced and non-romanced) if they pick "The Dalish didn't make me that way - the decisions were mine" dialogue option, not only gets some approval, but they get to hear "Yes, you are wise to give yourself that due. Although the Dalish, in their fashion, might still have guided you".
And the implication is that Inquisitor is special - again - doesn't end on Lavellan (romanced Lavellan just hears about it more often because, she's well... romanced
). Even the disapproved Inquisitor - in a 'crisis' scene Solas treats him/her with a gem like this "Are you blissfully unaware or, deep inside, is some part of you banging on the walls, screaming?"
Also - every Inquisitor who visits Solas in the Fade hears from Solas that after they manage to seal rifts with a gesture he "felt the whole world change".
Then there's, of course, Cole who tells every (approved enough) Inquisitor that they're 'too bright' and makes it sound like the Anchor only adds to Inquisitor's brightness - and we know that bright beings, in "'Fadey" terms, are pretty goddamn 'speshul'.

There was a video posted some months back where someone showed a clip from in the Fade, right before spirit!Justinia flies at the nightmare demon. She touches the Inquisitor for just a moment, and the Inquisitor jerks and grabs their head, or something like that. I think they were trying to draw parallels about spirit possession between that and when Corypheus takes over Janeka/Larius. Anyone else remember this?
A lot of it feels like reaching for things that don't exist, or trying to find meaning and symbolism in every little thing, but I was a bit surprised that people didn't jump all over that as meaning something big.

Touches? If I remember correctly, we see Justinia burning brightly and Inquisitor cowering and shielding their eyes from blinding brightness (right before Justinia explodes).
In any case, like I said, I just don't buy that Inquisitors are simply possessed, hence they're more 'speshul' than just 'random Anchor owners' - I think that something may have happened in the Fade (be it the fiorst or 2nd time), but something about Inquisitor was possibly there to begin with.
Of course, NOW we enter the field of speculation in which Inquisitor was a person designated by Maker/divine/someone to do great things from the start, but considering how many things we yet don't know, I just don't go there - I just find all the little hints interesting.
Anyway - anyone finds it peculiar that when we first find Justinia (and she doesn't glow yet) Alistair - and only him - notes that she is indeed very bright??

Just to point out that he may look at the Inquisitor during that cutscene, regardless if it's a romanced female Lavellan or any of the other origins. It's easy to forget, especially when you find yourself (as I often do) caught up in a Lavellan/Solas gameplay loop, that 90% of his interactions are exactly the same with every Inquisitor.
[EDIT: Wow you guys post quick. Already said above so eh...ignore me. I'll just hang out for a while, look at the decor. Did you guys get new curtains? Very nice.]

Yup, it's not all just about female Lavellans
I mean, they're already treated a bit special considering that Solas almost goes as far as revealing SPOILERS for next game/DLC ![]()
But other than that, there are other Inquisitors as well - and I kinda hope we'd get different (but as meaningful) interactions with Solas, depending if we befriend him or not (same with other companions, though likely they won't be as pivotal to the story...).
