*whispers* Varric, once he realises what a tosser Bianca is and actually wants some happiness himself.

*coughs*

In what way is Bianca a 'tosser'?  She married a man she didn't love so that Varric wouldn't be harmed, worries about him when he doesn't write to her, and builds awesome crossbows.

But Varric is in love with my Hawke *_* he just doesn't realize it yet!

Ah, poor Varric, always the voice of reason, with the clearest, most rational, and thoughtful perspective of the world (in my humble opinion)...except when it comes to his love life X)

I enjoy bringing Aveline and Donnic together but I would totally romance Aveline if it were possible.

As far as romances, Alistair and Solas for different reasons. (The Anders trainwreck romance was also valuable, memorable, and gave me feelings but they were all over the place.)

As far as DA4 companion to carry forth - Dorian, especially if we're going to Tevinter.

Aveline is amazing, but I picture her too much as the big sister of the group to have any interest in romancing her X)

You picked all the guys that pick the greater good over you :'(

Haha, Dorian is hilarious X) it would be iteresting to hear his commentary on his homeland when you're there with him too!

We're going to have to wait for DLC and see who actually survives ;P Those who manage to live through the entire length of DAI will likely be companions in next game.

... Though, TBH? I'd like to see Kieran and someone from younger generation be introduced as a companion (when they grow up, of course), unlikely as it is.

@Neverland - Too right! (with the whole sir/ser/serah bit). As for not assuming gender, I learned that early on when I first started posting on the BSN. Had been a lurker starting in 2010, then finally registered and posted in 2011. Yeah.....I got a few gender identies wrong, due to things like names or the pictures of their avatars. Most were unfazed, of course. One or two though, seemed nonplussed. Oops.

Yeah if Aveline was romanceable, I'd romance her in a heartbeat. <3 My male Hawke was in a romance with Merrill but he totally had a little crush on Aveline. :P

I liked all three too. I enjoyed how different each of them are. Also, I just love how we both picked romances who were pretty much tied to the main plot  (which usually means potential heartbreak in Dragon Age terms...why oh why...).

Oh man, let's quell these fires before they even start to burn.

People who love Varric and genuinely want his character to be happy (or want to romance him) tend to view Bianca with distaste. To them, she's like a dying flower on the plant of Varric and is only costing him his happiness and his time worrying about her and thinking about her. For such people, Bianca flower needs to snipped of permanently. There relationship doesn't appear to going anywhere and it's just unhealthy for the two of them to be in this awkward friendwewereonceloversandIwishwewereagainzon. This is even more apparent with Varric appears (to us for what little time we spend with them) to be more hung up over Bianca (he obsesses over a weapon he named after her that she made him) than she is him (and she's married, he's single). Plus, it rubbed some people the wrong way that she presumes to threaten the Inquisitor.

I have to admit to being confused by people disliking Bianca on Varric's behalf. She isn't my favorite person, but I appreciate how Varric's love story is something different than a dead/lost love or a wicked evil betrayal. It sucks for him, but he is an adult and made the choice to continue on as he is. It doesn't seem as if Bianca is forcing the situation on Varric. Probably he could go off and find a partner if he wanted. He just doesn't want to. How is that Bianca's fault...?

My Lavellan did want to have strong words with her for many things. Many, many things. That just wasn't one of them. <_<

Oh right, my favorite NPC is the spirit of command ("or pomposity") you meet in Crestwood. Second place is Briala. (I don't remember enough Origins/2 NPCs so yes.)

And here's a thought I had recently re: Solas. So let's pretend that his involvement in the Breach's creation ever comes to be known at the Inquisition. Not even his true identity, per se, though they're connected, but the "I gave Corypheus the orb" thing. And let's also pretend Leliana was "hardened" and is Divine now, and discovers the actions of this elf she is currently kicking herself for underestimating (per his updated codex entry) led to the murder of her beloved Justinia...

I mean, there's your Exalted March DLC right there, Bioware. It'll never happen, but I super like the idea. I suppose I'll have to explore it in...ugh, fanfiction. (On a related note, I'm bitter because I spent my whole canon playthrough pushing for Leliana as Divine, unhardening her and such, but ended up with Cassandra. Who I'm happy for! But now instead of a loving, accepting Divine, I have a compassionate spymaster on my hands. *Disgusted noise.*)

Sorry, I tend to leap to Bianca's defence a little too quickly because I have seen way too many fans saying that she's 'leading Varric on' and treating him like some poor little baby who doesn't realise he's being manipulated and I'm just... 'really, that's how little you think of Varric?  You think he's that stupid and naive?'

They're a couple, and they're in love.  The time they spend apart, Bianca's marriage, the assassins - none of that matters to them.

Yeah, I would've like a little more time to call her out on what she did.  But then my characters have allowed a Darkspawn magister to live, released another magister and accidently bound themselves to an elven god.  None of them are fit to judge anyone on poor descions.

This is my opinion of course, based on our interactions with her. She comes across as a "I know everything and can do no wrong" sort. I mean, she f*ck up pretty badly, lied about it to everyone and then was totally unapologetic when found out. That's just with us. The fact that she didn't seem to trust Varric's warning on Red Lyrium and went behind his back. She might say it's all in concern for him and Bartrand etc. but in my playthrough, Bartrand was dead and the fragment destroyed. She had no reason other than her curiosity and her obvious disregard for Varric's opinion. It's just a thing I really hate. Make mistakes yes, but be friggin honest or repentant about them afterwards. I get the feeling that even at the end, she thinks that she did nothing wrong, either to the Inquisition or Varric. And that, IMO, makes her a bit of a tosser.

[EDIT: Sorry, posted after I saw many above comments. Yeah, it's not really the relationship aspect that I find her a tosser in, though I don't doubt it may be a little unhealthy for both of them. It's just her general attitude that got my goat (or halla) up.]

And I always go in blind too. So I just happen to be drawn to the most plot-relevant LIs (even in Mass Effect with Liara). I wasn't even planning on playing Dalish until the last moment this time. I guess it was some weird destiny for plot relevant romances. :P

Yeah, I guess it's better safe than sorry :) Actually I decided on NeverlandHunter for BSN, YouTube, and Xbox live because it was gender neutral and I hate it when people assume things about me because I'm female.  and... Xbox live is scary, but I don't tend to play a lot of online games anyway.

Back to Solas: Creators I hate that moment in the game, he sounds so broken! I wanted to run up and give him a hug!.. Then I remembered I was still mad at him for Lavellan. Poor Solas, poor Lavellan :(

Ohmygoodness that would be sooo awesome!! Disclaimer: I know this will never ever happen buuuut

What if Kieran could be a companion in a future game and your Warden's dwarf child if you gots that casteless dwarf preggers as a male Aeducan! And Connor too!! That would be so cool! :o And descendant of Rufus's known to you as Dog!

Yeah. Their love life is really none of my business. Varric is a grown adult with a fairly decent head on his shoulders. He seems to be perfectly ok with the arrangement.

I was more pissed with her threatening to kill me after she screwed up SO ROYALLY with the red lyrium. Same with Varric actually.  Couldn't give a crap about somebody else's private life.

I played Hawke as basically big sister, compassionate Hawke with a touch of purple, so it kind of works. I love Aveline.

Well, Alistair went and became king and married my Warden, so all went well and mostly happy there. Anders and Solas certainly brought the pain though. Though my Hawke did run off and help Anders. Solas, TBD. :P

Dorian did say at the end he intends to go back home sometime and work for change (but stays with the Inquisition for a little while, depending), so it could very much work for bringing him forward.

Same here (about going in blind, that is). The funny thing is, for DA2 I originally wanted to go for Sebastian as my LI but then I started gravitating towards Anders (because mage freedom and all that). And of course for DAI, I wanted to go for either Cullen or Blackwall but Solas won me over in the end.

With my track record, I'm convinced that whoever I end up romancing in DA4 will probably be a plot-relevant LI, hehe. :P
