I just explained it to myself as some sort of strange mixture (haha, hand lotion ) he uses so he could cast spells better... That, or the paints he uses for the mural can temporarily discolor the skin

I have to admit, I shall be forever baffled by Solas' eye design. They gave him droopy eyes >_>, which also aren't that big or wide-open - and they're made look even smaller by really large irises.... yet, they manage to offset that by making the eyes really deep-set and gave him a peculiar lower lid shape, plus a pair of low, straight brows.

 

(artist/designer talk here, sorry folks, I'm in such mood today...)

 

I actually really like Solas' eyes. Though I wouldn't have said the same thing prior to getting to know his character in-game, they strike me as very appropriate to his design, for reasons some others have already mentioned. Anything too bright, wide, sharp or youthful wouldn't have lent the same, immediate wise sadness to his character, I don't think. The man doth wear the saggy eye well.

 

Speaking of freckles, since DAI on the PS3 has pretty crappy graphics (which means bad textures), I noticed that my Lavellan has some sort of skin blemish on her cheeks and I'm not sure if they're supposed to be freckles or she just has bad skin.

Even the freckles weren't really visible on Scout Harding on the PS3 and her freckles kind of looked like that so I'm not sure if my Lavellan has freckles all this time. ^__^;

 

EDIT: At least I saved pics of the sliders. When I get my PS4, then I'll know whether she has freckles or just bad skin. '3'

 

Slightly off topic, but Capricorn: I felt suddenly compelled to return the surprise Lavellan art gift favour (in case any of you haven't yet seen the awesome artings Capricorn did of many of our community's Lavellans, check out all the beauties here!), so I sketched a quick Tala from the above pic. Thanks again for drawing my Tala! I really love it. :3

Poor Cole, look at his face!

 

That is the face of a Spirit who is clearly a little confused and worried by some of the things he's heard... such as Lavellan wanting to have Solas to do unspeakable things to a small kitten she owns, as well as find the rooster that Solas has hidden and have it for dinner.

 

Why does she want to do those things and why hasn't Cole seen either of those animals in Skyhold? He should find them because they are in danger!

 

(And now I think we have the answer for why Harding saw Cole with a bunch of chickens under his arm)

I've been debating another Solavellan playthrough, I think I'm about ready after a few months to have my heart broken again. I suppose I could make her a warrior for varieties sake (and join the Talalas) , but I've always found it extremely hard to play them.
