Well, for mine, she will have questions, some anger, some worry, and maybe other emotions, depending upon the circumstances. With Anders, I was satisfied. I loved the opportunity to spare him and run off together. I play a very staunchly pro-mage Hawke, so while she would've never gone to that extreme or support that action, there's a certain understanding amid the bleakness all around. She wanted to help him too.
With Solas, we have no idea yet, but I trust it will be difficult. I'm optimistic but leaning toward bittersweet.
My Hawke was the same way with Anders. She's pro-mage and a mage herself and while she didn't approve of Anders' actions of blowing up the Chantry, she couldn't kill him and chose to run away with him instead. *sigh* My trainwreck romance.
I'm assuming that if we Solasmancers were given a choice for our Lavellans to be together again with Solas, it'll come at a price so yeah, it'll probably be bittersweet. ![]()

I like Rise and I am the One. And the French/Orlseian version of Enchanter is pretty.
I Am the One gives me so many Solas feels. I mean, it's not confirmed about him but the lyrics seem to point there.
One thing I'm looking forward to are the new tavern songs Elizaveta confirmed were happening.

Yeah...my Inquisitors spend too much time in Val Royeaux just standing like a creep listening to French Maryden... just standing there, with an ax wielding Qunari standing behind me, a creepy stabbity stab stab spirit trying to get up on tables, and a bald elf a distance off acting like he doesn't know us.

Confirmation for new tavern songs? Awesome!!

It felt kind of right with all the rest of the bleakness going on anyway. Anders and his struggle but also the consequences of actions, which goes for lots of people.
I'm prepared for more Solavellan hurt, though I just want something satisfying and for him to find a little peace. I think, with or without him, my Lavellan will survive, but I want her to have some answers too.

That's what I think also.....and then I listen to the Elvish version and melt a little more. The only other individual I could think it being about is maybe Mythal. Since she hs also been a big player in Thedas history for quite some time now.
And new tavern songs will be awesome sauce.
Another thing that woul dbe awesome sauce? Some real DLC news. ![]()

Yeah.....I'm preparing for the hurt also. And I also think Sols getting some peace is more important than Lavellan getting some peace.
I'm also finding that if I lower the bar on my definition of a satisfying ending for Solavellan, being optimistic about any DLC outcome becomes much easier. So now, I find myself being happy if they at least get a nice hug in before one of them has to die/leave/uthenera/all possible tragic endings. A hug would be nice.

I do think it's Solas, especially with his fixation upon the past and what was lost. It's sad every time I listen to it, but beautiful.
At this point, I think we'll all die of shock when we get real DLC news. ![]()

Yeah, I figured they'd leave it until after E3 or announce it in July... now we're nearly midway through it, not a peep from anyone?

Yeah, I suppose Mythal, or at least what's left of her speaking through Flemmeth, doesn't seem to be to torn up about losing the past as she just wants someone/thing/group to pay for something.
Hearing the song and imagining it's about Solas makes me really freaking sad for his character. Even just the first line about feeling the sun. I mean, can you imagine being asleep for 1000 years and then feeling the sun again for the first time? It was probably both painful and wonderful at the same time.
Ugh, Solas' reality is so sad. So, so very sad. No wonder he'd rather be in whatever it is he goes off and sees in the fade.

I expected some kind of announcement by July. JoH was released for some of us at the end of March. I predicted July would make sense since the exclusivity delay. But the recent announcements about old-gen consoles and the Spoils of the Qunari early reveal seem to point to something.

Yep, all of this. Feels overload.

I've been wondering if part of the reason the next DLC will be available on the next-gen only is because the DLC might be very taxing for old-gen consoles to handle if they need to do something big, such as show us an extremely large battle taking place... especially if that battle does not take place on land?
Although that might just be because I was slightly disappointed that for all the talk of the world in complete chaos in DAI, we actually got to see very little of the various conflicts up close and personal. The Orlesian Civil War and Mage-Templar conflict was mostly locked in an uneasy ceasefire and stalemate by the time the game started, so we only ever got to see the aftermath of their devestating battles.
Could have given us some scale of the scope and reminder of the current state of things to find ourselves waylaid at times while travelling by enemy factions duking it out or ambushing us, sort of like those random encounters in Origins that gave us harder enemies to deal with as the game progressed and as the blight spread across the country?
You know, given that I'm in the middle of another playthrough and have just completed the Mage recruitment time travel quest, I really don't think that Solas is going to destroy the Veil. Actually, I now think that maybe it was Solas who created the Veil in the first place.
I think, way back when, in the time that spirits floated about everywhere, the Ancient Elves abused the power of spirits during their internal wars, using them and twisting them to fight against each other. Solas the Spirit-lover couldn't stand this, along with the slavery and other horrible things. So he used his powers to create the Veil in the hopes of saving the Spirits from corruption and ending the power struggle between his people. Of course, this then has other, unforeseen knock on effects that end up screwing up his people.
I mean, his orb power seems to be specifically linked to the Veil, the ability to twist it, open and close it etc. Also the fact that he points out and approves of activating the Elven Veil measurey ball thingies. Plus, the future seen in Redcliff shows the effects of the Veil being torn open, and they're pretty horrible. I don't think Solas would be keen on seeing that come to pass. I really can't wait to find out what that baldy git is up to.

Ninja mask is suspicious....You've piqued my curiosity. Is Solas involved? Will you share it?
I wouldn't put anything past the Orlesians. You make a good point, it's possible that they might have not changed the name after taking the city as a not-so-subtle jab, since it's particularly cruel (and somewhat Orlesian) to take a name meaning "The end of the journey" in Elven and reveal that that end lies in a walled-off ghetto.
Course, could just be that everyone was used to calling it by that name that no-one felt the need to change it, sort of like how Gwaren still has it's original dwarven name from when it was one of their trading outposts.
