Thank you Cee! I'm glad you managed to shovel through everything I wrote . When I said that Solas betrayed your Inquisitor, I meant that he betrayed your trust which, in my opinion, is even more apparent with a romanced Lavellan. It depends on the person how much of what Solas did came off as a betrayal, and how much it effects your opinion of him, but, in my opinion, Solas betrayed your Inquisitor the same way Blackwall did. A betrayal of trust is not something insignificant. It can ruin friendships, destroy relationships, annul agreements, sever bonds, SOW DISCORD IN THE MINDS OF THE POPULACE AND TOPPLE GREAT CIVILIZATIONS!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

 

 I might of got a little carried away...I should probably go to sleep now.

 

No, I enjoy this. And I agree that the end result is people take away different feelings and perspectives. I think of a betrayal, as I said, as more malicious intent. He was undercover, so to speak, from the start. Both he and Blackwall are complex in that way, and both are deceptive. Though Blackwall (who lies more directly) does eventually decide to attempt to make things right and come clean, while Solas circles the idea with a romanced Lavellan....and we all know how that winds up.

I respect your opinion Cee! Although my Lavellan is definitely going to be a mixed bag of emotion when the truth comes out! She'll feel heartbroken, betrayed, angry, disappointed, confused, bitter, doubtful, hurt, fearful, naive, and many more! Even though I'm sure the BioWare translation to that will be:

End it with Solas with disinterest in him

I was P.O'd with the lack of options with romanced Anders, I had a lot of feels and gosh darn I wanted to share them!

Well, for mine, she will have questions, some anger, some worry, and maybe other emotions, depending upon the circumstances. With Anders, I was satisfied. I loved the opportunity to spare him and run off together. I play a very staunchly pro-mage Hawke, so while she would've never gone to that extreme or support that action, there's a certain understanding amid the bleakness all around. She wanted to help him too.

 

With Solas, we have no idea yet, but I trust it will be difficult. I'm optimistic but leaning toward bittersweet.

My Hawke couldn't forgive him :-/ at least not that soon after his betrayal (she felt betrayed). I would've like more options than just run off with him and break up with him . Ah, well, here's rooting for a bittermoresweet SolasxLavellan ending!

I kind of enjoy myself a good ole fashioned heated debate over the flaws and likability of a character provided both parties stay respectful that is. Always discussing the good things about a character can get boring, sometimes people need to butt heads to discover just how layered a character is!

 

I'm not good with confrontation, so the joy of butting heads is lost on me XD I literally start doing this:

 

 

I'm down for discussing a characters flaws though: you don't have to hate them to admit they have them. The flaws are part of the reason we love that character, they wouldn't be who they are without them. :3
